Happy Birthday Taylored Expressions

Taylored Expressions is celebrating its 8th birthday with some fun party favors!

These include everything from the exclusive WISH BIG stamp & die combo set I’ve used today, to patterned paper packs, ink, and more! Visit the TE Blog for all the special offers and for your chance to win a fun prize!

I was beyond excited when Taylor asked me if I would like to join in on the birthday fun! I love the new Wish Big stamp & Die combo set. Those bubble letters are something I was never able to master in grade school and junior high, you know, when you doodled in your notebook, but I can stamp them like a pro! lol! I colored them in rainbow colors with my copic markers. I used Oreo Premium Hybrid ink to complete the sentiment with the word "big".

I used the balloons from the Wish Big Stamp & Die combo to create a festive background on my card. I was going for a tone on tone look to my background so I cut some Salt Water Taffy card stock and was going to use Salt Water Taffy premium dye ink but decided I wanted some texture and shine to my card, so I clear embossed each of the balloons.

I used the largest Frame in Frame Cutting plate with the green polka dot paper from Rainbow Brights 6x6 paper pack  to frame it all up. I accented it with some fun sequins from the Build A Scene Halloween tube. Those silver stars are my favorite.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope it's a great one.

Color Throwdown 408-Cake

Hi, everyone!   Lynn is here with your colors for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. With it being back to school time that some primary colors would be fun to create with for challenge #408.
Remember, we're using generic colors, so as long as you use the color values shown: red, yellow, green and blue, you'll be good...the color police won't come after you--this is all about having fun! And, feel free to incorporate any other neutrals you need in your design, as well. If you upload to a public gallery, please use the key words CTD408, and please use#ctd408 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites. Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of the post, please link to your specific post, not a generic link to your blog--all of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, so check 'em out to be sure. Importantly, though, no digital designs--only digital images that are printed off and colored with be allowed.  We can't wait to see what you come up with this week.

I played up the chevrons and birthday cake from the inspiration photo and created this festive and fun birthday card. I love how just a handful of products can produce a pretty card. This one uses all Reverse Confetti goodies.

Main image panel is the Documented Confetti Cut and then I added another smaller rounded rectangle element with the Happy Pretty Panel Confetti Cut. I used the solid Class Act Confetti Cut to line the back drop with some Lemon Drop card stock. I completed the greeting a stamp from Whole Lotta Happy. The cake is from Candles 'n Confetti.

Color Throwdown 407-Smile

Hi, everyone!  It’s Lori is our hostess for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.  The colors from this week's inspiration photo are lime green, teal, and yellow.  The colors are generic and it's fine if you want to add in other neutrals.

Once you’ve finished your card or other paper crafting project using the colors, add a direct link to your creation using the linky tool at the bottom of the post.  And, don’t forget to use the keyword CTD407 if you upload your project to an online gallery. You can use the keywords #ctd407 and #colorthrowdown if you upload to any social media sites (yes, we're on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!).  All of the challenge "rules" are in the right sidebar in case you have any questions.

I used one of my all time favorite sets from Reverse Confetti for today's card, Later Gator. That gator! OMG....it's adorable. I used the Lator Gator Confetti Cuts to cut him out after I colored him up with my copic markers. I used the amazing All Framed Up Confetti Cuts to do just that, frame up my main image panel. Keep checking back, it's back ordered right now. Jen will be restocking it as soon as she can, I am sure.

I created a sweet little teal mound for him to stand on with the Edgers Confetti Cuts. I then decided on another fun detail with two tones of lime card stock and the Leafy die. Sentiment is super simple, stamped in Tropical Teal Premium Dye ink onto the speech bubble from Jolly Holiday Confetti Cuts.

Reverse Confetti August SFYTT

Hello Fetti Fans! There is still time to play along with the Reverse Confetti August SFYTT! Going back to work and school this week, I put the adorable new Worm Wishes Stamp set to work.  I colored up the pencil with copics and used the Worm Wishes Confetti Cut to cut it out. I layered it up on to the larger solid circle from Circles 'n Scallops and the pierced circle from Flowers For Mom.

I used the tiny pinking edge from Edge Essentials to add in a bit of texture and visual interest in the background. Love that set. I tied on a solid twine bow in Honeydew to finish it off.

Here is the sketch

and a few details you might want to know about the challenge.
There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.
The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 29th. The SFYTT button is  posted on the sidebar.  Click on it to be taken to the current SFYTT post and link list.

Curtain Call-Aug. 15 Flamingo

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!
 You should come play along!

Of course I couldn't help myself and I reached for the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp set and matching Fabulous Flamingo Confetti Cuts. I used the Thanks Tag Confetti Cuts for a pretty layer for my bird and used the same set for my die cut word. I cut three of them from Green Room cardstock and glued them together. In the background I added the green polka dots from Whole Lotta Dots

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!
