ahhhh, Distress Markers!

I caved. After seeing more and more lovely watercolored images (thanks Joanne and Jen Schultz) and watching countless videos of techniques with these amazing markers I had a moment of weakness and ordered yet another coloring medium.

 I know, I know.....I kind of rolled my eyes at myself and tried to talk myself out of them....but on a rainy, cloudy Saturday morning and a too-good-to-pass up deal, what's a girl to do??? SO..... I bought all 49 of them!
I have only colored a few things with them and haven't even tried any of the other cool things you can do with them, but I think I love them. I don't think they'll ever replace my copics, but I sure love the results I am getting.
This is the first card I did. I flipped through my Unity kit of the Month images and this flower stamp JUMPED out at me. Love them. It's from the  12/12 {everyday Fairytail kit}

I used Stampin' Up! watercolor paper and inked it up with some Graphite Brilliance ink and then embossed with some clear embossing powder. I love the little extra edge this  gives your image, helping to keep in the lines while coloring.

 I used Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire for my flower petals, Scattered straw and Rusty hinges for my flower centers and then Peeled Paint and Forest Moss for my leaves. I added a bit of shading around my flowers with Pumice Stone and Tattered Rose.

I kept the rest of the card simple and distressed the edges a bit with the edge of my scissors, lined the main image panel with some Nightshift Blue and added a factory Green Button the the corner.
I stamped the sentiment from the same kit in Midnight Muse ink and then added on some pretty lace and tied it all up with some twine.

Are you familiar with the Unity Kit of the Month club? It's a fabulous value and a great mix of stamps that come right to your door every month. Check it out HERE. The current kit is sooooo fun. We're gearing up for fall. {cozy moments}

Thanks for stopping by today. I've got another Unity card tomorrow for the hop. Come back.
