Papertrey Ink Anniversay Challenge

I'm sneaking one in. I've been a lover and follower of Papertrey ink since their beginnings, 5 yrs. ago.  I wanted to join in on the Annivesary celebration. Day 5 Challenge-Pinterest

So I've got a card to share that was inspired by this wood sign that I pinned on Pinterest.
While I looove the giant yellow heart, I didn't have any PTI hearts to work with.  I also needed a birthday card for my middle guy. So I used the PTI Woodgrain Impression plate (one of my FAVE PTI products) and the cute airplane from Fly Away.  I also added a bit of hills and grass with the cool die called In the Meadow.  I also am paying homage to the very first PTI set...Papertrey.

You can see I stamped the airplane in Summer Sunrise..... it's my big yellow heart. I kept the rustic theme going with some distressing to the edges of my kraft cs.  It did need a little something else, so I added a ribbon tab and a few buttons.  Then I stopped and I like it.  I know my son will, too. Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Posse....Trendy

I admit... I haven't been so active in the little Papertrey Ink blogger group, The Papertrey Posse,  I am a part of.  I try,  and like most things aside from my DT work with stamping, I go in spurts.  I am proud to be  a part of this group. It fun and motivating and I sure do a lot more stalking than I do talking with the group.

Since I had my Papertrey stamps out last week, I decided to jump into the June challenges....there is only a week left of June, sooooo, what better timing. It helped that my friend Becky did her challenge and that  gave me a gentle reminder. Anyway the challenge this month was to use something trendy. Thanks Cathy for the great challenge.
I used the new Animal Print impression plate....animal print always seems to be trendy! Must be if PTI put it out, lol! anyway I love it and used it as a unique backdrop for my pretty card. I'm convinced the zebra and leopard/cheetah print can be used on almost any type of card!

I am loving this combo-blueberry sky, enchanted evening, kraft and  New Leaf! Not my usual colors....but I'm diggin' them.

other PTI product:
Turning a New Leaf die
Turning a New Leaf stamp set
Signature greetings stamp set
beautiful blooms #3 die
Blueberry sky saddle stitched ribbon

Thanks for stopping by. Lots to do this week and lots to share.  I'm busy gearing up for the MFT teaser posts that start on Friday.  Tonight is  TCP release party! I'm hoping to make the fun!

After yesterday's post and having to pull my card, I decided I better get something else posted today. So here's my Make it Monday card for this week.  The challenge was touse Heat Embossing to your card.  I embossed all the stamped imges on my card. I do adore these tickets and the ticket die is so fun. I made this one in a festive colors scheme-red, enchanted evening, and new leaf all balanced out and toned down with some kraft card stock.
PTI product you'll find:
Just the Ticket stamp set
polka dot basics background
ric rac die
ticket die
bakers twine

See you back here on Monday!

Blending with Totally Hues

Okay, Heather.....I wasn't so keen on these colors this week, BUT I trusted you and think I did an okay job with them.
The latest challenge from Heather in her Totally Hues#4 color challenges is to use: plum pudding, lemon tart, raspberry fizz and new leaf!
I combined them with this week's Make It Monday challenge which was to use a Blending Technique. You can see the video tutorial HERE.
Thanks to Becky for the sweet surprise package this weekend, I was able to use one of the new tags she die cut for me. Stamp sets are Hello, Friend and Tin Types background set.
What do you think?  The more I look at it, the more it grows on me. It's fun and Springy! thanks for stopping by.

Colored 'lil Houses... Make it Monday

Another week, another Make it Monday challenge. This week we were asked to color on non-neutral cs.  Copics make this easy to do, blending is a little different, but you can quickly color or hightlight an image by stamping on colored cs first. The Papertrey Ink Blog has a great tutorial on this.
I pulled out the sweet, whimsical set, Wonderfully Whimsical.  It's been a long time since I pulled this one out. The images are small, so it was harder to show shading with my copics, but I did.
PTI card stock I used was Spring Rain, Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist and Spring Moss.  You'll see I added a little outline to the clouds, and softened that line with the colorless blender.  I also added a bit of accent to my designer paper scallop.
Oh, and I couldn't resist adding in a ric rac border.  Gotta get those die-cuts in. Thanks for stopping by today.

Papertrey, Spring, and Foam!

Sooooo, what do these 3 things have in common?  How about my card!

I used this weeks Make It Monday challenge (use fun foam) and the Papertrey Posse March Petite challenge (make a Spring Card) to create this cheery card. I loooove the color combo-Spring Moss, Plum Pudding, Lavender Moon and a touch of Aqua Mist.

PTI products you'll find:
Tag-its #1 stamp set
Limitless Layers dies
text impression plate
double banner die
lavender moon gorsgrain ribbon
bitty dots dp

I didn't have any fun foam on hand, except for a small white ghost I found in my stash. So I die cut that into the double banner and stamped my sentiment on it.  If you can't tell.....I LOOOOVE that banner die!

PTI-Make it Monday and glittered Strips

I got my box of new PTI goodies today. Love happy mail day. I got busy with this week's Make it Monday challenge-glittered strips. This was sooooo easy and I do love the effect!

I also decided to play along with Heather's new  color challenge.
Totally Hues #2:
Aqua Mist
Ocean Tides
Raspberry Fizz
Dark Chocolate

I love the new Tag Sale #4 die, and the Hello, Friend stamp set with matching Friendly Flower die....it all works together so well. I also couldn't resist my FAVE double ended banner.

I'm also happy to say, I've been invited to join the Papertrey Posse Blog Group. We're just a group of crafty friends who love to share PTI products. We have monthly just-for-fun challenges...come join us.

I used lots of my FAVE products here today, which is our Feb. Parade of Blogs Challenge. This card is going out to a dear friend of mine who has been dealing with a lot of life drama! I hope this makes her smile.

a little Papertrey Ink.....Make it Monday Challenge

I like to consider myself an equal opportunity stamper ☺ but finding the time to use all my precious stamps is hard.  I did squeeze in this card to play along in the new Papertrey Ink Make It Monday series. I missed the first one, during their birthday celebration, but I didn't want to miss 2 in a row. So here it is. The challenge was to use a Vellum Sentiment Strip somewhere on your card.

I cut one with the Double Flag Banner die and stamped a HB sentiment from the Just the Ticket stamp set. I added a few handmade tickets, a strip of ric rac (on dotty biscotti dp) and mounted it all on my FAVE tag sale 1 die. Color combo here is: new leaf, Fresh Linen, dark chocolate, and a touch of Summer Sunrise

This one is for my new BIL and I can't wait to get it in the mail to him. It's a little late, but I know he'll feel good that I even remembered!

Thanks for stopping by today. Sure felt good to use some of my PTI goodies. It also helps justify the new order I just placed ;) There were some amazing products released this month!

Graduation!

So, I'm sure most graduations are about over, just in case you need inspiration for a last minute card I've got one for you today. I made this last weekend for my neighbor. He is off to France for a graduation trip and then will be attending Miami of Ohio in the fall. I'm in such awe of the boys my neighbor has turned out to the world. This is her 3rd son to graduate and they are all bright, caring, and fantastic young men. I only hope I can do the same with mine! I used a CAS layout, some Jilliebean dp, and a great go-to sentiment set by Papertrey Ink. I even did up the inside with some MFT stamps.

Have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday!

All Whimsical and Oh-So-Cute!

Finally I have a day where I can share this card. I made it last week, just minutes after opening my new PTI order from the March Release. It must have been a great release, because my box took a little longer to get to me than usual. Let's just say It was WORTH the wait!!! The new Hawaiian Shore color is fabulous (now if I can just get my hands on some buttons in that color-they were sold out by 6:30AM-sooner I'm sure. I just didn't wait up for the release, lol!), I love the new dies, impression plates (although I am still partial to embossing folders), and then there is this adorable new Wonderfully Whimical stamp set. Ahhhhh! It screams cuteness! I almost passed on it (new items add up fast in my shopping cart), but at $15 I knew I had to have it. There are a TON of images in the set, and although they are a lot smaller than I expected, they are great to work with. I can't wait to play with it more. Hope this card brings you smiles today. See you back here tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa

Emboss Resist with Papertrey

I couldn't resist this challenge, hahah, NO pun intended!!! I love any excuse to get my Papertrey stamps inky. Nichole is celebrating the 3rd birthday of her fabulous stamp company. An AMAZING prize is involved, too!

I used Damask Design and Polka Dot Basics on this card. The colors are Melon Berry, Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate and kraft. I love how those polka dots peak through the fleur-de-lis (did I spell that right?)! I stamped the tiny dots in dark chocolate ink on rustic cream cs, then stamped the fleur-de-lis with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I finished it off with a sponging of Melon Berry ink. It's a great way to add another dimension of texture and color. You can really see it well in the upper right side of the card. Nichole has her first How-TO video tutorial on this technique. Check it out!
Scroll down for my FWF post!!!

Stamp Something-Favorite Layouts!

This the last of our favorites month over at Stamp Something. I use a layout like this all the time with my 4 1/4 inch square cards. I'll move the image panel around a bit, but the background and ribbon are similar with a bit of scallop sticking out. The stamps are an oldie but a goodie from PTI, Wise Owl. The colors are for a color challenge (cream, lt.orange, orange, burgandy-also include Polka Dots in your design) for the new online magazine, Embellish. There is some cute stuff over there, so go check it out! Before you do that, make sure you stop by the Stamp Something Blog and come play along. See you back here for my Untiy, Friends with Flair post. Hugs, Lisa

CAS Tuesday!

I was an over achiever yesterday and stamped 3 CAS cards. We had a great sketch to work with by Cookiebaker. I used this card of hers to create these cards of mine ('m only showing 2 today, the third you'll see tomorrow with a MFT post). Here is an SUO version. I flipped the sketch and finally used the new Sleighbells ribbon-it's not just for holiday card making!
and then there's this earthy card made with some Unity stamps of course. These come from the Sept. Customer KOTM.
This blue is not your average navy cs, it is the gorgeous Enchanted evening by Papertrey ink. I combined it with some spring rain bitty dots dp and soft suede cs from SU. I was flipping through my swatch book and decided on this three-some.
If you want one of these great color tools, go see Becky. She's got all the deets about them, or you can see my post here. See you all tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

More Bling!

I love how this card turned out. I mean how can you go wrong with this set? I think it is my FAVE right now, it is just too fun. I love being able to change the colors up with different buttons. On this one I used the blush and melon berry buttons. Did you see the new colors (of buttons) coming on the 15th? Now I need to go buy more button jars. This one of my CAS cards with bling I did for Monday's challenge. Probably a few extra layers than most CAS cards, but they are simple layered squares with rounded corners. The card was super quick to make. All Papertrey Ink products on this one. Oh, and just so you know, I'm stretching out my CAS cards (remember I told you I made 3) I've been busy cutting cs for my card class on Sunday. I'll have a sneak peek of those when I get a chance. Hugs. Lisa

Saturday Morning Post- Buttons Galore!!!

Good morning fellow stampers. Is it just me, or does it seem a little quiet out in blog land this last week? I hope that means you are all enjoying the summer. I'll keep this short. I've been playing with my buttons thanks to the new PTI set, Everyday Button Bits. I'm so glad I splurged and bought this set. It really is such an ingenious idea for a stamp set. I did these two on Wednesday. Among many things I love about this set, I have to say the sentiments are awesome!!! There are 11 (I think) and they are made to pair perfectly with the images. Plus I love how there are a mix of fonts, I just love that!
This card I did using the sketch challenge on SCS from this week. I had fun digging through my buttons looking for different sizes. I finished off each button in a different way. Hugs and Sunshine! -Lisa

An half hour late...Oh well!

I finished this card this afternoon and decided to wait to photograph it and upload it. It's for Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge #12. Well, we ended up spending the evening with friends and I didn't get the kiddos in bed and asleep until almost 10:30 (EST). I still thought I was good, so I photographed it (sorry for the bad lighting, I'll try to re-shoot later with some sunlight) and then checked her blog. I missed the deadline by 33 minutes. Shucks!!! But, of course I'll share it anyway....I used all PTI-spring moss, raspberry fizz, and the new scarlet jewel. Oh, and the layout is this week's Card Patterns sketch 24. Check that!OMG! This new set is soooo stinkin' CUTE!!! You know I love buttons, but now I can use them for other things than embellishments for my ribbon or centers of flowers. I'll have more to share this weekend, since I started a few other cards I didn't get to finish today! If you haven't seen the new Everyday Buttons and Bits stamp set from PTI, GO LOOK here, too! All right, I'm off to bed. Actually I'm going to finish watching the Bachelorette: The Men Tell All from Monday night. Man I love our DVR, what did I ever do without it??? Hugs, Lisa

PTI Blog Hop

As usual this date always sneaks up on me. It's Papertrey Ink blog hop time. I finished my card earlier today and I love it. Hope you do too. I glanced at the challenge the other day (find a summer inspiration piece) and then I stumbled onto this summer image that inspired me. It is this relaxing scene from Potterybarn. I just love the colors-the blues of the water, browns from that comfy chair, and the pop of yellow with those lanterns and the beer! I also loved the movement of the waves, the lines and curves of the chair. This is what inspired me to create this card. I really wanted to use the boat image from Men of Life, but I don't have it, so I used what I had. Can't go wrong with flowers. I used Beautiful blooms, Papertrey (love this original PTI sentiment set), and polka dot basics for this card. Here's a close up of the details on the flowers. I'm off to check out all the other summer inspiration. Come join the fun in the PTI forum. Hugs, Lisa

More PTI-Rapsberry Suite Color Challenge!

I'll leave the chit chat to a minimum today. I made this card for Dawn's Raspberry Suite #7 Color Challenge. Check out all the details HERE!
I knew right away I wanted to ink up the yummy strawberries from my Green Thumb set. I have to revert to my "old" PTI sets since I haven't had enough money to buy any of the new ones. You know, why? Because I am addicted to their ribbons and colors and other accessories (ummm, can you say, buttons!). By the time I add up all the PTI accessories I want, I have nothing left to spend on stamps. I'm okay with that, though, I am just using what I have! So, here's my card. I added a bit of Damask designs to the strip of Spring Moss (I thought is looked kind of leafy, and went with the strawberry theme. Made it a bit more elegant, than cute-sie!). The layout is this week's Card Patterns sketch! It is a very cool layout that can be flipped and turned in any direction and still looks great! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Lisa

PTI Celebrates Yellow!

It's time for the Papertrey Ink blog hop for the month of May. This month is flying by, but that's okay when you have events like this to look forward to. Never a dull moment in blog land, is it? This month Nichole asked us to embrace the color yellow-any shade or shades of it. I always say I am not a fan of this color, but I have to admit, that every time I use yellow I LOVE the end result. I do have to say that Summer Sunrise is one of my favorite PTI colors. It looks great with so many of their other colors. (avocado and raspberry fizz are two I love to pair it with). Today I combined Summer Sunrise with Lemon Tart and Melon Berry. I even threw in a splash of Ripe Avocado for fun (and it was appropriate for the leaf image).
I pulled out Little Lady and used some big shot dies to make this bright cheery thank-you card. I carried the dot theme throughout the card with some lemon tart polka dots on the card base, the punched holes on the left scalloped border, and the stamped dots of the trail of the ladybug. I love being able to curve a sentiment (like I did with the "with thanks") with ease using acrylic stamps. To give the bug a bit more dimension, I stamped her on the white cs, and then again on a scrap piece of white. I cut out the "wings", gave them a little fold, and attached them with dimensionals. I'm off to see the other wonderful creations in all shades of yellow. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy hopping! Hugs, Lisa

Finally! A Raspberry Suite Color Challenge

For whatever reason, I have not been able to get Dawn McVey's color challenges completed. She comes up with the best combos of colors and it has only taken me six challenges to actually do one. I made sure to play this week. I used the PTI colors she suggested, but you could use whatever you have that is close. I used, Chocolate chip, berry sorbet, aqua mist, and white. I made it easy on myself and worked with a sketch posted on the Clean&Simple blog. Check out the Fall to Layout #42. I pulled out one of the first PTI sets I ever got, Beautiful Blooms and came up with this. I've gotten lots of new goodies this week so I am having fun playing. The first person to tell me what is new-to-me on this card will get it (the card, not the product). Thanks for looking.

Hugs, Lisa
