Limelight and Esty Inspired Challenge

I'm a sucker for a good challenge, so I can't believe this is the first Esty Inspired challenge I have played along with. WOW! fabulous stuff on that blog. This week, Limelight Papercrafts is the sponsor and you still have time to enter! There is some amazing inspiration to chose from this week. I went with this photo

I was drawn to that crystal knob in the center, the woodgrain, the aqua blue color, and the flowers hanging on the left. I knew right away that I would use one of the awesome Vintage Sparklers by Webster's Pages. Then I went through my stash of Unity that Limelight carries and I pulled a few from my FAVE store KOTM-Sept.09, Everything Extraordinary. This is what I came up with.

I stamped the image on some Oct. Afternoon dp, colored the flowers with copics, and tied off the vintage sparkler with some burlap string (LOVE this stuff!!!!).

Get your cards uploaded to the EIC blog for a chance at a great prize from Limelight.

Be sure to stop by Limelight Papercrafts-they have
NEW Basic Grey and LAWN FAWN STAMPS!

It's another busy, busy Thursday, but I hope you find time to join us for another round of Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product focus challenge. Here's the sketch to work with.
and here's what I did with it, using all new Jillibean Soup products!!! I'm in heaven, yes, heaven. There is just something about this paper I love. So..... I let is speak for itself.

I used the cute little bird house paper and cut out one of the birds, added some stickles glitter to it and mounted him on a red button. I decided last minute to distress the edges of the paper a bit...not sure if I like it, but oh, well. Adds character, right? LOL! The ribbon and flower are also Jillibean soup, seriously, check it all out.

Come Play along.....here's how:

**Use the sketch above and a focus on glitter or sparkle

**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC046

**Post a comment with a link to your card to Mandy's blog and the challenge post by Sunday, May2, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.)

**PRIZE: One lucky winner will receive a glitter prize pack containing a container of glitter, a package of sparkle fibers, and a stickles.

Toothless!

Two weeks ago I got a little girl time and scrapbook time out at our lake house. It was a fabulous 24 hrs, too quick, but sooo much fun! I was quite productive and love the pages I finished. I'll be posting them here and there between DT obligations.
This page was one of my absolutle FAVES I did. Papers are Jillibean Soup with a little bit of Jenni Bowlin, and layout is from one of my Scraps, ect. magazines.
LOVE that Limelight Papercrafts carries most of my FAVES! You can pick up some Jillibean Soup dp and Alphabean letters in the store! I think new Jillibean is coming soon! YEAH!
Have a great weekend! See you back on Monday with some more {ippity} and TSG! Oh, and in case you didn't see......check out the {ippity} blog to see what this photo is all about!

How about a Joy Ride?

I've used this paper a lot, lately...it is a great pack, especially for all the boy stuff I make around here. But then, so is everything by Cosmo Cricket. It's the 6x6 deck called Joy Ride.

This was a quick card I whipped up for my BIL last week. I pulled out my 3 favorite patterns from the pack and paired it up with a fun Birthday sentiment from Unity's, It's Your Day stamp set. The metal brads give it a bit more of a masculine feel, dontcha think? Get the stamps and paper both at Limelight Papercrafts.

This week on SALE:

25% off (through 4/3):
*Embossing Powders
*Glitter
*Distress Stickles
*Kaisercraft Droplets

New Stuff arriving soon! Check it out!

see you back tomorrow for a Limelight sketch and product challenge with the DT! Hugs, Lisa

Touchdown!

I know, football season is over, but when you have lots of boy birthday's and most of the boys adore football, this stamp comes in handy. FYI, I mount my bare rubber stamps on EZ mount (I just like that cling, for easy use) and Mandy carries it!

Since we live in a district with school colors of Red and Black-sweet little Billy almost never sees another color of jersey. Lucky for me, I still have some of the great Report Card dp by Oct. Afternoon. The Red Twill also comes from Limelight Papercrafts-forgot I had some of this!!! It was a perfect fit for this fun boy card. The little tag is from a new SU set. I had to get it cuz I loved the punch. I just wish the punch wasn't so tiny-not many word fit on the tag.

Keeping it short and sweet-I know how busy you all are. Thanks for coming by! Be sure to stop by the Limelight store. Mandy has gotten in some of the latest and greatest!!!

I {heart} Limelight!!!

Seriously!!! Limelight is one of my favorite online stores and I am so honored to be a part of the DT. It is Thursday and it's another fabulous sketch and product challenge day. Since we are rounding the corner on our next holiday, our focus is on hearts this week. Here's the sketch:

I have to say I struggled with this, well maybe struggle isn't the word, but I sure played around with my card and just couldn't get it quite right. BUT finally, I did and now I'm happy! I was going to use strips of dp and I really, really wanted to use this fun cupcake, heart image-Pixies Make a Cupcake, by PinkCat, so I went with a more subtle look with the stripes. What do you think? I ended up scoring the soft suede cs and then inking them with Vintage cream ink. The dp is by Pebbles Inc, Loverly Flowers, and I'm sooo glad I found it in my stash-love the colors, AND it has hearts for the flower petals. The button and stickles (check out the pixi wings) are also from Limelight...see I told you Mandy has it all!!!!
Come play along for a chance at a prize. Here's the deets:
**Use the sketch above and HEARTS
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC040
**Post a comment with a link to your card to Mandy's blog and the challenge post by Sunday, Feb.7, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.)
**PRIZE: one lucky winner will receive a Pink Cat Studio Lily Valentine Fairy Mini stamp set?
Now off you go to check out the rest of the DT!

Tulle and a Limelight Sketch

It is time for another Limelight sketch and product focus. This week pull out your Tulle and put it to use. I did and boy am I glad. I forget how fun this stuff is and what great texture it can add to your project, and not to mention how pretty it is. Here's the sketch. So, yes, it's another big circle to work with and I was thrilled. This time I decided to give my sewing machine a test run in circular form. I wanted to do a zig zag stitch and it didn't turn out quite right. My circle was more of an ellipse. LOL! Free form, straight stitching was going to work much better for me. I did score a circle on my cs before I began stitching, just so I had a template to follow. When in doubt, take it around two or three times to help "hide" any imperfections.

Here's what I used to make this card.

Stamps: Something Within by Unity. LOVE these quotes. I stamped in Versamark, ran a mellow moss marker over the word Friend, and then clear embossed it. This helped is stand out a bit more on the kraft cs.

Paper: Sugared dp by Basic Grey, kraft, pink pirouette and kraft cs (all SU)

Accessories: Tulle, BitterSweet Brads, Janome sew mini, clear embossing powder

So here are the rest of the deets about the sketch. Read them and come play along! You can win some Tulle!

**Use the sketch provided and think TULLE! You can CERTAINLY be flexible with your interpretation of tulle, and you may definitely skip it if you don't have any!! In fact, we hope you win if you do not have tulle....because we'll get to send you some! :)

**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC021.

**Post a comment with a link to your card Mandy's post by Sunday, May 17th, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m

PRIZE ~ Five yards of tulle of the winner's choice!(Winner is chosen randomly from all participants.)

ALL ORDERS of $35 or more will receive one jar of Shimmerz for FREE!! Now's the time to shop!

Check out my fellow DT members for their fabulous take on the sketch. JenMarie, Lee, Amy, Lorie, Mandy, Ryann and our guest designer this month, Amy!

The Week is Flyin'!

The kids still had Monday off to finish out their Spring Break and it is making for a super fast week. I'm kind of glad though, the good weather is coming this weekend (sunny and 70 !!!). Today is a Limelight Sketch and Product Focus Day! Here is the sketch to work with. It is a classic and so easy to work with. Plus it's a square card, which you know I love, especially if it is 4 1/4 size! Our product focus this week is Rub-ons! You know you got 'em, go find 'em so you can create something beautiful with 'em! I picked up some of these GORGEOUS Basic Grey ones from the Limelight store. I couldn't put them down yesterday. There is no stamping on this card.

Up for grabs this week is a package of Basic Grey Silver Summer Rub-ons! And there's a BONUS.... Oh, yes, you can have TWO entries into the random drawing this week? How, you ask?

Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge!

You have to try this sketch, it is a good one! I love making circle cards, so that was the biggest draw for me. It's April!!! Spring is here!! That makes me think of bright, sunshine-filled days!! What's bright and shiny?? Metallics!! What can you find that's shiny metallic to use on your challenge this week?? Brads, Metallic Paper, Eyelets, Embellies??? Let your creativity "shine"!!!! You can find lots of pretty metallics at Limelight Papercrafts!

I have to be honest and say that I couldn't make your typical metallic products work on my card, BUT I did use metal. The brads I used count as metal hardware, they are just red. Everything I made my card with you can get at Limelight (except the New Leaf cs from PTI). The stamps are from Pink Cat Studio. I cut the little froggie off of Little Billy's head. I laugh at myself because every time I do a challenge I think, "oh, man, I wish I had that to use today. I would have worked perfectly on my card." Today I wish I had those cool Piggytales to pop up that froggie. You know what's on my next order ;) The paper is none other than October Afternoon. As always, come play along with us for a chance to win a prize. Here are the deets:
  • **Use the sketch provided along with anything METALLIC!
  • **Key word for SCS upload is LLPC018.
  • **Post a comment with a link to your card on Mandy's blog on this post by Sunday, April 5, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
  • **PRIZE ~ One 6x6 or 8x8 paper pad of the winner's choice! Winner is chosen randomly!

I'm off the see what my fellow DT memeber have created with this sketch. Mandy has me so anxious to see her card. She has one of the GORGEOUS prima butterflies on it!

Becky, Ryann, JenMarie, Lorie, Lee, and the NEW April Guest Designer, Rebekka Reed!

And I'll leave you with this special from Limelight! Simply enter in the code "BunnyTrail" at checkout to receive 15% off your entire order! Happy shopping!

Ahhhhh, Spring is right around the corner I can feel it. Yesterday was picture perfect here in Cinci and this whole week is supposed to be pleasant. I just love Spring. Guess where you can now get it (aside from Unity)? Yep, Limelight! Mandy just got in her new shipment of Unity stamps. Place an order, win an egg filled with goodies AND sign up for the Limelight newsletter to take advantage of this awesome Sale:A NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBER SALE!We *HEART* our newsletter subscribers! This next card is SUO and has NO stamping on it. Just a little Pink Flamingo dsp and some rubons. Isn't it just so cheerful?! The card base is Basic grey and I just love how those flowers are falling from the sky. I hope these put you in a good mood. I'll be back tomorrow with a sketch challenge with my Limelight peeps! An Offbeat Tree and a Give Away!

Yes, you read it right. I am doing a give away! First I want to say thank-you to all my faithful blog readers (whether you leave a comment or not). I never imagined when I started this blog that I would be as addicted to it as I am. I think I have become a better stamper because of it. I think you all challenge me to share my best work! So Thank-you! Second I want to thank Mandy the Limelight Godess for offering up the wonderful goodie I am giving away. I will make it short and sweet. There is only a small window to participate so make sure you leave a comment on this post telling me what you favorite Limelight Product is. You have to leave your comment by 7pm Tuesday, March 10. I will then draw a name at random from all those that participate. Easy 'nough! Oh, you probably want to know what you are playing for? How about some ribbon- Pebbles, Inc. ribbon (5 yards, >> 1 yard each of 5 styles) in Lavender.
Okay, now I'll leave you with a card. I used Unity's Giggle Grove, and some Basic Grey paper and buttons both from their Off Beat line. Get them all at Limelight! Don't forget that with every order, you will receive a plastic egg filled with some little goodie or maybe you'll be one of the lucky few to win a BIG prize. Good Luck and have a fabulous Monday!

Card Patterns

I mentioned this new sketch blog the other day, Card Patterns. The sketches are posted on Saturday and I played along late last week. I was on the ball this week and got a card done for this week's sketch. This is their 4th sketch challenge. The DT is great and I was blown away by their samples for the sketch this week. Wanna join me and play along? Here is the sketch, just be sure to link your card to Mr. Linky at the end of their blog post. Don't you just love this new feature (Mr. Linky) all the blogs are using? It makes linking your info SO easy!
Okay, and now for my card. I used my new-for-now-favorite Unity kit, Shine On along with some new Crate Paper dp from their Mai line. Ooooo, I love the colors of this paper. The strips aren't actual dp, they are coordinating sticky strips to match the Mai dp (used on my ovals) and they are so glittery IRL. Wanna know where you can get some and this gorgeous stamp kit? Yep, you guessed it, LIMELIGHT PAPERCRAFTS!
My card base is Soft Sky (one of last year's In Colors) and the ribbon is Plum Pudding by PTI. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great start to your week! Hugs, Lisa

It's Friday The 13th!!

Are you superstitious? I'm not, so Friday the 13th doesn't mean much to me when it falls on a Friday, although today is a special day. It is my dad's birthday. This is the last of our Birthday's for a while (yesterday was my Ryan's 5th birthday!!!). The last month has been has been fun, but I am tired of Birthdays! We have one more party to get through (Ryan's tomorrow morning at Chuck E. Cheese. He is practically jumping out of his skin, he is so excited) and then there is nothing until summer time. Here in blog land this Friday means it's a Stamp Something day and a Unity Hip Hop Hangover day(I actually got to hip hop a little yesterday and hang out in the Unity forum AND I won a prize). Guess who this week's challenge hostess is? Give up? It's ME! I have a fabulous bunch of loot to give away to one lucky winner. I am paying it forward and sharing some of the winnings I received in my Paper Craft prize box (from their World Card Making Day contest). The box was HUGE and I could never use everything they sent me. Wanna see the prize you can win? There are Melissa Francis stamps and rub-ons, Maya Road floral embellishments, Chipboard frames and some pretty spring brads. Come play along and be sure to link your creation to the Stamp Something Blog.

We have a chocolate theme this week. Create something, anything to do with chocolate. It can be a box or package to hold some chocolate, you can use a chocolate stamped image, or you can just use the color of chocolate.
Here's my challenge card. I was all about my favorite color, chocolate chip. I used retired, Au Chocolate paper (SU), Chocolate grosgrain, chocolate chip ink, and then I couldn't resist one of my favorite Unity images, the Choloate Kiss (from the Dec. KOTM). The next card is just an extra for those of you following the Hip Hop Hangover blog hop. It is a Unity card I did yesterday for the Hip Hop Challenge-Unity takes Flight. We had to use an image of something that flies. I love these little owls (from the October KOTM). The dp is from the Weather Vane series of dp by Ocotober Afternoon. I am sooooo happy Mandy got some OA in the Limelight store. Speaking of Limelight and Unity you might want to check out their sale this week. I see handles on sale (and a few other things)! Thanks for stopping by. We are off to the Aquarium today with some friends. Hugs, Lisa

Unity Kit of the Month

Want a great deal on stamps? Then you must check out the Kit of the Month by Unity stamps. I have never been a big fan of monthly kit clubs, but once I kept seeing the beautiful images people were using from Unity I was intrigued. When I found out I could only get them by signing up for the monthly kit, I was bummed. It took me a few months of looking and almost hitting the join button before I was sucked in completely. I joined in October and each month gets better and better. You get a ton of stamps for $24.99. The images are a great size and all are unmounted red rubber stamps to use with your acrylic blocks (or the handles Unity sells). I just saw the Feb. KOTM and OMG! I think it might be my favorite so far. Angela has it up on her blog. I made these two cards for last week's hip hop challenges and they both use images from the Jan. KOTM called Love, ect.

Yes, I know, this one is a little bright an funky. Isn't that peacock just adorable? The challenge called for Bold and Bright. The next card is a little more tame. We were to use something gritty on our card. I added glitter to a piece of sticky strip. I love the contrast of the bright pink with the natural tones of the chocolate and kraft. Oh, and just so you don't miss out. This is straight from the Limelight home page:

A selection of our Valentine's Day themed projects are 20% off this week only! Here are the items on sale:
Unity Stamp Company Love Is Toxic and Rows of Yummies
All Basic Grey Bittersweet Accessories (6x6 Paper Pads NOT Included)
Odd Bird Planet Hey Handsome, Me & You, and Heart Lolly Tree Stamps
