GSG Preview Swap

I almost wasn't going to swap with the preview items I ordered. I was just going to wait until we did our new catty swaps. I held off, until some gentle nudging took place, and then I said what the hey. Because I signed up late and I only ordered two sets, I didn't have much choice (we like to keep the swaps balanced with a wide variety of samples so we keep it to 2 or 3 people per set). I picked to use the new sentiment set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. You are going to LOVE this set, if you don't already. It's got it all in there, with lots of fun fonts. I focused on a fun new color combo (cased from the new catty)-Old Olive, Razzleberry, Bermuda Breeze and Crushed Curry. I did some distressing, stitching and added a fun circle image from Circle Circus to help set off my sentiment (along with the NEW Modern Label Punch). I cranked out 11 of these in about an hour and twenty minutes! I added an olive brad to this card, but some of the others have a Rose Red brad (from the Rich Regals brad pack) and I think is looks great with the razzleberry color. It's not a perfect match, but a great compliment. My parents are in town so I'm off to have some fun with them and the boys. See you Monday! Hugs, Lisa

GSG swap card #2

So here is the second card I did for the new catty swap with my GSG girls. I played off the fun, retro, funky color combo from the Retro Style Watch section of the catalog (pg. 10). I had to make this card a little bigger so I could fit the full birdie on the card, along with the scalloped circle.
It's definitely a funky chicken kind of card! LOL! Hope your having a wonderful weekend. We're on our way home today. We had to get up early to catch our flight, but it will be nice to have the afternoon to spend with the boys. Hugs, Lisa

GSG Swap card #1

I'm keeping the posts coming while I'm away. I've been saving this to show you till now. I did two swap cards with my GSG group for the new catalog. I received my package early last week with all the fabulous cards. WOW! is all I can say. I am so proud and honored to be a part of this group. Here is the card I did using Trendy Trees.
I shared a similar card a few weeks back with a different color combo. I loved the summer sun combined with the kiwi and chocolate. The trees were stamped in Versamark and I created a little faux button with a flower from the Birds and Blooms die. This is easy to do with any circle, just punch two holes in the center and tie some thread through it! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs, Lisa

More New Catty Swaps!

A little more SU eye candy! New is good, right?! Oh, yeah, it is to me. I'm working on some samples for my SAB swaps so you'll be seeing those shortly, too. Here is another card, similar to the one I did for the NMBS group, same layout, just a different use of paper and colors.

I think the pink pirouette softens the look a bit. I colored the stems with my blender pen and re-inkers and added a bit of sparkle to the centers with Dazzling Diamonds. Needless to say, my craft room now is sprinkled with glitter. I hope it doesn't get all over my parents stuff this weekend. Heheheh. It will be funny to see my dad glitterfied! Yes, that means I have to clean the ol' stamp room today and finish some last minute projects since I won't have full use of my room until Sunday. Love that I have my own stamping space but it puts a kink in my creative time when we have guests. In all fairness, I'll take a visit from my parents over stamping anyday! They come tomorrow and the boys can't wait!!! Have a great day, the week is going even faster since we had the Holiday on Monday. Hugs, Lisa

Last of my swaps

September was a busy swap month with the new catty and Holiday mini coming out right on top of each other. I love swapping so I had fun with all the cards I had to make. I think I told you all before I ended up doing 5 different swaps between all three of my groups. The last one to go out was for the GSG girls! I used A Cardinal Christmas for this swap. This card is similar to the one that I will use for my own personal Christmas cards. It has a lot of my favorites on it, including the top note die, the Alpine striped ribbon, a scallop circle and some dsp (this is the artichoke patters dsp from the hostess pack sampler). I just adore the sentiment included in this set. I hope to have lot of Stampin' Up! stuff to share with you soon. My goal this weekend is to use SUO-stampin' up only! Happy Friday! Hugs,

GSG Swap Card

I waited as long as I could. I'm thinking Becky has gotten the swaps out in the mail on their way back to us, so I am probably only a day early on this post. If you are a GSG girl and reading this and you want to be surprised when your swaps arrive then stop reading! I know you won't, but thought I'd throw the spoiler alert in there anyway! LOL! This is one of my favorite cards I've made with this set to date. I used the Top Note Bigz die and then stamped the grass and flower images in kiwi kiss. This photo doesn't show it, but one of those big flowers is embossed with clear embossing powder. After I stamped the full image, I cleaned the stamp and then inked up only the 1 large flower with the Versamarker and clear embossed it. I love the texture it adds to the cards, plus because it was embossed with clear powder, it highlights anything that is stamped behind it. I think it is such a cool effect. I offset the main image a bit so I could show off the scalloped borders a little more. I used strips from the Urban Garden dsp. The whole card was mounted on Basic Grey cs and then again onto Baja Breeze. The sentiment was stamped and punched out with the wide oval punch and finished off with a piece of striped Kiwi grosgrain ribbon. Happy Monday! Hugs,
