Today is a great day. It's Friday AND it's RELEASE DAY for the August Picket Fence Studio Release. 
I am excited to share all the new goodies with you. I also wanted to let you all know this will be my last release with the PFS team. I have decided to step away and lighten my crafty load a bit. I am so honored to have been with this amazing company since the start two years ago. Nicole and Matt are beyond generous and I wish them continued success with their business. A big shout out to Lydia for keeping us all organized and being awesome. Thank-you. 
So let's just in with the projects. First, is Frank. Oh, my, is he so stinking cute. Run, don't walk to pop this stamp set, So Franken Cute into your cart today. It's a fabulous add to your Halloween stash. I wanted to show you how easy his is to work with, despite his large size. I kept it simple with a tone on tone look. Avocado ink stamped on Lime  Green card stock. I stamped the sentiment with  Black Hybrid Ink and scattered on some of the new Creme de Menth sequins and pulled in a few black ones from Black Magic. 

Let's switch gears a bit and look at this fun shaker card I made with the new Song Bird stamp and Evergreen Stencil. I started with some distress water color card stock from Tim Holtz. I added some Pixi Spray to the back of the Evergreen Stencil, to hold it in place. With some Life Changing Blending Brushes, I gently added in my color with Festive Berries, Robins Egg, and Evergreen Bough. I placed the finished panel behind the circle acetate covered panel and added in a generous amount of the beautiful new Frozen Nutcracker sequins. 

I stamped the song. bird with RC Aqua ink and gave it a light water color, pulling the color towards the center of the image. I was careful not to use a lot of water. I did a little fussy cutting to cut him out and placed him over the sentiment from Song Bird. 

And finally from me today is my favorite from this release. I just adore the art work of this stamp and the darling girl with her furry pals. The stamp set is called Your Friend Dear. I used a Life Changing Blender Brush and mask of the image to add the blue sky and ground. I used my copics to color up the cuties and stamped the sentiment in black ink along the bottom. It makes me smile.

Color Throwdown

Hi, everyone! It's time for a new challenge! Barbara is our hostess for this week's  colors for this week. Remember, we're using generic colors, so as long as you use the color values shown: blue, green, peach, and metallic gold you'll be good...the color police won't come after you--this is all about having fun! And, feel free to incorporate any other neutrals you need in your design, as well.

Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of the post, please link to your specific post, not a generic link to your blog--all of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, so check 'em out to be sure. Importantly, though, no digital designs, only digital images that are printed off and colored will be allowed. Totally digital designs will be removed from the link up. 

I used a brand new stencil just released from Picket Fence Studios. I used the challenge colors and a Life Changing Blender brush to add in all the pretty colors. The release is full of fall and Christmas stamps but I wanted to ink up this new Shading Flower Stencil. It's a beautiful image and makes beautiful cards. I have two cards, one with bright cheerful colors and another one monochromatic . 

 I inked up the flower with Salty Ocean, Dried Marigold, and Mowed Lawn Distress inks. I used post-it notes to cover up areas I didn't want to transfer other colors to. The Life Changing Blender Brushes make the ink blending easy and quick. Once the ink was dry, I added a sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments with Intense Black Ink. 

I added some gold splatter with Golden Rose Paper Glaze. I added a bit of water to thin it out and then flicked it on to my card base with a paint brush. I finished it off with a little more shimmer thanks to Spiced Cider Sequin Mix.

Picket Fence Studio June Release

Today is one of my favorite days of the month. It's Picket Fence Studio's June Release!! We have some pretty amazing products in the line up this month. I love it all. Duh! And I hope you do to. 

I have two fun cards to share and they both have a fun background detail. First up is my favorite new girl stamp called Artist Dear. To be honest, I don't know if I love the darling girl or the adorable dog more. They are even better together. I stamped them both in Intense Black ink, and then used my Copics to color them up. No die with this, which is Okay....I can use my money to buy more of the new release items. A bit of fussy cutting, which didn't take too long, and they were ready for my card front. 

Let's chat about the background. As soon as I saw the Paper Cranes stamp, I knew it had to become wallpaper. I used a strip of Purple Tape to mask off the floor and then did some tone on tone stamping with Stone ink. It is subtle and pretty and the perfect amount of detail. I then added some Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink with a Life Changing Blender Brush and added some shadows with a copic marker. To finish the card I stamped the most perfect sentiment ever with Intense Black ink. 

 Chancing gears to a more masculine card sticking with the art theme,  I am excited to show you the Cooking is Art stamp set. Oh, my! The detail on this stamp is awesome and it needs very little coloring, if any. I chose to highlight the food pieces with some color and added some shading with some grey copic markers around the folds of the chef's coat. I again did some quick fussy cutting and set him aside. 

For the background on this one, I figured the Fireburst Stencil was a great fit because, well, he is cooking up some food over a hot flame, right?! I used some Candied Apple and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide inks to heat up the background flames. I added the chef image over top with some foam dimensionals and stamped the sentiment along the bottom in Candied Apple Distress ink to match.

Picket Fence Studios + My Sweet Petunia Collab Blog Hop

So exciting! Two great companies coming together for one great blog hop. My Sweet Petunia and Picket Fence Studios are two of my favorites. There are prizes up for grabs, so follow me along with the Blog Hop. 

You all know I love my PFS stamps and dies, and I must say I use my MISTI EVERY TIME I stamp. I have had the Original MISTI forever and just recently added the MINI MISTI to my supplies. I love both sizes and use them both equally. 

I used both sizes on my strawberry card today. I went strawberry picking this week and I was inspired by the beautiful red fruit and rows of gorgeous green plants. When I sat down to create, right away I was drawn to this image by PFS. I love the giant size of the Ponchatoula Strawberries and I knew I wanted to add sone embossing to the image.  I used the Original MISTI to stamp the image in Intense Black ink, so I could color the strawberries up. I made sure to not remove the stamp from the Misti, so I could stamp it a second time, after coloring, with Versamark ink. I then could add the Rose Gold Embossing powder. That's the beauty of the Misti, it allows you to stamp and re-stamp images as long as you position the paper in the corner and keep the stamp in the same place on the lid.  So easy and perfection every time. 

Because I didn't move the stamp and placed the colored paper panel back into the corner, I was able to add the versamark ink over the colored image so I could add the Rose Gold Embossing Powder. After I heated the embossing powder, I used the matching Ponchatoula Strawberries Die to cut it out. I then placed it at the bottom of Mist card stock that I had added the strawberry image in Baby Blue ink along the top 

I pulled out the Mini MISTI to stamp up my sentiment. This size is perfect to keep on my desk and stamp all the little images I work with mostly. Today I decided on a sentiment from Small Ways to Say Thank You. 

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and added the same Rose Gold embossing powder to the words. I finishe dit off with a tiny scallop from the Edge Essentials Confetti Cuts. Here's a closer look at the details.

Picket Fence Studios May Release

Hello friends. It's time for the May Release from Picket Fence Studios. We are excited to share all the awesomeness with you. You can shop all the new products HERE! But don't miss out on what the team has created. You can find all our new release projects on our blogs and on social media pages. 

Today I am sharing the next stamp from the shell line-up. It's called Nautilus Shell Scene. I have really enjoyed creating with these stamps. This month I colored it up with copics and used the coordinating Nautilus Shell Scene die to cut it out. I set it aside and worked on the background. 

I love this new Exotic Leaves Stamp.  I did an ombre inking of the stamp and used the continuous pattern to line it up and stamped it twice to cover my card front. I loved the tropical colors and feel and I thought it would make a great background to match the colors I used on the stamp. At the last minute I decided to add a few clusters of the stone and greenery images from Things on the Sea Floor. I also tucked in a few sequins to finish it off. OMG! speaking of sequins....did you see the new sequins in the shop? Check them out HERE. add a few. mixes to your order, you won't be sorry.

Picket Fences Studios and WOW! Embossing Collaboration Blog Hop

Welcome Welcome! I am so excited you are here with us. It's a fun day and kick off of a two day event with Picket Fence Studios and WOW! Embossing Powders! 

Before I jump into my two projects, I have a little info for you. Hopefully you arrived here from Angela Bode.

I was so excited to try the Rose Gold Embossing powder on some kraft card stock. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I stamped the gorgeous sunflower image from Face the Sun in Versamark ink and then covered it with the Rose Gold powder. 

Let me show you a close up of the detail. Gah!!! I love it. I finished off the card with a simple sentiment in black ink and added some twine and designer paper along the left side. 

I was fortunate to get some pretty new colors of embossing powders to play with too. I don't always reach for color, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to see what they can do. Again, I was not disappointed. The Sea Turtle powder is sooooo pretty and I used it to outline the Pucker Up stamp. The lemon branch image is so good. After I let the embossed image cool down, I added a touch of color with my Copic markers. 

For the background I used my Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend on some distress oxide inks in Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade and then did a splattering of the same colors. I cut out the Pucker up image with the matching dies and added some dimension with foam dots. 

I was excited to try some solid embossing on a strip of paper and then die cut it. I LOVE the color of the Metalline Himalayn Musk powder. I covered a scrap piece of white card stock with Versamark ink and then poured on the embossing powder. It took a little bit of time to get the full strip to melt, but the powders do a beautiful job of creating a smooth finish. I let it dry and then ran the paper through my die cut machine with the Hello word Die. Look at the shimmer.

Color Throwdown 591-Face the Sun

Hello everyone! Amy Rysavy is our host for this week's Color Throwdown challenge!  I love the ombre' look of those cris crossed straps! The colors for this week are to use Plum, Pink, Peach and White. Remember we just use generic colors (so any brand/type/whatever you have will work) and you can always feel free to add in neutrals (white/black/etc) to make your creation pop!

Oh my goodness! A simple stencil and a Life Changing blender brush and a trio of distress ink colors  and boom! this card was done. I am in love with this stencil from the April release by Picket Fence Studios, it's called Leaves and Flowers Stencil. I added color with Wilted Violet, Dried Marigold, Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks. This is the perfect way to make a stunning one layer card. 

Some black ink and a great sentiment, this one is from Face the Sun, and a handful of white enamel dots finished off the card. I smiled when I removed the stencil. Magic, pure magic!
