Curtain Call-Melon notes

The second inspiration challenge is now up with the new Curtain Call Challenge Blog. I couldn't resist the pretty colors and I was drawn to the feathers on the little purse.

I also knew I wanted to use the very cool Stitched  Mats-Circles dies from Lil' Inkers. They were out of stock since they were first released and I snatched them up quick as soon as Laura added them back in the store. They arrived yesterday and I created 3 cards with them. yeah!! they are soooo cool to work with.

Here is my card.

One of the things I love about these circle dies is that the stitch marks are added on the positive AND negative of the pieces you cut out.

I had this kraft panel with the gorgeous stitch marks laying in my scrap pile. I couldn't let it go to waste. I then cut out matching sized circles in the pretty papers from Atlantic paper pad and added them into their matching holes. Love that.

A few feathers were cut using the MFT Arrows and Feathers Die-namics and I tied on some hemp twine and added a splattering of sequins. The sentiment is from another Lil' Inkers set, Flags and Tags. It's stamped in Calypso Coral ink.

Here is the inspiration piece from the Curtain Call. Check out the challenge and play along.

CAS29-Anthropologie Inspired

ummmm, have you seen this store? I've always adored it. I love the funky, fresh and chic styles they carry. I've always just window shopped since I don't think I could pull off that style and because the prices are quite expensive for me. I would loooooove to own these boots! A girl could buy a lot of stamps, paper and ribbon with the cost of those. So, why do I bring this up, you ask? It's the source of our inspiration this week in the CAS Challenge forum. Click on bags and shoes to pick your inspiration piece. This clutch, kept calling my name. Kinda drab, I know, but those pleats-yummmy!So, I came up with this card and I have to say it is one of those that is just blah to me. I do love how my pleats came out, so I guess that says something. I used Saraha Sand and Very Vanilla textured cs for this. Come play along, see what you can come up with. Check out the CAS challenges every Monday! Hugs, Lisa

It's been in my head.

I check Beate's Blog daily and I have loved all the Be Inspired challenges she has posted but I just never seem to get a card made for them. This card has been in my head all week and I finally got to put it to paper today. I caved and finally ordered the Polka Dots basics stamp set from PTI. This was the inspiration piece she posted, It is a kate Spade card.
The sketch is from this week's sketch Challenge over at SCS. I cheated though, and made my card a standard A2 size.
I pulled out some of my retired, Au Chocolate paper and used the polka dots in similar colors (soft sky, and PTI Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise) to make little bubbles. I also used a retired hostess set from SU (Along the Same Lines) and this years SAB set, Many Thoughts. I accented some of the bubbles with Crystal Effects. I love this stuff and up until recently hardly ever used it. Try it if you have it, if you don't have it, get it!

Thanks for stoppin by!
