Monster Fun!

You may have spied this card last week. I added it to my SCS gallery and Lydia ended up sharing it on FB. I was quite honored.

I love when you make a card and just have fun doing it. I created this one for the CAS challenge last week, and the paper (Monster Stew) was my inspiration. It was new to me by Jillibean Soup and it really just makes me smile! The monsters are A-dorable, but I also love the great colors and it's double sided, so the flip side always has a fun graphic print that works for any occasion. I got mine at Limelight and I will be using lots of it over the next few weeks, I'm sure.

The paper also made me pull out one of my fun MFT sets, Monsters Ink. This set was a total impulse buy last year. I squealed when it was being peeked during release week and I just had to have it! I've used it a ton, too.

Oh, I almost forgot, the star is also by Jillibean Soup. I just ♥ those corrugated pieces and alphabets they make. Thanks for another great week!

Remember this announcement way back in August? Yeah, my day is finally here. I can not tell you how excited I am that I was even picked to be a guest designer for this fabulous company. I discovered Jillibean while blog hoppin' around. Soon after, my dear friend Becky sent me a surprise package with a sampling of yummy papers!!!! As they say, the rest is history. Ribbon and Limelight!!!

Today I have a fun sketch and product challenge for you by Limelight Papercrafts. Our focus this week is Ribbon! Probably not a challenge for most of you, but have some fun with it. How Bout a Scrapbook Page?

I did a few layouts the other week and held on to them for a week like this. I haven't had much time to be crafty so I always like to have some stuff saved to share with you. I love how this page came together, it's one I submitted for the Jillibean Guest Designer contest.
I did stamp some Unity Bevy of Butterflies on my background, but they got covered up by the fun Jillibean butterflies I cut from the dp. I also squeezed in a real photo of a butterfly, see it at the bottom. The boys love the Butterfly show that comes to our conservatory each spring/summer. Thanks for stopping by! See you tomorrow. Stamp Something-Fave Embellishments!

If you haven't noticed the theme this month at Stamp Something, it's all about favorites. I love that so many of you commented on how hard it was to pick your favorite stamp last week. Moxie Fab-Fun & Cute

I think a lot of my cards are this style. I'm just drawn to cute and whimsical images. It helps when you have just the right paper, like this darling Jillibean Soup dp. It's from their new Christmas line, Grandma's Christmas Soup. I've been using my PTI holiday sets for most of the sentiments I've been stamping. Add a bow, a button and a gingham scalloped edge and this screams cute to me!

Jillibean Bouquet

I made another fun paper flower pot, this time with yummy Jillibean Soup Journaling Sprouts. Jillibean is holding a contest and this is my entry. I've had this idea in my head since I read about the journaling sprout contest and today I finally created it. I used 3 different sized journaling sprouts and punched out the center of two of them to pop them up on an accent color (some of the new SU In Colors-curry, bermuda bay and melon mambo) I also accented with some kaiser rhinestones and a vintage button. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (available July 1). You know me, I love the kraft with the bright cheery colors. Enjoy! Hugs, Lisa

Sports Inspiration

Yesterday I said I would have some soccer inspiration for you all and I guess I could go even more general and say, "here's some sports inspiration" for you. I did this card up for my boys' soccer coaches and then decided to complete a page from Joshua's Spring 08 soccer season using the same papers. The card uses the Fall to Layout #44 and some yummy Jillibean Soup dp. Green card base and twill ribbon are New Leaf from PTI!

So from here I used the sketch from the cool new Scrapbook sketch blog, Scrap and Stamp, started by my friend Alex (along with her friend, Melissa). Here's the sketch, it's such a clean and simple one to work with. I did modify it a bit by leaving off the little accent top piece and by making it a pocket to hold the individual and team photos. My title was done with Basic Grey chipboard alpha and then inked up with some pumpkin craft ink. I rarely use staples in my paper crafting, never have been a fan of them, BUT I must say they actually look good and work well here. I used them to attach my tabs to the photos and to create my pocket for the folders. Not sure if you can see them in this picture, but they are there. Guess, what? There is a prize up for grabs. Limelight Papercrafts is their first sponsor and Mandy is offering up a FAB prize. All you have to do is create a page with this sketch and link it up on the Scrap and Stamp blog. One Post, Some HHH Fun!

Just to be different, I added a different blinkie today! There are lots of fun ones to choose from, Angela has the link on her blog. Anyway, I have a week off from Stamp Something while Denise and Erin are busy making their final picks for the new DT members. I'm staying, though, and couldn't be happier (my stint wasn't up yet)! I spent yesterday and a bit of Wednesday stamping some Unity goodness. I completed the Addicts challenge (create a collage-style card) and the two Hip Hop challenges. Here they are.

I don't consider myself a collage stamper, but I have to say I think this turned out cute. Thanks to that fun Jillibean Soup dp it made the challenge a little bit easier for me. Up next is another card with Jillibean paper, it was for the Unity is Knot Your Ordinary Stamps-you had to use a knot on your card. You can find mine on the button with linen thread.

And one more. We had to use our newst Unity stamp. This is my newest un-inked image I have from Unity. I won it a few weeks back at hip hop and it came in handy for a card I needed to make for a freind that just had twins.I stamped and masked the image to stamp it again. Stamp Something and Hip Hop Hangover!

I'm being lazy this morning. Okay, let's not say lazy, how about creative! I planned on making three cards yesterday and the time just got away from me so I had to combine two of my tasks at hand. This is my Stamp Something card and my post for the Unity HHH post. We'll call it a tow-fer!

First up is my Stamp Something card for this week's challenge, combined with the Oh, My Word Unity Challenge from yesterday's Hip Hop. This week at Stamp Something we are honoring our sweet DT member, Emily. Many of the sketches we have done this past year were created by her, so we thought it only fitting to do another sketch of her's. Try this one, or find a previous sketch from the Stamp Something blog to play along. Be sure to link it up to the Stamp Something blog. Here's how I used the sketch.

Papers are Jillibean soup (ummmmm, their Kraft line is to die for!) and images are from Unity's May KOTM!

The next card was for the Unity in Stars challenge for Hip Hop yesterday. I made this card for my neighbor who is graduating from highschool. I used a fun and retro color combo (kiwi kiss and raspberry fizz) paired up with more Jillibean Soup kraft papers. The distressed star and sentiment are from Unity Stamp Co.( Jan. KOTM and Sentiments O' Simple). I finished it off with some kaiser rhinestones. So it's not your typical graduation card, but that's what I love about it. I could name quite a few people that I consider a hero but I'll leave it at one today, my husband. Seriously, he makes me proud. He is a wonderful husband, and loving father, and such a great provider for our family. He is also an ER physician. I like to say I've got my own George Clooney. LOL! The real ER is not as glamorous as the TV shows like to make it. My DH, Tim, works hard, long, and crazy hours. His schedule is totally random from month to month, heck, it's crazy from day to day! He does save lives everyday and I think that is pretty heroic. He is very modest about this and he would die if he knew I was blogging about it. He is my hero and I am very proud of him. And even though he rarely ever hears back from his patients (he treats them, stabilizes them, and then sends them on to another physician. He doesn't have follow up with any of them), I'm sure there are many people out there that think he is a hero, too. Have a wonderful Memorial Day! I'll be back this weekend, but just in case you aren't, I wanted to say that now. Hugs, Lisa
