Hip Hop Halloween

Helllllooooo! Hope your week is going great. Today is here to make sure that at least your Thursday is FANTASTIC! It's hiphop day with the Unity and Ippity DT-wooohooo! We decided to change things up again and add a theme to hip hop each week. Today we are showcasin' our Halloween projects.
I'm sure you'll see lots of this sweet little {ippity} set, That's Creepy! It really is a fun and cute Halloween set.
I did up some quick little candy wraps and tags. The annual Boo Bags are going around our neighborhood, so I made up a few of these to include in the bags my boys passed out.
I used a 3.0 x4.5 inch piece of designer paper to wrap around a mini Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkin (yummmmm! these and the Easter Egg shapes are my fave, something about how they make the peanut butter in these treats-they're the best!). Then I cut out the witches hat and Trick or Treat images to tie on with some twine and a ribbon. Seriously....quick and cute!
Okay, I'll send you on your way. Make sure you come check out the Unity Forum for all the fun, chit chat, and a few prizes.
Plus, don't forget, you have until the 16th to finish up the WCMD challenge cards. The prize is soooo worth it.

Hip Hop full of Love

Happy Thursday. We are spreading the love today as we say good-bye to one of our dear and fearless leaders, Michelle. She was a HUGE part of {ippity}, and one of the driving forces behind out Design Team. We were all very sad when we heard the news that she was leaving. Soooo today, we wanted to say Thank-you and Wish her well as she moves on. I know whatever venture she is about to take on will be great. Michelle, you're a ray of sunshine-shine on, girl!!! This card is for you!
I used what seems to be my new go-to {ippity} set, Quotes à la Happy. This is also my take on this week's Hip Hop Sketch (HHSC25). Be sure to check out the challenge in the Unity Challenge Forum. We'll also be over HERE chit chatting it up today with laughter and prizes!

annnnnd Moving on.......as Angela shared with us, since Michelle is leaving, that means {ippity} and Unity has found someone new to step in and take the reigns. So this post also is my chance to say a big HELLO and WELCOME to Amy Tillmans. I look forward to working with you and getting to know you. If you haven't already, please help us give her a warm welcome HERE, over in the Unity forum.
I'll leave you now and send you off to Maria's blog. I can't wait to see what she has for today. It's her week for the tutorial on the {ippity} blog and last time, she blew me away with her creativeness!

Hip Hop with a sketch!

*** please scroll down for my MFT Shop & Hop Project***

Good Thursday morning to you all! Thanks for coming by. I'll keep the chit chat short today, always lots to see and I'm sure you'd rather look than read anyway. LOL! Did you know there was a weekly hip hop sketch? There is and they are fantastic. I used this week's sketch, HHSC23 and created this card with 2 of the new {ippity} sets. I love how these two work together-Totally Happy and So This is Love. I couldn't help myself and pulled out the June Bug papers again. Those red polka dots were calling for me.

Maria is up next. Go see what she created today! And don't forget about the fun in the SCS Unity Forum-prizes, chit chat, and beautiful women sharing the love of Unity and friendship.

Post no2.-Hip Hop with Ippity and Unity

I have to say that I'm officially in love with all things Vintage and Shabby Chic. It is totally unexpected of me, AND I love how it turned out. A vintage, girly, baby card-who wouldn't guessed. I used this week's Hip Hop sketch and the wonderful {ippity} set, Moon Beams and Heart Strings. Do you want it? Buy it HERE!
Speaking of being in LOVE with vintage.....OMG!

These papers and embellishments that had me at Hello! Have you seen the new Webster's pages???? That's what I used here! Along with some lace, eyelet lace, and my own tea-dyed twill! I have to make more of this, it is soooo fun and adds the right accent to any vintage project. Check out how I did it on the {ippity} blog. Oh, and while you're there, be sure to leave a message and welcome our newest DT members. A big shout out to Lisa and karen! Michelle announced it yesterday!

{ippity} and Unity and a GREAT BIG HIP HOP!!!!

YES!!! it's true, Angela has brought back the hip hop!!! We are all so excited, but I'm especially giddy because she has invited the {ippity} DT to join in on the fun!!!! The cool thing is, this is every week! You'll be seeing {ippity} and Unity together and there will also still be the Thursday {ippity} tutorial, too!
ARE YOU READY For Some FUN???? Today is going to be full of excitement. I decided to focus on a card for the {ippity} challenge this week-an Easter/Spring card. This adorable little bunny from Sweet Thoughts of Spring has finally made it's way into my heart.
I have to be honest, he kind of freaked me out when I first saw him. The slowly over the last few months as I viewed his cute little face being used over and over out in blog land, I decided he wasn't freaky, just ADORABLE! (kind of like those cabbage patch kids used to be...many people didn't care for them at first, but they fell in love with them any way. I never understood that, LOVED those dolls with a passion when I was little, but I get it now!) Okay, enough chit chat! You've got a lot of hopping to do.
Here's my sweet little bunny card with a bit of Kioshi dp (ahhhhh, is that stuff purty!).

In true Hip Hop style follow the links and leave some love.
Off you go to Maria's blog!!!
Join us in the Unity Forum for chit chatting & IPPITY prizes from 10-1 and from 5-8 CST
Don't forget to stop by the {ippity} blog for a fun tutorial, by ME!!! and then stop by Angela's Blog for the full Hip Hop line up.
See you in the Unity Forum for games, chit chat, and fun!!!
Hugs, again, Lisa

Hip Hoppin' Sneak Peeks!!!

I'm sad to say that today is my last hip hop as a Unity Guest Designer. I have had to time of my life (well,my crafting life, anyway) and all of you have made it that much more FABulous!!! Thank-you for all the kind words and support. Thank-you to the DT members for being so accepting and fun to work with. You have all made my month!!!! Okay, enough of the mooshie stuff....on to the FUN stuff!!!! Hopefully you are arriving from Laura's blog, if not be sure to start at Angela's blog for all the Hip Hop details!!!!

Here's your day 4 August KOTM sneak peek!!!! I soooo love this image.

It is an awesome size. I used it here on this card, combined with the Confessions kit. Isn't it soooo sassy?!!!!
This image is going to look great on scrapbook pages too. I have two other fun cards for you today using some images from the August KOTM. I had fun playing with them.

I made a little chalkboard card. The little school house image is just adorable. Don't forget about the Frame This Alpha. I used it for the ABC on the board and inked them up with white craft ink. The rest of the sentiment is my own handwriting written with a white gel pen. This last one just makes me smile. Now I have something to make you smile!!!! You've reached the end of the Hip Hop!!!! Wanna win this set, Time for Travel???? I thought it was appropriate since so many people are away, including me. Just leave me a comment, be patient, and I'll draw a winner late Sunday when I get back from our little vacation. For now, hang out in the Hip Hop forum and join the fun!!!! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Lisa

Trick or Treat to a Hip Hop Beat!

Hello, Hello! I hope you just came from AJ's blog, and if not then hop on back to the beginning (Angela's blog) so you don't miss any of the wonderful creations today. We've got lots of treats for you today with a fabulous Halloween Hip Hop. Today is the release of this awesome new Halloween kit, Halloween Tree! You're gonna flip for this one, but then have you ever met a Unity stamp you didn't like? lol!
I've got 3 treats, not tricks for you today. I had soooo much fun making these. I really like this tree and the fact that it comes with 3 different sentiments makes it even more fantabulous! This first one is my fave sentiment. Have you heard the funny little-can't get it out of your head-catchy little tune Moose A. Moose sings on Noggin, "No, I don't like Candy corn"? Do you have toddlers, do you know the song? It cracks me up and that is the first thing I thought of when I read this sentiment. I on the other hand, adore candy corn-love that you can buy it in bulk! I used my markers (razzleberry, curry, and pumpkin) to made the sentiment look like candycorn. The layout is CASED from the SU catalog.I used the spotlight technique on this next card to highlight the yummy candies.
I layered up some punches to create the sentiment and finished it off with some sweet gingham ribbon. This last treat turned out just how I envisioned it. I LOVE to create this sponged background with any silhouette tree (see this one I did last year with the Growing in Unity tree) and knew these colors would help create the spooky nite sky just for the occasion. So there you have it, three treats from me. Now off you go to visit ****Christi****!!!
Happy Hopping! Hugs, Lisa

Pat Yourself on the Back!

Welcome to the Unity Hip Hop. I am SOOOO enjoying my time as a Guest Designer this month. If you just came from Robyn's blog , you are on the right path. If you just happened here by chance, be sure to start at Angela's blog so you don't miss any of the SALE info or any of the wonderful creativity.
OMG! You girls (and any guys) did good!!! You are soooo going to LOVE the new Customer Kit, Hodgepodge of Happiness. I'm sure most of you have seen it, heck, most of you helped create it. It was such an ingenious way to get us all involved. All last month we voted on what images we wanted to see in the kit. Well here it is, in it's full Glory!!!!
Isn't it just wonderful? I know many of you already pre-ordered it, but today is the official release day. So if you haven't ordered it, GO order it !!!
I didn't know where to start. There were so many images I was dying to get inky. Sooooo what better way than to create a little set of love notes-six little 3x3 cards all with the same basic layout.

I did a lot of paper piecing (just can't seem to get enough of that Basic Grey Lemonade paper!!!) and added the fun little ribbon-button treatment and I'm so happy with how these turned out.

The other card I have for you today, is seriously, I think one of my favorite card I have made in a long time. Of course it helps when you have such a darling image to work with (and more of that yummy paper). This tree was my absolute FAVE image we voted on.

I left off a sentiment so I could personalize this card when I felt ready to give it away. Although, I am honestly thinking of keeping it and framing it. It would make the cutest little bit of artwork for my craft room! Keep on Hoppin'!!! Your next stop is AJ!!!! I know she'll have something fabulous to dazzle you with! Happy Hip Hop and thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend! Hugs, Lisa

It's Thursday!!!! That Means it's Hip Hop Time!!!

Oh, yeah, oh yeah! Have we got a treat for you today!!!! I was super thrilled to find out today is the day of a new alphabet by Unity!!!! You are going to LOVE it! Before I get too excited, I hope you just arrived here from Wendy's blog. But if you are just getting started, be sure to start the Hip Hop back at Angela's blog (don't want you to miss out on any of the fun!!!).
I am an alphabet junkie! I've got a ton of alphas and I love to mix and match fonts and styles. Unity has a lot of alphabets AND this one is perfect! I know I'll use it over and over. Plus, it is like getting a little bonus when you purchase this kit, not only does it come with Upper and Lower (LOVE that!!) it ALSO includes 3 fun tag/frame elements. The letters fit perfectly inside!
The new kit is called Frame This Alpha.
I used it on 3 different projects today. First up is the layout I did of 2 of my little monkeys! I used all lower case on my title and then combined a few images from Everyday Adorable. I just love the little quote, " Children make you want to live life over again." Here's a close up of the actual alpha.
On these next two projects you get an idea of how the letters and the frames work together.
I used the miss you sentiment, omitting the I, from the July KOTM (oh, the flowers come from the kit, too!). I used the capital I from the alpha and stamped it inside the cute little scalloped circle (this one is my fave!). I punched it out using my yellow Marvy Scallop circle punch (I think it's the extra jumbo size). You can just use scissors to cut it out, too. Next up is a little pillow box pouch I made for one of my BFF's. Her birthday is today and I got her a Pandora bead, put it in the pouch and added her mongram to the ribbon. This time used the tag frame image. I was able to punch this one out using my Small Tag punch by SU.

Keep on hoppin', enjoy all the inspiration. I know there will be LOTS of it!

From here head on over to the Uber talented Heather B. Happy Hip Hoppin'! Hugs, Lisa

It's Hip Hop Day!

In honor of Hip Hop Thursday I'm sharing my Unity creations from yesterday. I used my pretty new American Craft dp as my inspiration for these two cards. I'm keeping it super short today since there is a lot of blog hoppin' to do. This first card is my fave of the day. I used pink pirouette, kiwi kiss and baja breeze for my color combo and the SCS Wednesday sketch challenge to pull it all together. I watercolored the circles on the tree and added little brads to accent and embellish. This is just a fun card created with the Giggle Grove set. The second card here uses paper from the same line by American Craft so I used the same color scheme. The layout for this one comes from the oh-so-talented Amber. This quote is one of my all time favorites and I just love when I get to use it on a card. The cool thing about both of these sets is that you can get them from Mandy over at Limelight. Check it out, they have an awesome assortment of Unity stamps as well as a ton of other great products and stamps. Right now Halloween stuff is on sale and she is adding to her Christmas stock daily! Hugs,

I love Polka Dots!

Yes, I do. They are almost always the right accent to any card. I found some leftover close to cocoa dsp (retired SU pack, can't remember the name of it) and used it on two different cards this week. Thursday was the Unity Stamp Co.'s Hip Hop party so I played along with two of their challenges. The first challenge was to use the colors of Unity. If you have been to their website and have seen their logo you know it is full of dots and created with browns and you turquoise! The next challenge just called for a card with polka dots-any kind, color, and any amount! I kept mine fairly simple since I wanted to highlight the sentiment. Unity has these awesome single stamps with beautiful, motivational words of wisdom. This is one of my favorites and at some point I will create a framed piece of artwork with this quote. I used markers to color the different words. See how I off-set the image and mounted it crooked. I did that on purpose. You know why? Yep, you guessed it. I stamped this image completely crooked. I was so aggravated with myself and instead of redoing the whole thing I decided I could mount it this way and no one would know (well, except you all, since now I told you, lol!). I always tell my customers, mistakes aren't mistakes, just a reason for embellishment (and in this case, creative placement!). Hope you have a wonderful Friday! Hugs,
