2 post Friday-let's start with Bellariffic Birthdays!

TGIF! Isn't that how most people feel? It's actually be a nice week around here, kind of calm, and definitely back to a routine. Thank goodness. I think this is the first full week of school the boys have had since before Christmas!
Aside from family birthday's, there have been quite a few friend's birthday parties to attend. I've been trying hard to stock up on my Birthday card stash so I'm not making them at the last minute. This week's Bellariffic Friday Challenge is helping me do just this. I love this image and need to find a sentiment that says, "King for a Day!" for now I used a generic birthday greeting. I still had my watercolor supplies out, so that's how I colored this cutie. I also used one of my fave boy papers by Jillibean Soup, Alphabet Soup. Wonder what border punch I used? It's the pinking heart punch by EK SUccess (SU is also selling this one) and I just hid the hearts under my panel. Clever huh? More bang for my BUCK!!! Gotta love that :)
Stop by Emily's blog to see the rest of the eye candy! and then check back here for my Unity, Friends with Flair post! Hugs, Lisa

Love coloring with my copics on kraft, I'm always surprised at how the colors actually turn out. I used the {ippity} set, Because of You!. Isn't that flower so fun? I guess I don't have much to say today, so I'll leave this as is! Enjoy! Hugs, Lisa

Loved the CAS51 Challenge This Week!

Seriously, I embraced the CAS challenge over at SCS this week and have made.....wait for it.....12 cards because of it. The challenge was to use designer paper on a CAS card. Easy 'nough!!!! Now I do admit, 8 of the cards were the same, quick design and I was able to mass produce them in 20 minutes (including cutting!). Joshua has some birthday thank-you's to write, so I had to get these made. Love my Jillibean Soup Dp-alphabet soup and soup staples. I get mine at Limelight Papercrafts!
I put these together while watching basketball practice. Senitment is from the {ippity} set, Just Wanted to Say! These next two I did earlier in the afternoon. And you can see, my thank-you notes evolved from this next one-same card, just added a ribbon and the HB stamp from Life's Little Moments (also by {ippity} .....WANT SOME! I'd be happy to help you get these fabulous stamps in your hot little hands!!!!)

and then there's this fun card using the gorgeous Sweet Pea dsp by SU. Sentiment is by PTI-Signature Greetings!

You'll have to wait till Friday to see what I did on my other two. I must say they are my FAVES of the day!!! Happy hump day! Hugs, Lisa

MFT Wed. Stamp Club!

okay, I made this quick tonight and needed to upload it so I could link it to Kim's blog. I was inspired by the felt clouds Kim made on her card and so I made felt hearts on my card. I love the texture it adds!!! I kept it simple with a copic colored Heart Stripes PI girl, and some girly lace and pink baby braddies! See you tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

Papertrey Inside Outside Goodness!

Today is 25th of the month, and thanks to a little reminder from Crystal, a lighter DT load, and a few hours this afternoon to actually stamp.....I get to play along with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!!!! Yippee!!!

The challenge this month was to do up the inside of your card AND make a matching envie!!! (it's also a Moxie fab challenge that ends tonight-perfect timing!) So fun and so easy to do, I just get lazy and don't finish up the insides of my cards very often.

I used quite a few sets to make this card-turning a new leaf, signature greetings, polka dot basics, and guidelines 2 (Thanks, Crystal. I am returning this soon, I promise! ). I'm also loving this color combo-chocolate, spring moss, aqua mist and a touch of raspberry! My sister is going with this combo for her wedding and this was my warm up card, playing around with them. Now, I need to get designing her invites! Here's how I did the inside.

Since I used a darker cs base, I knew I had to line it with a lighter color. So, I added paper strips in same colors-spring moss, and raspberry fizz and carried over a few of the stamp images I used on the front. I also tied the look together with more stitching-I {heart} my machine!!! I also stamped on the kraft envelope with the same leaf and polka dots from the card. See it below the card in both photos. Here's one more close up of the outside and all the fun extra details-love that ribbon!

It's great to carry design elements from the outside of your card, to the inside, and even to the envelope and it doesn't have to be matchy-matchy-just coordinate and it will still look great! Thanks for stopping by. Can't wait to see all the other fabulous creations tonight!

Hugs, Lisa

H{ippity} Hop Monday!

Another week, another Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We sure did-got in some good family time with my parents!!! The boys are so blessed to have wonderful grandparents. Thanks mom and dad!
Since it's Monday, it's time for another {ippity} blog hop and challenge. This week we are challenging you all to make a shaped card. Any shape will do, just make sure it's something other than a standard rectangle or square card. I played around with my nesties and used the Lables 4 die (biggest one) to make this sweet little thank-you note. I inked up the mushroom from Because of You and the thanks so much sentiment from Just Wanted to Say (if you need these stamps or want any other {ippity} sets, SHOP HERE!) I used some Cosmo Cricket dp, Nutmeg, to make the bottom border of my card. I just ran those papers through the big shot with the same die.
Off you go to see the rest of the {ippity} inspiration today! See the full list of participants on the {ippity} blog!!! Be sure to play along with the challenge this week for a chance at another fabulous prize! Have a great week! Hugs, Lisa
don't forget I have a HUGE list of stamps for sale!!!! See them HERE!

A Little FWF!

I feel like I'm so short on time this week. A short week, busy busy, my parents came in town, basketball games, and a birthday party, finally for J-man! WOW! I'm trying to work ahead so I can spend fun times with the fam.
I did this card earlier in the week for the FWF challenge. Becky's (one of my dear, stamping friends) card was the inspiration piece and I was just feeling the argyle. Mine is from Oct. Afternoon dp-report card. I also loved the punny stamp she used (I pulled one out from Hodge Podge of Happiness) and the swiss dots embossing folder.

I tried to stick to a CAS layout, but with all my little extras, I'm not so certain it is truly CAS. Be sure to check out the FWF participants. They'll be up on Angela's blog around 10 am!

I'm working on a list of stamps for sale!!! I have so many that just don't see the love they deserve. So check back for details, I'd love to send them to a new home! Hugs, Lisa

Limelight Challenge Day!

We've got another great layout to work with this week, brought to you by Limelight Papercrafts. This week our product focus is-CANVAS! I was especially excited about this challenge because, OMG, have you seen the new Canvas Tags by Basic Grey???? Mandy got them in the store and I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of the DT using them. I used one on my card here. They are self adhesive, but I used some dimensionals to pop it up. I also used more of the gorgeous Origins paper. Come play along for a chance to win pack of your own Canvas Tags. The ribbon is from Limelight too.
Also, if you scroll down you'll see how I did my patch work-like layout. It's easy, but I know some have asked how you do it.

Here are the deets for this week's sketch and product focus challenge:

**Use the sketch above and incorporate Canvas
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC039
**Post a comment with a link to your card to
Mandy's blog and the challenge post by Sunday, Jan. 24, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.)
**PRIZE: one lucky winner will receive one package of Basic Grey Origins Canvas Tags

So if you are wondering how to get a patch-work-like look to any die, I've got two photos that will show you how I do it. Cut or punch out squares or in this case rectangles. I kept mine roughly the same size, and then adhere them to a piece of cs. You can use a scrap piece since you will be covering the whole thing with your cut pieces. Next, simply place your die over top of the adhered pieces of dp. Once you run it through your die cut machine, the excess or overhang will be taken care of. This sample was pretty simplistic because it as a rectangle, but it works beautifully with any shape die-the top note and even a circle turn out great!
I hope that was helpful. Now off you go to check out the rest of the DT!
and as always, don't forget to stop by the store, Limelight Papercrafts!!! There is always something on sale! Hugs, Lisa

More Hearts....

ooooooooooooo, FREE is great! Almost everything I used on this card-the border punch, the heart stamp set, and the sentiment, I earned for FREE! Gotta love that! It's another SUO card and I really like how it came together. What a fun mix of colors, dontcha think? I the dp is also new, I told you last week, I'm loving the new Sweet Pea paper pack! I'm shocked at myself, I actually used a narrow ribbon. I think it has been close to a year since I've even touched my 1/4 narrow, grosgrain ribbon!!!! It was just the perfect size for this card.
So I have a question for those of you have used the new clear mount stamps by SU. I am so happy about the new option, will not go back to wood mount! I thought their idea with the clear stickers was ingenious before I got the stamps. I was quite disappointed when I put one on and found that they don't cling nearly as well with the sticker on. Was it just me or does anyone else think this? Thankfully I only tried it out on one, but that one stamp falls off the inside of my box and floats around (which totally bugs me!) and a few times after I inked it up and picked the block up to stamp, it fell off the acrylic block! Just checking. Thanks for stopping by today!

Chipboard Hearts

I'm a little out of whack for the start of the week. I love a holiday with a long weekend with the boys, but it always throws me off for the next day or two. You know, this Tuesday feels like a Monday and tomorrow will also mean the week is already half over-I guess this is why the weeks just fly by!
Okay, so my crafty share for you today is from a card I made last Friday with the Verve challenges. I got to hang out in the Verve forum for their release, thanks to Tim's late work night and had some fun. My fellow {ippity} DT member, Michelle, is also one of the Verve Diva's and her challenge was to use chipboard. I used some chipboard hearts and inked up part of a Verve Plain Jane Scripture stamp, 1 Chronicles16:34, to make this sweet little Valentine. Isn't that paper delish? Bet you wouldn't guess it's from a Christmas pack of dp-Good Cheer by October Afternoon. I inked up two of those hearts-one with hearts of old and the other with polka dot basics. I set off the sentiment with a little red Kaiser rhinestone.
So go dig in your stash, find some holiday paper that can be used year round and have some fun with it. Oh, yeah and while your at it, pull out some chipboard-I know you've got some!

H{ippity} Hop!!!! with a Challenge.

Did you know each week we list a challenge in conjunction with the
H{ippity} Hop? This week we've got a kind of color challenge, ready??? How about Black, Neutral + one other color!!!!! Be sure to upload your card to SCS and use keyword IHHC7.
it's EASY to play along:
1. Simply create an {ippity} project with black, a neutral and 1 other color
2. THEN upload it to the Splitcoast Stampers gallery by midnight on Sunday {the 24th} with keyword: IHHC7
3. Post it in This Thread so we can ALL see your pretty creation
4. We will randomly choose a winner next week and post it in a new thread

No shocker, I used Kraft for my neutral. I decided to use black as my accent color-I love just little hints of black behind almost anything-it always seems so eye catching. My plus one color was razzleberry!

I kept to a CAS layout and used my fave heart image from
Life's Little Moments and clear embossed it on the kraft cs to make a background. The sentiment and little birdie are both from
Straight from the Heart!

If you want some {ippity} go ahead and order here!

Here's a detailed shot of the image panel.

See that band at the top of my card? I confess it covers up something I didn't like. I thought those hearts were up too high on my card base, so I added the strip of kraft, then tied some linen thread on and added the piercing. I like the subtle way it adds another demension to my card without actually adding bulk! Can't wait to see what the rest of the {ippity} chicks come up with! Off to be inspired! Full list of participants HERE! Hugs, Lisa

A Surprise Sunday Post

I have been working on this card a little bit each day this weekend and I finally put it all together. Do you know Joanne B? Of course you do, don't we all???? and if you've been here long enough you know how much I adore her work. Well, last week she posted an amazing watercoloring tutorial and a little challenge. I couldn't resist! And she just sweetened the pot, I would have played regardless, but it's doesn't hurt that there's a MFT gift certificate and stamps up for grabs!!!!
I used the sweet little Pure Innocence girl, Start the Day with Whee! from MFT. Isn't she just the cutest????

So for Joanne's challenge I was inspired by the :
watercoloring
stitching
Pure Innocence stamps
I am also in love with the newest Basic Grey line, Origins. It is soooooo ME!!!! I love greens and browns and those shades of yellow with the pop of black here and there-deeelish!!!! The little felt pieces are the mathcing Woolies! Oh,and check out that bit of brown ribbon-ahhhhh! It's faux suede with a ruffled edge!!!! Get yours at Limelight Papercrafts.

Post no. 2....Friends with Flair

yeah for me!!! I actually got to the CAS 49 challenge this week. The challenge was to cut out a stamped image, I made 3 cards this week thinking they each would be used for this challenge, BUT I was having issues keeping it clean and simple. I think I finally did it with this card. Love that tea bag and it's sentiment from the Dec.09 KOTM. Paper is from the new SU pack, Sweet Pea! Ahhhhh, it's deeddee-lish! I just love the colors in that pack, and the patterns are so fun. I stamped the tea bag, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals. I added a bit of twine to give it a real string and add an extra bit of texture, yet still keeping it simple. Short and sweet on this FWF Friday. Check out the full list of inspiration here on Angela's Blog!
Two things before I go. Be sure to check out the {ippity} blog. I'm hosting today's Fresh Idea Friday! and if you haven't seen my blog candy, today's your last day to enter! I'm announcing the lucky winner tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

Bellariffic Friday....Lovely Dovey

soooo another love card! We still have month till Valentine's Day, so you'll probably see many more. LOL! The Bellariffic Friday Challenge this week was to make a Lovey Dovey card. I used one of the new stamps from the Dec. release-Chloe the coffe mug girl. Love this one! and paired it up with some Bella Blvd. dp. It's kind of a non-traditional lovey dovey image, but with the heart on the mug and the cute heart dp- I think it works. I added a little SU tag with the sentiment, Love You, to complete the card. Up next is my FWF, Unity card, so be sure to stop back by. Hugs, Lisa

L is for Love

Yes, I've got another lovey card and this one is......wait for it........an SUO card!!!! GASP! I know, I was shocked at myself too, but happy to have pulled out some of my Stampin' Up! supplies. I do still love them, there's just never enough time to play with all the goodies I own. Collecting is a big part of this hobby! Dontcha think?
I was completely inspired by Kristin's card for this week's CAS challenge (which I still have to do-since I punched out all my images I didn't think it would count as a cut-it out piece). She used an adorable little squirrel image, which I don't have, so I used the next best thing-the skunk from Pun Fun. He's just as cute all done up in browns and made into a squirrel. I ended up punching out a bunch of hearts and used one for a heart lollipop instead of the flower he's supposed to be holding. This card was super fast especially cuz I found the image already water colored (I have plans to water color some stuff real soon!) Dp is from Thoroughly Modern pack, sentiment is from the Grateful Greetings set (from the Occasions mini, no longer available, so you wait to see if it makes it to the catty next year). The pinking hearts border is available now!
I am happy to say, I got a chance to play with some of my new SU goodies, so if your an SU fan be looking for that.
Don't forget 2 days left to leave a comment on my Blog Candy! I'm amazed at how many of you have already left comments. Makes me Smile!!!! and I love that it has made my "stalkers" actually come out and say hi! Hugs, Lisa

Love Birds

We are running a bit slow this morning, thanks to a fun night at a SKATE Party! OMG, did I have a total throw back to my childhood. I loooved skating parties when I was in elementary school and I took 2 of the boys to theirs last night. I rented skates and had fun teaching my little guys how to rock it out on skates. lol! I can't wait till next time and when the boys are even bigger and better on skates so we can zoom all around the rink together. Who am I kidding, by the time that happens they probably won't want me there, right? LOL!
You're here for the card, so here it is. It's a MFT sketch card. I love me a great sketch, and this one was so fun to work with. I've got lots of other ideas for it in my head. I used the adorable little Love Bird set from this MFT kit and paired it up with some Beloved dp. Those little birdies were stamped on kraft and pieced with coordinating paper from the same pack.
I finished the card off with a fun little pinking heart boarder, melon berry twill and brown lace. I think I'm over doing it with Valentine's cards this year, but I just can't stop myself. I guess most of them aren't limited to Valentine's Day, they could be used for Anniversary or just any day love cards! See you tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

Birthday Boys!

Last week was a big birthday week for us (next month is a big Birthday MONTH!). My oldest turned 8 and his best friend and our neighbor turned 9! So I made sure I had some older boy birthday cards done.
This was one of the reasons I was so excited about Stampin Bella's release last month. I think they carry a great line of boy stamps. Now that my boys are getting older, and so are their friends I need to start updating my kid birthday stamps to images geared toward tweens! I think these two work great! (the birthday boy image is one included in my blog candy, didjya see????).
I almost used the new MFT set, Bling Bers. It really is a great set all by itself, because it has quite a few sentiments for lots of occasions. This last one was for my guy. That plaid circle just makes me smile.
I used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and Limitless Labels set. I'm trying hard to use what I've got. I even pulled out some SU stamps yesterday!!!! Wow, I know, I was shocked too. I did order from the new SU mini and can't wait for my goodies to get here. I'm curious about their new clear mount stamps (I didn't get many stamps, mostly accessories!!!). Okay, I've got to get the boys out the door for school. Hugs to you all! Lisa

H{ippity} Hop Monday!

Brrrrrrr! It's been sooo cold here in the Midwest (and across the country from what I've heard!). I'm here with a little {ippity} to warm you up! It's our Monday blog hop and I love seeing what beautiful {ippity} creation you all have been making. Now that the holidays are over, I've been spending some extra time with my {ippity} stamps! This weekend I made something just for ME! It's a prayer journal. I'm part of a women's bible study at our church on Wed. mornings and we start the day with Joys and Concerns. I finally have a sweet little notebook to keep track of who needs prayers. The {ippity} set, Devoted was perfect for the job.
You can purchase this set and any other {ippity} sets, HERE!
Since this was for me, I used all things I LOVE!!! I kept the chipboard cover naked, well sort of, and added random sized squares of my fave designer paper, in three of my favorite colors-aqua, olive, and chocolate chip. I love sewing, buttons, twine and ribbon, so I HAD to include those here, too! I also added a bit of glimmer and shine, cuz, guess what the {ippity} hip hop challenge is this week......yep, you guessed it GLITZ!!!!
I stamped the sentiment on kraft cs and then made it sparkle with iridescent ice embossing powder. I also did the same for the heart in the square above the sentiment.
And to make it all that more GLAM! I added a few kaiser rhinestones interspersed between my buttons and in my ribbon square (okay, okay, it's a rectangle, I know!!!).

Be sure to check out the {ippity} blog for the full list of H{ippity} Hoppers! And check in to the forum on SCS to get the full details of this weeks challenge (IHHC6). There is a prize up for grabs and you can only win if you play! Alrigthy, I'm off to see the H{ippity} Hop!

Hugs, Lisa

Ahhhhh, love me some Unity!

I can't even tell you how long it's been since I got to join the fun Friends with Flair line up. It has to be waaaaay before the holidays. Didya miss me? I'm happy to say I got some of my Unity stamps inky and they were happy for it (and so am I). I have two cards for the FWF hop today.
I'm having fun with some of my new papers and of course my beloved kraft cs! This dp is Farm Fresh, by October Afternoon. I get mine at Limelight Papercrafts. The stamps are from the Dec. KOTM... Delightful Moments.Next up is another Valentine's Day card, pulling the heart branch image from the Nov.09 Store KOTM...Believe in Fairytales. and the sentiment from the Dec.KOTM...Delightful Moments together. Love that, with these stamps-so many ways to mix and match sets! The dp here is by My Mind's Eye, called Beloved and it is sooooo lovely.
Stop by Limelight and check out the specials. Check out the full list of FWF participants, HERE! Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow, finally with my BIG Blog Candy giveaway (I know, I've been talking about it for a loooong time, but I've finally got it all together for you!!!! It's worth the wait, I promise!) Hugs, Lisa

Happy Thursday to you. Today is another fun sketch and product challenge with the Limelight Six Chicks!!! Get out your buttons and get to work! Need some buttons? Limelight carries a large assortment of buttons. Here's my card with the sketch. I ended up flipping it and moving my buttons down a bit, but the same basic layout is still there. I pulled out an older Unity set, Shine On!, love this one, and thought it looks great with the gorgeous Basic Grey dp, Nook & Pantry. Buttons are also by Basic Grey! oh, and the piece of green ric rac is by Jillibean Soup.
Come play along, it's fun and you have a chance at a prize!!!! Here's how to play:
**Use the sketch above and incorporate BUTTONS
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC038
**Post a comment with a link to your card to Mandy's blog and the challenge post by Sunday, Jan. 10, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.)
**PRIZE: one lucky winner will receive one package of Basic Grey Stitched Brads of their choice!!!
Now jump on over and see what the rest of the chicks did with the sketch. I know they'll have lots of button inspiration for you!!!

Shop Hop with MFT

Tonight's the night!!! My Favorite Things release night! Hopefully you've been hanging out in the forum, and having fun with us. If not, that's okay, cuz you found your way here. Be sure to start the blog hop back at Kim's blog so you don't miss out on all the details and great projects by each of the DT members. If you've come from Michelle's blog, you in the right place.
I was so honored to be this month's guest designer. Thanks for all your support and kind words. I'm so glad I discovered MFT stamps,! The products, the company, and all the friends I've made because of this company just make me happy!
Here's what I've got for you tonight! Of course I'm showcasing my favorite line by MFT-Pure Innocence. I told you the other day just how tickled I was when I saw Kim added this sweet little guy to the line up. Snatch him up quick, the PI stamps always fly off the shelf.

I knew right away I wanted to add him to a tin and store our hot cocoa in it (he's much cuter than the Swiss Miss canister from the grocery!). We got our first snow the other day and are expected to get another 4-6 inches tomorrow. The boys are having a blast playing outside and I always have a cup of cocoa waiting for them when they come in.

I used one of these tins and covered it with some retired SU dp. I stamped the Snow Adorable image on a white perfect panel and colored him with copics. I then created a tag, stitched around the image, and added the sentiment (it's one of 2 that comes with the set). I finished off the tin by stamping the letters to spell out cocoa with the Alphadots stamp set and did up the top of the tin. The letters were punched with my 1/2 circle punch.

Totally switching gears, from snow to rain.....I have one more card to share and it's done with the Umbrella girl Pure Innocence image. It's pretty simple with a little paper piecing and the addition of some glittered garnishes ( I used the Spring collection) to the centers of the flowers.

Okay, so enough babble from me. Off you go to the uber talented, Melody! and when your done, or maybe before your done, be sure to head over to the store and get your order in! Many hugs, Lisa
