Color Throwdown 406-Hello birdie

Hello CTD fans! So glad you are here and can't wait to see what you do with this week's colors. It's Lisa H. bringing you this week's colors for the next Color Throwdown Challenge, CTD406. Oh, yum.....I want to taste that cake! It's so delicious looking. Be inspired by it and create something beautiful. The colors this week are Orange, green, pale pink,and white. As always, these are generic colors, and please feel free to incorporate neutrals in your design!

If you upload your creation to a public gallery, please use keywordCTD406 and #colorthrowdown and #CTD406 on social media sites so we can see what you have created!  When linking up your creation using the Linky Tool below, please be sure to add a link to your specific post, not just a general link to your blog.  Official rules are in the right sidebar for quick and easy reference.  Most importantly, have FUN!

I pulled out some of my favorite LID sets and did some  watercoloring. I added the pretty soft pink and orang-ish flowers, Doodle Daisies,  with white embossing and my Zig Clean Color Brush markers. I added the bird from Hello Beautiful and the wreath and border from Hello Beautiful Dies.

Here is a closer look at the pretty background flowers.

For more inspiration, check out the other design team members' creations below, and get inky! And don't forget to join us over on the CTD Blog. We can't wait to see what you create with these new colors.

Reverse Confetti-Hug in a Mug

Hello friends!  I had taken a little over a week off from stamping because of the holidays and Monday was time to get back at it. I find it easier to jump back into creating after some time off with a warm up card. I like to find a challenge for my starting point and pick a stamp set I love. Then I see how it all comes together from there. How do you get started after some time off??

 I used the current MFT color challenge. I loved the combo and it felt warm and cozy for me, so I reached for my coffee themed stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti. It makes me happy that all 4 coffee sets from RC coordinate together. I started with Caffeinated Cups,stamping the mug and then cutting it out with the Caffeinated Cups Confetti Cuts

The little foam art is from Be A Barista. I then added a white heat embossed sentiment from For the Love of Latte

A few other accents I added are hearts from Love Note and Shakers 'n Frames and the circle cut out from Circles 'n Scallops

Thanks for stopping by again today! I always love when you do. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Reverse Confetti-August Color Challenge Reminder

The month of August is quickly coming to an end. Crazy! Have you played along with the Reverse Confetti Color Challenge? There is still time to play. We sure hope you'll join us.

I used the sweet Oliver Owl from the Quirky Cuties line of stamps to make this festive birthday card. I used some gold foil paper to accent the image. I cut out a scalloped gold frame with the Circles 'n Scallops die. I also cut some stars with the OH, My Stars confetti cut die.

I stamped the sentiment from the Oliver in navy ink. It was a perfect fit on the banner strip from Tag Me.
here is the inspiration photo and color board for the challenge.

Reverse Confetti July Color Challenge {still time to play}

There is still time to play along with the Reverse Confetti July Color Challenge. Have you checked out this month's Challenge?

I have a sample for you. I used the cool new, Perfect Paisley Confetti cuts to make a fun, unique flower to match the inspiration photo. I used Whole Lotta Dots to give my petals some detail.  I layered a vellum scallop circle from Circles 'n Scallops Confetti cuts behind it. The coral circle behind the button is also from that same Confetti Cut set.

Here is a close up of the custom made flower.

The sentiment is from Lots to Say. I added a pretty woodgrain strip of washi tape and tied on some twine. I decided my card needed a few more pretties, so I created some additional flowers using Petals 'n Posies. I added in more vellum to soften the colors of the flowers. I love how vellum does that.

I needed to add in the lime green color, so I cut some of the leafy vine from Petals 'n Posies and tucked them in here and there behind the flowers.

Did you know that there is a vellum challenge with Catered Crop? It's always a fun, no restrictions challenge. Go Check it out

RC-April Color Challenge {You are the Best}

Welcome back for another fun post with some Reverse Confetti goodies.  It's our April Color Challenge.....AND I'm practicing my shaker card skills.

I'm so excited about how this card turned out. I have been so inspired lately by watercoloring (thinking about signing up for THIS class.....anyone want to do it with me?) and shaker cards. I combined them both here, today.

Here is the inspiration photo and color board. Isn't it goooorgeous??!!!!

I used my Tim Holtz Distress markers to brush on some color to my water color paper. I then used a water brush to "wash" out the color and give it a more realistic watercolor look. I hit it with my heat gun to dry and then used the All About You stamp set inked in black for my sentiment.
I used the Love Note Confetti Cut along with the Class Act Confetti Cut solid rectangle die to create my shaker box.

 I can't get enough of those sweet Petals 'n Posies, too. I used the Confetti Cut dies to cut a trio that accents the corner of the shaker element and added a pretty Beautiful Banner with a sentiment from Petals 'n Posies stamp set. (all links below)

Here is a close up of the sequins I used in my shaker card. Super cute from Pretty Pink Posh.

Check out all the ways you can combine these words!
