Cardabilities80-You're Special

I have a Saturday post for you. Heather Jensen and I had so much fun playing along with a challenge earlier in the week, that we decided we wanted to do another one. We wasted no time and jumped on the sketch challenge for Cardabilities. This is a new challenge for me, so I was excited to give it a go.

I still had out my new Distress Markers and wanted to give them a whirl on a people stamp. I ♥ the Wendy Burns images from MFT. Cuteness overload!

I still have not made my trip to Hobby Lobby for my Archival Ink pad. So I went ahead and stamped her up with Graphite Black Brilliance ink and hit it with some clear embossing powder.

I also wanted to see how the markers worked on different papers. Of course, when watercoloring you need to be caution of your paper pilling, so I thought a page out of my Mixed Media journal might work. And it did. Here's a close up of my girl all colored up. You can really see the embossing detail.

I went ahead and made the card assembly super easy for myself, by using lots of the pieces from the MFT Blueprints 3 Die-namics. I layered up the flower included in that set and topped it with a Gumdrop Green button and twine. I also hit the edges of the petals with some distress ink. LOVE that I can coordinate my markers with the ink pads I also have on hand. I used Festive Berries to color up her purse and used a sponge dauber and the ink pad to add a hint of color to the petals. The grid flower was inked with some Walnut Stain, as was the rest of my paper edges.

Here is the Cardabilities #80 sketch. Check out the challenge HERE.

Don't forget, Heather also has a post using this sketch. Follow me to see what she has to share.
