It was the 1 year anniversary and there was a huge blog hop list chuck full of awesome talent. So the challenge is called 10 Minute Card Dash. Yes, you are supposed to only take 10 minutes to create a card. YIKES!! Is that even possible???
My first attempt was an epic fail. Once I hit the 10 minute mark, I decided to change some things up and add a few more details and well....the card ended up taking me more like 28 minutes to create. Which is still pretty good. haha.
BUT I gave it another go AND I made something I really quite like. It's CAS, of course. At 10 minutes it has to be. And in all fairness....for me to make a card in 10 minutes I HAD this card done in my head...... Colors picked out, paper decided on, and layout figured out.
I went with a very trendy layout. I've been seeing this everywhere and love it. So I gave it a go. I think those diagonal lines really make a statement.
I picked out a pretty stamp, that was large and would cover a fair amount of space. This is from Lisa Johnson's Birthday Greetings stamp set at MFT. Then I went in with some WOW factor, by adding two red line tape strips and adding glitter.
I have been afraid of gold. It's another trend right now, that I just couldn't embrace. I changed that today, and made it a little easier for myself by pairing it up with it's good friend silver. Yes, I combined gold and silver together and I think it works great on this card. A trio of matching sequins and BAM! this card was done.......in 9 min. and 8.4 seconds!!
Check out the challenge here. It really was a lot of fun.
