The color combo was from this weeks challenge on SCS-Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, and Garden Green. Give it a try and surprise yourself. Oh, and if you want a great sketch to work with, try this one from the Our Creative Corner blog. My kids have another snow day, it's the third one in a row. I'm hoping we get to go out sledding again. Happy Thursday! Hugs, Lisa

Stamps used are Giggle Grove and two images from Unity Jan. Kit of the Month. The letters are from one of my fave SU alphabets, Jumbo Outline alpha. I also used some retired SU ribbon and paper (my beloved, Wasabi was calling my name!). Short and Sweet today! Have a good one!

Hey, what do you know? Here is a scrappling I did with some of the new SAB products. This was fun to make. What's a scrappling you ask? Well, it is a card made from the scrap of cs you have left when making smaller than standard cards. I do a lot of square, 4 1/4 inch, cards and I am left with a strip of cs that is always put into my scrapbox. It is a long narrow piece and now you can fold that in half and make cute little tall skinny cards with it. This scrappling wasn't quite as tall as most turn out to be, but I did use all scraps to create it.
This card was for the Something Old, New, Blue, and Barrowed challenge. My stamps were new, they are the Unity Jan. KOTM (Love, ect.), the cs is obviously blue, barrowed was a fun embellishment packet I got from the SU Convention SCS dinner (you can't really barrow something for a card, so you were to use something you received from someone else), and the old was some Crystal effects (this is the original bottle I purchased probably 6 years ago). Up until recently, I hardly ever used it. Now I love the stuff and can't stop using it. Okay, I'm outta here. Need to go decorate a cake and get ready for eight 7 yr. olds to arrive at 9:30am!
I think the pink pirouette softens the look a bit. I colored the stems with my blender pen and re-inkers and added a bit of sparkle to the centers with Dazzling Diamonds. Needless to say, my craft room now is sprinkled with glitter. I hope it doesn't get all over my parents stuff this weekend. Heheheh. It will be funny to see my dad glitterfied! Yes, that means I have to clean the ol' stamp room today and finish some last minute projects since I won't have full use of my room until Sunday. Love that I have my own stamping space but it puts a kink in my creative time when we have guests. In all fairness, I'll take a visit from my parents over stamping anyday! They come tomorrow and the boys can't wait!!! Have a great day, the week is going even faster since we had the Holiday on Monday. Hugs, Lisa
That's all for today. The kiddos are off of school and DH is home. Hopefully we'll get out and do something fun. Nothing is planned yet, but dinner out would be nice! Have a good day!

I got use some of my retired yummy pomegranate satin ribbon with the Raspberry tart dsp on this one. The bird is from the Verve set, Anniversary birds. We had to use hardware on this challenge, so I added the row of Bittersweet brads. This was the week two challenge card. I created this funky bird with some new dsp I got in my CARDS prize pack. I think it is Scenic Route. This challenge card had to include some bling! I blinged it up with Shimmerz and rhinestone brads. Thanks for stopping by. Hope your weekend is fun!

The paper is the Sugared line by Basic Grey and the ribbon is SU (new saffron grosgrain that you can earn for FREE during SAB starting Feb.1). The cs is pink pirouette and saffron and a touch of mellow moss in there. I colored the image with my copics. Be sure to stop by Angela's blog to see the Hip Hop Hangover participants this week.
HIP HOP and HUGS!
I cut all the squares to 2 1/2 inches, was able to use 6 pictures and three different patterns of dsp that I used on the left side of the layout. I added some ribbon, buttons, and cutout cupcakes to embellish those squares. Have a wonderful Friday and stop by the Stamp Something blog to see what other fun Birthday ideas the DT came up with. Don't forget to play along for a chance to win some Blog Candy from Starving Artistamps! Link your creation to Stamp Something by next Wednesday to be entered to win! Have Fun!

This one uses a soft, pastel color pallet along with the stamped images from Embrace life. The layout came from a card in the SAB brochure (Sale-a-bration starts on Feb.1). I knew as soon as I saw it I had to use it. Both cards are SUO! Speaking of SU, let me say WOW! I did get my box of catties yesterday and spent the afternoon drooling over it. YIKES! The Designer Paper is going to kill me, I really love it all! The samples are gorgeous throughout the catalog-lots and lots of great ideas! And all the other accessories are just going to be so fun to work with!
Thanks for stopping by! I truly am grateful for all my online friends! You help make this all worth it!

I played up the pinks on from that paper pack and highlighted them with the olive ribbon and the kiwi designs of dsp. I also added a bit of sparklies (is that a word?) with glitter to the centers of the flowers. This set, Sweet Stems, does not include any sentiments. It is rare for me to order a set without words (remember I like Bang for my Buck!), but I love that it has forced me to pull out my sentiment sets. I used the pretty Stem Sayings here, stamped in black along the left of the image panel. I have to tell you this layout and the one from yesterday have become two favorites of mine. I have used them on various cards I've sent out in the past week. I'll be back with my final two swaps in the coming days! Keep your fingers crossed for me that my box of catties magically appear sooner rather than later! Have a great day!

This is a close up of some of the details. I colored with copics and added crystal effects to some of the gifts. I figured out that it is all about the embellishments when you can't add layers to a card! I even did a fancy flower, rhinestone, ribbon/bow! Next up is the cute little owls. I just adore these! There are actually three little cuties, but I only inked up two of them (all three wouldn't fit in my embossed scallop circle!).
Happy Monday! Hugs, Lisa
Thanks for sharing in my excitement. Have a great Saturday. It is pouring rain here, but it is also early, hopefully the temperature doesn't drop. That would be a mess!

That's all for me today! Check out Angela's blog for a full list of the Hip Hop Hangover blog list.
Hugs and have a great day! Lisa
I kept it pretty simple and added the ribbon (blush polka dot satin ribbon by PTI), the brads (bittersweet brads by Basic Grey), and jazzed it up with some paper piercing! Don't forget to see what the rest of the team came up with and link your card to the Stamp Something blog by next Wed. for a chance to win a great prize. Good Luck!

My image was quite small for the main rectangle of this sketch, so I added the scalloped circle to show off this little cutie. I think my favorite feature of the core'dinations paper is when you emboss them you can then sand them and let the color peek through. The pattern paper is called Loverly Flowers and is by Pepples Inc. So, I kind of laughed at myself after I completed this card, because I think I strayed from the challenge a bit. Not the sketch, but using the textured products. I did an awful lot of distressing on this card, I guess I confused myself. But then distressing your paper adds texture, right? I also kicked myself for not getting some flock on my last order with Limelight. I really wanted some for this little guy. You know what that means?....another order will be placed soon! Have fun with the sketch, and don't forget to see what the rest of the DT came up with!
