Reverse Confetti Summer Creative Blog Hop

Welcome crafty friends!! I am so glad you are here with me today. It's the 8th and that means it's time for some Reverse Confetti fun. It is not a release month, but the Confetti Crew has a fabulous Summer themed creative blog hop for you. You should have arrived from Lisa Addesa's Blog. If not, then be sure to head on over the Reverse Confetti Blog so you don't miss a thing.

There is an RC gift card up for grabs. Maker sure you hop along and leave a comment on each of the designers blogs for a chance to win a $15 Gift Certificate. Comments are open until Monday at noon CST and winner will be announced on Tuesday the 11th on the SFYTT post

Ok, so it's a summer theme and I had a lot of fun with colors and LOTS of RC products. I've got two projects to share today, so hang with me.

First up today is a group of Project Life or pocket page cards. I have a stack of photos from the summer, just waiting to be documented. I also have a stack from the school year, the winter, and last summer, and.....lol! Yes, I am behind on my pages. BUT thanks to today's project, I have a jump start on my summer pages and I couldn't be more excited. Here is the group of them.

Don't the colors just scream summer! I made sure to pick bright and playful colors. The key to creating a variety of coordinating cards is to find a color scheme and stick to it. After I decided on this, I moved on to my Reverse Confetti stamps. I was like a kid in a candy store, flipping through all my stamps finding all that would fit a summer theme. The Pineapples Aplenty  set and matching Pineapples Aplenty Confetti Cut dies were the first ones I grabbed.

The base for all my cards is of course, the awesome Documented die. I cut 3 white cards and then 3 more in the Summer Splash, Limelight, and Ripe Raspberry card stock. For the pineapple card, I actually decided to cut the Weather or Dot (& stripes) Quick Card Panel because it reminded me of waves. Remember those are a limited edition product. Once they sell out they are gone.   I added a kraft bottom and sand sequins to give a beachy feel to it.

It seemed like a no brainer to use Love & Ice Cream dies and Let's Chill for anything summer time. My family loooooves both, but ice cream is our favorite! I think I have said it before here on my blog, but you know that question....if you could bring 1 food item to a deserted island, what would it be? My answer is always ice cream (although it's almost a toss up with pizza). I stamped a rainbow of color behind the cone with Color me Happy. I used a sentiment from Let's Chill to create a tone on tone background for my popsicle.

I really love the sunshine card. I heat embossed the sentiment from Shine Bright with white embossing powder and added some vellum clouds and a pattern sun thanks to the Sun 'n Cloud dies.

I always make sure I create a card I can journal on. It's important to say a thing or two about some of the photos you add to your pocket pages. For this one I used the Right Here Right Now stamps and added in the "best day ever" stamp from Fancy Word Coordinates. A simple banner from Double Banner Garland

The final card used the awesome Triple Chevie die and a sentiment from Circle Sentiments.

I was so happy with my pineapples above, that I was inspired to create a card with more pineapples. I started this one with a water colored background. I used my distress inks in Crushed Olive, Shabby Shutters and Picked Raspberry. I used the easy smooshing technique to add the color and then set it aside to dry. I then inked up Pineapple Aplenty and used the dies to cut them out.

I didn't want to cover up my beautiful background, so I created a frame for my pineapples to sit in with the Circles 'n Scallops confetti cuts. I then stamped my sentiment from Fancy Word Coordinates onto a black licorice card stock strip and embossed it with white embossing powder to make it pop! A scattering of sequins completed my card. The colors are just so yummy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are inspired to create something summery. It's my favorite time of year and I am sad we are gearing up for school already.

Please follow me to the next stop on the hop, Jean Manis is up. I know she'll have something beautiful to share. Enjoy the rest of the hop!
