SugarPea Designs-Sugar Sketch 47

This month has flown by! It is my last Sugar Sketch with the SPD crew. I am so grateful for the chance to design with these amazing stamps and dies. Today's card is my thank-you to Wendy and the SugarPea Design team for having me.

The Thanks Sugar Cut is so fun to work with. I cut it three times and layered them together for thickness.  I added it to a custom stamped panel with an argyle from Spare Me

I accented it with some stars and the pierced flag from the Gift Tag Sugar Cut. If you are looking for more ways to use that tag die set, be sure to check out all my cards for the March Sketches. I  used it on each card and in a different way. Love stretching my products that way.

Here is this week's sketch.

SugarPea Designs Sugar Sketch 46-Shell-ebrate

The month is just flying by. It's another Wednesday and that means I have another card for you all using the current SugarPea Designs Sugar Sketch. Thankfully there are 5 Wednesdays in March, so I get to hang with you one more week after this. Here is my card for this week. I used the sweet little crab stamp from SeaSide Wishes.

Following the sketch, I used the Gift Tag Sugar Cut. I love the rounded edges of this tag. I used the fishtail flags, snipped in half to follow the sketch. I also added a strip of washi tape for an additional accent. I love diagonal stripes.

Here is the sketch for this week.

Sugar Pea Designs Sugar Sketch 45

It's Wednesday and it's my third week with the Sugar Pea Designs Sugar Sketch. I flipped this week's sketch and used a combo of stamps and die cut word to create the stripes from sketch.

I used the My Hero stamp set and the stars are from the Gift Tag Sugar Cuts

The Thanks Sugar Cut die  was used as one of my stripes and finished the greeting with a sentiment from My Hero. Here is a closer look at the cutie pie hero. I used copics to color him up and then did a little fussy cutting to cut him out.

SPD Sugar Sketch44- Bless Your Nest

**please scroll down for my CTD Post**

It's my second week with the Sugar Pea Designs team and the weekly Sugar Sketch Challenge. This week I used the adorable Tweet Friend stamp set. I used a circle die to cut out just part of the image, focusing on the sweet little birds nest. It's a great way to get some extra mileage out of your stamp sets.

I stamped a sentiment above the bird nest image and then tucked in a fishtail flag from the Gift Tag Sugar Cut. I finished off the card with a scattering of sequins.

Here is this week's sketch. We hope you come play along.

Sugar Pea Designs March Sugar Sketch Guest Designer

***please scroll down for my LID release project***

I am super excited about this news. I am joining the Sugar Pea Designs team for the month of March as their Sugar Sketch Guest Designer. I can't wait to play along with the sketches each week. I am starting off the month with one of my favorite stamps, Rice Rice Baby

You'll see used bits and pieces from the Gift Tag-Sugar Cuts die to fill in the sketch elements. It is really fun to use what you have and try to stretch your supplies. I was amazed at how I used this one die on most of my cards this month. I love it! It isn't just for gift tags, that's for sure!

I colored up the sweet little penguin with my copics, cut him out and popped him up on the circle panel with some foam adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment (LOVE IT!) on to  the tag and tied on a solid twine bow. A scattering of sequins finish this one off.

Here is this week's sketch:

I hope you'll join me all month long with the Sugar Sketch Challenges. You can find all the details on the the Sugar Pea Designs Blog

Thanks for hanging with me! See you next week with another fun SPD Sketch.

Happy Birthday Sugar Pea Designs Blog Hop

Happy birthday and 1 year Anniversary to Sugar Pea Designs. I was thrilled when Wendy asked me to be a part of the celebration! I adore their stamps and love to see this stamp company expanding their line. It's been a fabulous year and I can't wait to see where SPD goes!

Hopefully you have arrived from Brianna's blog, Happy Scrapper. If not then, please start back at the beginning with the Sugar Pea Designs blog. You don't want to miss any of the details.

I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets, My Hero, to make this birthday card. I also used the current SPD Sketch Challenge for my layout. I simply flipped it, cuz I love making top folding cards.

Once I cut that strip of Limelight paper, and added the sentiment, I decided it needed a little bit of something extra. So I flipped through my Sugar Pea stamps for a star and pulled out Pure Magic.  I did some tone on tone stamping and scattered them around the panel, and just what it needed.

You will surely want to join the hop. There is so much wonderful SPD creations, plus there are prizes!! YES, it's Sugar Pea Designs birthday and Wendy is giving out the gifts!!

  • a $100 Gift Certificate to someone who comments on all of the blogs in the hop
  • There is a link up, too....come play along with the birthday hop and you have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the SPD store. Details HERE
  • Want to SHOP??!!!  SPD is offering a coupon code: BDAY01 for customers to receive 10% off their entire purchase (valid until January 24th)
  • Blog hop and  LinkUp ends midnight, January 28th
  • Winners will be announced on Feb 1st.

  • I think that's all from me! Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Now off you go. Piali is up next!

    Curtain Call {tropical trip}

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

I tried to use the bright fun colors from the sample but I was drawn to  more muted tones. I did play up the red and used an arrow die that reminded me of those wooden signs. With the beach theme, I thought of this sweet girl from Seaside Wishes by SugarPea Designs.

I used a wood grain impression plate to give some texture to the card front. I also pieced up her dress, while coloring the rest of her with my copics.

Here's a closer look at the sign.  I wrapped it with some red burlap twine.

The sketch is the current SugarSketch 09
I'm linking it up. Come check out what the rest of the DT did.

    SugarPea Designs Sketch Challenge 8

**Please Scroll Down for my Lil' Inker Design July Release Post**

Soooo, I'm a little late. Rarely happens around here, but I got my dates mixed up. sorry! I do have a quick sample for you using the current SugarPea Designs Sketch. It's a good one, and I know you'll have some fun with it.

I made a simple birthday card using the adorable new Great Catch stamp set. While I love coloring these great stamps, they also look great on their own..

Here I kept the sweet little fishin' Raccoon neutral. Stamping him in gray in on some Grout Gray card stock. I did add some very light, subtle shading with a T1, R1, and G40  along the edges to make him pop a little. I did color up the fish and added some glitter.

I also stamped his arm and the fishing pole, cutting them out and piecing them on top of the original stamped image. I added a bit of thread to give a realistic look to his fishing line.

Here's a quick look at the sentiment. I stamped that in Hot Fudge ink

    The rules are very simple…
    • Create a new card or project using the SugarSketch provided.
    • SugarPea Design stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :)

    SugarPea Designs {You're So Punny}

One of the many things I love about SugarPea Designs stamps are the fun, cute, punny sentiments included in most of their sets. It's time for the SPD Challenge and this time we are getting Punny! Join me and the rest of the SPD gang for the SPD07-You're So Punny challenge.

We are a sushi loving family. Sadly, we don't get to eat it very often because with 3 growing boys, eating sushi means ordering LOTS of sushi and THAT is expensive. I've tried making it at home. It's not the same.  So we save it for special occasions.

With this cute stamp set, Rice Rice Baby,  I can at least have some sushi on paper, whenever I want. I made this for my sister's birthday that is coming up. She loves sushi, too. I thought this was perfect.....and THAT punny sentiment, well it's perfect!

Here is a close up of my cutie penguin. I colored him with some subtle tones of gray Copic markers, and then pieced up his headpiece and sash with my Let's polka dp. I cut him out and popped him up with some dimensionals.

    Check out the challenge!
We only have a few rules…
    • Play along with ANY stamp you’d like – Winner is chosen at random to keep things fair, but if the winners project features a SugarPea Designs stamp we will increase the voucher to $15
    • Feel free to combine our challenge with any other challenge(s)
    • Upload to your blog or other online gallery using keyword: SPD07 so we can easily find your work.
    • Add your name and link to your card or project in the InLinkz shown on the SugarPea Designs Blog.

I am still having a blast guesting with SPD! I hope you'll check out this challenge and come play along.
