I've moved on to the Butterflies

I have one more card I did with Inspired by Nature but I decided to give you a break from it. I'm feelin' a bit frisky today so I'm changing it up. Today I picked up the new set called, Flight of the Butterfly. While I like butterflies and think they are pretty and cute, I just don't feel them. So I was worried once I got this set home that I wouldn't know what to do with it. Let's just say, it is a fabulous set and I was on a roll this afternoon! I also decided today to quit whining about what I don't have yet (you know, that big order I just placed and that is still sitting in CLOSED status in the SU warehouse). So I don't have ribbon in the new colors, and the only DSP (designer series paper) I have that is current is Summer Picnic (and that doesn't contain any of the new In Colors), I decided to USE WHAT I HAVE!!! Isn't that what I tell my customers. I amazed myself today by what I came up with. It wasn't rocket science, but I was able to put the extra pizazz into my projects. I did three cards today, and I'll save my favorite for my next post.

The first one I'll show you here is inspired by the new dsp, Bella Rose. I love the pink and red polka dot pattern in that paper pack, so I made my own. I just punched out a bunch of pink pirouette circles (with the 1/2 inch circle punch) and adhered them to a piece of Riding Hood Red cs. I also love the color scheme of that paper-choc. chip, riding hood red, pink piroutte, and kiwi. So that is what I used here. I needed a little something to help make the sentiment stand out so I finished the butterfly tail off with a green rhinestone brad from the Ice Rhinestone brad collection. You can use this set without the Stamp-a-ma-jig, but for perfect placement I definitely recommend it! The next card is a color combo I came up (at least I don't think I have seen it before) and I just adore it-Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pale Plum, and Pacific Point. This card is pretty straight forward. I did use the Birthday sentiment from the retired, It's Your Birthday set but I love it and will continue to use it (I did get the new Birthday sentiment set as one of my FREE sets from winning the SU contest in July-yippee!). The special trick I did with this card was the ribbon. Yep, I dyed ribbon again. I took white taffeta ribbon and just ran it across my Kiwi ink pad. I think I said this in an earlier post, if you use a sponge dauber on your finger you can spare an inky finger. Thanks for stopping by-Happy Wednesday!
Hugs,
