Color Throwdown #427-XOXO

Hi, everyone!   Lori is our hostess for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.  The colors from this week's inspiration photo are mint green, pink, and aqua.  The colors are generic and it's fine if you want to add in other neutrals.

Once you’ve finished your card or other paper crafting project using the colors, add a direct link to your creation using the linky tool at the bottom of the post.  And, don’t forget to use the keyword CTD427 if you upload your project to an online gallery. You can use the keywords #ctd427 and #colorthrowdown if you upload to any social media sites (yes, we're on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!).  All of the challenge "rules" are in the right sidebar in case you have any questions.

I did some stenciling in the background with some Pistachio ink from SU! and the Hearts Stencil from Reverse Confetti. I used more of the mint green and two shades of aqua (RC Aqua and Iced Aqua) for my XOXO die cuts. Gosh, I love the XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts

I added in the pretty Piggy Bank pink with some hearts from the heart border included in the XOXO Hearts. Super cute, dontcha think?? and super easy....love that!

Before you head off to create, here’s some inspiration from our talented team to get you started.

Color Throwdown 426-hello

Hello Color Throwdown  fans! I get to be the hostess this week with our new color challenge, CTD426. I have gone with a  combo of Grey, Red, and Kraft. I just love the rustic feel of these colors in the inspiration photo, it's perfect for these winery days of January. Remember, we do use generic colors, and please feel free to add in neutrals as you wish!

One lucky participant will be randomly chosen to join us as Guest Star Stamper on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 for Color Throwdown #428.  That person will be announced on Tuesday, January 31st.  Good luck and thanks for playing along!

Remember, if you upload your creations to a public gallery, please use keyword CTD426, and please use #CTD426 and #colorthrowdown on social media so that we can find your gorgeous creations!  When linking up your creation using the linky tool below, please be sure to link directly to your specific post, not just to your blog.  All of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, and you can always check there to be sure!

I had totally different plans for this challenge. Well, I spied the sweet little deer from the  Jolly Holiday set and I decided he needed some ink. I actually water colored him on to Cloud White card stock with some of my Zig Clean Color Brush markers. I then used the Jolly Holiday Confetti Cuts to cut him out. I couldn't resist mounting him onto a tag, one of my go-to things to do with RC Confetti Cuts. This time I used the Bar Tag Layer Confetti Cut and then stamped some of the trees from the Bearing Gifts stamp set

I stamped the sentiment from Figure of Speech in Salsa ink and then used the matching Figure of Speech Confetti Cuts to pop it out. I added a strip of Salsa card stock along the bottom and hit it with some of those darling dots from Edge Essentials

Reverse Confetti-Jan. 2017 SFYTT

Hello Fetti Fans! It the first SFYTT for the new year! So glad you are here.  I have a with a card for the January SFYTT with the Reverse Confetti crew. There is still time to play along. Come check it out.   I had fun with some new and old RC products for today's card. I just adore this ellie from the Coffee and You stamp set

I made the elephant my square layer from the sketch and then added the die cut "xoxo" from the XoXo Hearts Confetti Cuts. I tried to follow the sketch and make those layers a little wonky, but I just couldn't do it. So I squared them up and liked the look much better for this card. It's ok to use the sketch as a guide. :)

I also added the layered hearts from the same set. Love them so much! The pretty plaid paper is from the True Love 6x6 paper pack and it's all mounted onto a Piggy Bank card stock card base. Here is a closer look at the detail.

Here is the sketch. Be sure to stop on by the RC Blog for all the challenge details. I can't wait to see what you have created this month.

and the products I used today

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. It's nice to have my boys home another day.
have a great one!

Curtain Call-Icicle

This week we are inviting you to join us for...

kidscraftroom.com

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

After a short break during the holidays, we are happy to be back with you all. I pulled out a few of MFT stamps and Die-namics for my card today. I just love these polar bears from what looks to be a retried set, Cool Day. The Happy Birthday to You Die-namics is such a great bold way to add a sentiment. I stamped a few snowflakes and added some sequins.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

I looove, love LOVE these new heart balloons. The stamp set is called Love You More  and the coordinating dies are called Love You More Hearts & Balloons. I used the dies to cut the Love You 6x6 paper pack.

I added them to the top of some watercolor paper that I ran through my Vagabond with the Tribal Chic Cover Plate. Oh, how I love that die. I stamped a sentiment and some random hearts from the Love You More set

I love this next one for the white on white and pop of color from the white embossed Filled Heart stamp set. I added color with my Zig Clean Color markers and then cut out the heart with the Dual Stitched Heart & Kisses word die set.

I used one of the quilted stitched cover plates and then added an Anytime Tag for a beautiful rounded layer to add my water colored heart. I tied on a bit of bakers twine for an easy embellishment.

Day 2 Jan. Lil' Inker Design Release

New Release from Lil' Inker Designs! We are spreading the love with lots of beautiful dies and stamps. We have three days of Love to share. I hope you'll hang with me, because I can't wait to show you these awesome new goodies.

It's soooo exciting around here! It's time for the Lil' Inker Designs January release. All new products are available NOW, but you'll want to hop along with us.  I know you are going to love it. Be sure to start back at the LID Blog for all the release details and lots of pretty eye candy.

I have two more lovey cards for you today created with only dies! And I was able to make two cards from one die....let me show you how! it was easy with the new Fringe Scallop Heart dies. I still had some of the super cute Love You paper in my stash, I cut a piece of the heart pattern to fit the front of an A2 card base and then used one of the larger Fringe Scallop Heart dies to cut out a window right in the middle. I added a layer of clear acetate behind it and foam dimensionals to create a shaker card. Interactive cards are always a good idea!

I then added the Love You More Border in Salsa card stock along the bottom. I trimmed off a little from the edges for a perfect fit!

So, once I finished the shaker card, I had the left over pretty Fringe Scallop Heart laying on my desk, just begging to be turned into a card (it was the positive piece from the window I cut. I cut a Silly Stitched panel from water color paper and added a simple soft pink color washed background for this pretty heart. I use a bone folder to help lift up those sweet little fringe pieces.

I think my favorite part of this card is the amazing word die. I loved the holiday script dies so I was super excited to see more added to the line up. This set is called Brush Script Valentine Word dies. I couldn't resist cutting it from silver glitter paper. Love!

Here is another look at the new products (and some of the old) I used today!
