MFT and Wed. Stamp Club

One of my crafty resolutions this year is to participate in more of the MFT WSC challenges. So here I am, starting the year off right :)

MFT is super excited to announce that Wednesday Stamp Club will now be centered around a weekly sketch. We know your stamping time is precious, and we want you to maintain as much creative freedom as possible. Sketches are the perfect starting point to a card. Use it as a blueprint, and create a card using the stamp set and supplies that strike your fancy. You can turn to the sketches time and again for creative inspiration.

A new sketch will be posted each Wednesday at midnight on the MFT blog. You'll also find the sketch in the MFT forum on SCS on Wednesday morning, as well as in the weekly newsletter. Our talented Challenge and Design Teams will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started.

We encourage you all to play along, and to enter your card in the weekly draw for a $15 gift voucher to the MFT Boutique. Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation. You may use any stamps and supplies that you wish. Each week, a keyword is assigned to the sketch. All you need to do to enter, is upload your card to the gallery at SCS, and enter the given keyword in the keyword box, during the upload process. After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week's entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher! That is up to $100 per month in prizes, JUST for playing along. We hope you'll join us in 2011.

With such a great prize up for grabs, I think you should make this one of your resolutions this year, too! Here's the sketch and here's my card. I told you I would have all of this month's PI's inked up.  Today is one of the new cuties just released last night, Because You're Special.
My scalloped scallop die-namic (it was my first die-namis I ever purchased!) has been calling my name, so I put it to good use with this week's sketch. It looks great nestled in with the Jumbo Scallop die!

Head on over to Kim's blog to read all the details and see the list of creative links by the DT.  There are LOTS of us playing along this week. We hope you join us. Can't wait to see what you do with the sketch.

MFT Jan. Shop & Hop!

It sure has been a fabulous week! I loooove release week! All the excitement, new stamps, new die-namics, and FABULOUS inspiration from the DT! Now it's your turn to get these HOT new products in your hands. You can find all the Brand Spankin' New products right HERE! Be sure to SHOP & HOP with us tonight.

Hopefully you just came from Barbara's blog, if not then make sure you hop on back to Kim's blog so you don't miss out on any fabulous projects along the way.
Tonight I saved this fun wall haning to share with you and a little extra something, too.
I used the new Flapper Doodle set-I Love Us. This project started with the ribbon. Do you recognize it? If you shop at Ann Taylor Loft, you might (it's my FAVE store). As soon as I got the shopping bag last month with these ribbon handles, I knew I HAD to re-purpose it. Then I saw this set and right away it all came together in my head.
I altered 2 chipboard coaster-covered them with dp and some Modge Podge. I stamped the Flapper Doodles on X-press Blending cs, colored them in with Copics and added the sweet little hearts and sentiment (included in the set).
The hardest part was finding a picture of Tim and I. Sad, I know. We've been married 10 yrs. I take tons and tons of pictures, but I don't have very many of DH and I (or they aren't printed yet!). So, I went to our wedding pics and pulled one of those out to use. I also used some felt to cut more of those gorgeous mini rolled roses.
Did you put THOSE in your cart??? They were a perfect accent to my decor piece.

I guess I was in a lovey mood as I created my projects this month, cuz I've got one more for my sweet DH! I know, I know, might seem kind of silly to see a picture frame made for a doctor, right???? Remember earlier today when I said I love a good play-on-words? Yep, that's what this frame is. Tim is an ER physician, so I giggled when I read this sentiment. He's one of the best things to happen to me, and I thought of us when I saw this set. I did make my MIL take a cute picture of the two of us on Christmas, so that will go in this frame once I get it from her.

I covered a $1 frame from Micheal's with some Girl's Paperie (I'm almost out of that Tinsel & Twigg dp), fossil cs and more Modge Podge. MFT die-namics added to this frame are the Framed Greeting Die, Hearts a Plenty, and small scallop border. A little extra distressing (it helps hide any imperfections) and a button and twine finish it off!

Thanks for hopping by. Make sure you leave comments along the way. There is secret blog candy hidden on one of the DT's blogs. Melody is next up on the Hop!

I used the great notebook edge die-namics, along with the striped twill ribbon and a button/twine combo. The sentiment was layered with one of the Layered Labels Die-namics.

Here's my card with this week's sketch. Maria is our Hostess this month and I totally love the sketch-it's full of scallops...what's NOT to love. I used Sing a New Song and the sentiment from Music of My Heart!

I'm sending this one off to a stamping friend, and VERY talented paper crafter, Katie Renz. If you haven't read her story, you can do that here!  I worked with her on the Limelight Papercraft DT a while back and my heart just breaks for her. Life is so precious but boy is she a fighter! {{{Hugs}}} dear friend.

Two completely different sets being peeked today. First is another cutie from the same artist that brought us Loveosaurs and Heartfelt, she's called Frosty Fun.

You're gonna loooove this one, too. I just adore this font. I used one of my fave color combos-kraft, aqua, and olive. I used the Textile Frame die-namics for my sentiment and a strip of the small scallop border die-namicthe for a pop of color. The sketch is a variation from the TCP blog last week. I added a bit of MS Tinsel glitter to make it look like real ice.
Let's change gears to the other set, now.  It's a beautiful, vintage set that is next in the line up of the Inspired By stamps.  This one is called Inspired by Music. Ahhhhhh, the images are wonderfully done with so much detail. I pulled out some music note dp and stamped the music instruments and some notes in the background. The oval is part of the new Layered Labels dies you can purchase on Jan.4.

I even did up the inside, since I had used a dark card base. Check out the gorgeous new dainty dot border die.....don't forget that one on release night!

And just to show you how fun this set it, I stepped away from the vintage and wanted to share a quick CAS note card. A flower border die-namic and 1 little mini rolled rose and this one was done.

One one more day of teasers and then you can shop and hop! Enjoy the day, see you back here tomorrow.

MFT Teaser Day 3! It's Pure Innocence.

Yep! It's one of the most anticipated days of teasers.....LOTS and LOTS of cuties this month (just like every month, right).  Feel free to squeal with delight at each and everyone. lol! I know I did, when I first saw them.

Before we get started here are a few details you'll want to take note of:

  • The MFT release is on Jan. 4th at 10 PM EST. You can attend the release party from 8-10 PM EST here in the forum for fun, games, and prizes! All the new sets and dies will be available on Jan. 4 at 10 PM EST.

I actually have 3 of the 5 to share with you today.  I couldn't pick one, so I did them all (and the fifth one will see ink, very soon, cuz it's not that I didn't like her, I just ran out time!). The 4th one will have to wait till release night. I did him up extra special ;)

First up is Peek a Boo! I had so much fun creating this one.  It's a little interactive card with a pocket on the front to hold the sweet little girl. I split up my sentiment and only inked part of it for the outside of the card, then finished it off on the little tag. Love about acrylic stamps...AND you can see right where you're stamping.

I also couldn't resist using one of the new Rosette die-namics. This one is the 1/4inch and I used it's full size-it's BIG!!!! and really makes a statement. I created a pocket by adding adhesive to only the bottom and two sides of the cardstock-rosette panel.

The little Peek-a-boo girl fit perfectly on the Framed Greeting die-namics, so I cut my tag to that shape. Finished her off with some twill, a MFT Eath Girl button and twine.
Up next is the first of a brand new PI series that I just KNOW you're gonna flip for.  It's called Carnation.

I do have it planned in my head to do a calender series with this set, since there will be one for each month, but today I wanted to show you how it looks on a card. I used more the sweet October Afternoon dp, Modern Homemaker (thanks, Joanne, ♥love it!). You'll be seeing LOTS more of this dp, I can't stop using it. I used the new dainty dot border die-namic for this one and did up the inside to match.

The Layered Labels die-namics worked great, too,  to finish off my sentiment.

AND I'll leave you today with a sweet Lady Bug card.  If you loved the BEE PI, then you're gonna LOOOOOVE this Ladybug.   Isn't that sentiment just the sweetest? ACK! just melts my heart. I inked it on the oval from the Layered Label die-namic. A little strip of the small open scallop die, helps to accent the panel.
All these PI's were stamped on the X-press Blending cs. I really love this stuff and if you haven't tried it with your Copics, get some. You'll be happy you did. It's so smooth and the ink just moves so nicely on it.

See you back here tomorrow for another look at some NEW MFT goodies!

MFT Teaser-Day 2

Today we are showing off the new Flapper Doodle, Love Us, and the Clearly Sentimental About Love sets. I paired up the CS About Love set with the oh-so-cute à la mode, Key to My Heart!
I finally got brave to NOT color her in. I love the look and have seen it done by others, but I had yet to give it a go. I think she turned out cute, don't you?
I did use a glittered gel pen to color the key....had to add some sparkle! I also used the small scallop die-namic, a felt heart cut from the Hearts  Plenty die.  There isn't a die-namic I don't LOVE! It's all tied up with some crochet ribbon, a MFT button and some twine. Oh, and the card base is the MFT Fossil cs...... this stuff, too!
Off you go.  Remember the list is already up on Kim's Blog. Run, don't walk!
