I used some older My Mind's Eye paper. The browns and yellows were a great fit with this vintage looking car. It's from the Inspired by Travel stamp set. I used a cool technique to highlight the main image. I cut two circle using the Circle Stax Die-namics, one smaller than the other. I stamped the car once on to each circle (I inked it up with a little rock-n-roll technique-ink the stamp with a lighter ink (I used tea dye distress ink first) and then rolled the edges in Walnut Stain distress ink.) I then layered the smaller circle on top of the larger one, lining up the image. That circle was also popped up with foam dimensionals. All my edges were touched with Vintage Photo distress ink and distressed.
I added a Postage Edge Border along the bottom and added the sentiment to a Notched Tag piece. One final touch was a small Lemon Drop button tied up with some Hemp Twine.
I also layered up the inside and stamped a partial car image. Along the bottom I added my birthday sentiment from the Finishing Flourishes stamp set.
Manly cards don't need to be that difficult. Find a great stamp set, use some masculine color and add some distressing. They are all great touches to any masculine card.
Be sure to check out this month's MFT GUEST DESIGNER CONTEST. I will have a card up this week showing this one off.
Thanks for stopping by this weekend. Hope you are having a great one and are staying warm.
I bet your FIL loved this card. What man doesn't love a car. Great colors and a neat technique, very manly.
