CAS-I just love it!

So I had bits and pieces of stamping time yesterday. My little guy is still not feeling well. My heart just aches for him. I'm hoping today is going to be much better, but then I've been thinking that for the last three days and it hasn't been. Funny thing is, Ryan is not a complainer and he has hardly said 3 words about his throat but his ears have been killing him. For whatever reason ear aches, and his are severe, have caused him so much pain. It is times like this that I am so thankful that Tim is a physician. I was in tears (again) because Ryan was in tears (again). I almost had him call the ENT but then he did some research of his own and reassured me (and himself, I think) that this ear pain was within normal post-op complaints. I was also thankful for the CAS challenge on SCS, I needed quick and easy. Miss Boo has started some great CAS (clean and simple) challenges. This week she asked us to use dots as accents, not dotted paper or dotted stamps, but dots made with paper piercing or a pen. I knew right away what I wanted and this card came together just the way I envisioned it. Love when that happens! Can you believe I even used my chalks on it? Yeah, I said it, chalks. When was the last time you pulled out yours? So there you have it, quick and easy. Clean and Simple. I really think it took me 8 minutes to put this together! All products are SUO, although the sentiment is a retired hostess set called So Many Sayings. Have a great Tuesday! Hugs, Lisa

More New Catty Swaps!

A little more SU eye candy! New is good, right?! Oh, yeah, it is to me. I'm working on some samples for my SAB swaps so you'll be seeing those shortly, too. Here is another card, similar to the one I did for the NMBS group, same layout, just a different use of paper and colors.

I think the pink pirouette softens the look a bit. I colored the stems with my blender pen and re-inkers and added a bit of sparkle to the centers with Dazzling Diamonds. Needless to say, my craft room now is sprinkled with glitter. I hope it doesn't get all over my parents stuff this weekend. Heheheh. It will be funny to see my dad glitterfied! Yes, that means I have to clean the ol' stamp room today and finish some last minute projects since I won't have full use of my room until Sunday. Love that I have my own stamping space but it puts a kink in my creative time when we have guests. In all fairness, I'll take a visit from my parents over stamping anyday! They come tomorrow and the boys can't wait!!! Have a great day, the week is going even faster since we had the Holiday on Monday. Hugs, Lisa

My NMBS Card!

Here it is, my second swap card with the Sweet Stem set. This time I colored it in and used the bright and funky paper, Raspberry Tart (yes, I know I've been calling this paper by the wrong name. LOL! I've gotten it all straightened out now) that SU is going to carry. I'm trying to occupy myself and NOT think about the new catty. I still haven't received mine yet and it's killing me! I feel like the only demo without the new copy in hand. Good news is I got my tracking number yesterday, so I guess I should stop comlaining! It is supposed to be here today!

I played up the pinks on from that paper pack and highlighted them with the olive ribbon and the kiwi designs of dsp. I also added a bit of sparklies (is that a word?) with glitter to the centers of the flowers. This set, Sweet Stems, does not include any sentiments. It is rare for me to order a set without words (remember I like Bang for my Buck!), but I love that it has forced me to pull out my sentiment sets. I used the pretty Stem Sayings here, stamped in black along the left of the image panel. I have to tell you this layout and the one from yesterday have become two favorites of mine. I have used them on various cards I've sent out in the past week. I'll be back with my final two swaps in the coming days! Keep your fingers crossed for me that my box of catties magically appear sooner rather than later! Have a great day!

Hugs, Lisa

Swap Time!

I will be posting lots of SUO (stampin' Up! only) stuff in the coming days. I just finished up a round of swaps (putting the last of them in the mail later today) and actually received my first batch back. This is the one I did for my QCSwappers group. We are a quiet group, not a lot of chatting amongst us, but the ladies can create! It is like Christmas when I receive my box back with all the swap cards in it. I get really excited.

I only preordered one set, so I had to come up with three different cards using this same set. The little flower images in Sweet Stems are really sweet! I chose to NOT color them in and use this one image, as is, stamped in Real Red. The dsp is Candy Lane from the Love You Much bundle. The card is finished off with the Love You sentiment from Short and Sweet punched out with the curly lable punch. It's all tied off with some striped Pink Pirouette ribbon! I hope the girls all loved it! Thanks JoAnn for another wonderful swap! I should be getting another box today full of swap cards from my second group! I'll share those tomorrow!

Retiring Accessories!

Yes, the list is out! SU is retiring some fabulous accessories, designer paper being a biggie for me. There are some of my favorites going away. It makes me sad, but it also gets me excited because I know there will be more to come that I just LOVE! Do you like the Summer Picnic dsp? I used it here on this card. If you like it and don't have it or if you need to get more, grab some quick. Once it's gone it's gone!

I'm hoping to be back later with some other fun creations. I've been busy stamping lately! Have a great Wednesday!

Ahhhh, a breath of Urban Garden!

YES! I couldn't resist the color challenge yesterday over at SCS: Baja breeze, Kiwi kiss, and Basic Grey!!! It was a no brainer to pull out my beloved Urban Garden dsp! It has been my favorite paper since the catty came out and it has been a while since I used it. Keeping it short this week, so here is the card.

Here are the deets:

Paper-Baja textured cs, kiwi, basic grey, whisper white, Urban garden

Ink-basic grey, kiwi, not quite navy, baja

Stamps-Sweet stems, Love you Much

Accessories: blender pen, basic grey taffeta, button bouquet, dimensionals, corner rounder, and the only non-SU item is the swirl cuttlebug embossing folder.

Today is cookie day! I'm hoping to get two or three varieties done. The boys have been bugging me to decorate cookies. I think they just can't wait to eat the little candies and lick the frosting. That was always my favorite part, what am I saying, it still is! hehehe!
