TCP255- {bring on the cake}

I've got a TCP TUESDAY challenge card today and I am the host for this week's challenge! So fun! I hope you'll play along. I don't think the theme will  surprise you at all. In fact, I really am giggling to myself that I have SOOOOO many birthday cards to make for the next two weeks. This is another one going out in the mail soon.

Here's what you need to create: TCPTues255 – Prezzies,Candles, Cake-Oh my! It’s my Birthday week, so create something that has an image of a present, candle, or cake. {If it has all three, you’ll score some bonus points with me!}

I used this adorable bun. It's called Bring on the Cake. I just love the giant cake with all the candles. I used my copic markers to color him up.

After I was done, I added a coating of Crystal Effects to the frosting.....yum! and a bit of stickles to the candle.

I used the current Deconstructing Sketch for this card. Great panels and perfect to showcase this bun.
I love cutting out a sentiment to fit a circle. I used the little banner piece from Bitty Banners for one last touch of festiveness!

Come on by the TCP Blog to see all the challenge details AND to load your cards to the linky tool.

Here are the Details on how you can join in on the fun:

Sweet Sunday Sketch {birthday balloons}

I hope you aren't tired of seeing birthday cards around here. I wasn't kidding when I said I had a TON to give away in the coming weeks. So I have another one for you. And yes, it's a guy card, too. Aside from me and two of my girl friends, the rest of the February birthdays are all male! Lucky for you, I'll have lots of masculine card inspiration to share!

It's Sunday, so that means I have my Sweet Sunday Sketch card for you. I let my Die-namics do the work on this card.

The word celebrate is from Celebratory Greetings. I love these sentiment dies. They really add a lot of POP  to a card. I also really love the giant Text Background stamp. I stamped it with Olive ink onto Natural cs.

That little tabs is from Blueprints 10.

I cut three balloons using the MFT Party Balloons Die-namics. I decided to only use two on the outside, which then allowed me to add the third one to the inside.

Here is the sketch for the week:

Stop by Karen's Blog for all three challenge details.

 Don't forget to see what the Sweet Sunday Sketch team has done this week.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a fabulous Sunday and a great start to your week.

Retro Sketch no.100 {Reverse Confetti helps celebrate!}

I told you I'd be back! Two posts in one day....it's been awhile since I have made that happen. There is good reason. Reverse Confetti is this week's sponsor over at Retro Sketch Challenge Blog! It's the 100th sketch and I love it. If you have been around my blog for some time now, then you know I am a big fan of the the Retro Sketches.

I couldn't pass up  this opportunity to make a sample. I used the sweet Quirky Cutie: Freida Fox for my card today.

I just stamped the top portion of her, just enough to fit in that Polaroid frame. I hadn't used my Distress markers to color her up yet, so I made sure to do that on this card. I love how she turned out. Be sure to use a waterproof ink when coloring with these makers and an aqua painter.

I used some soft, subtle colors all around her. The hearts were cut from the small die included in the Love Note Confetti cut set. I added some tone-on-tone polka dots thanks to Whole Lotta Dots. In the background You'll see I used the fabulous woodgrain from Forever Fall. Ahhhhhh, it had been too long since I stamped that great pattern.

Here is the sketch:

 but be sure to hop over to the Retro Sketch Blog  to Check out the sketch details.

SFYTT9 {something wonderful}

Hello February! I love this month, for many reasons: It's my birthday month AND I received two of the best gifts during this month (2 of my boys, one of which actually CAME on my birthday!),  it's another month closer to Spring, and it's the month in which we celebrate LOVE just to name a few! February is a GREAT month. Let's kick it off right with the next SFYTT Challenge from Reverse Confetti

I love these sketches. They are always so fun to work with. I decided to ink up Paper Crane today. Gosh, I love the inspirational quotes in this set, and the pretty fonts are so swoon worthy.

I used some Crate Paper-Flea Market papers and added lots of stitching around the edges. The pretty scalloped frame from Love Note Confetti Cuts was the perfect resting place to stamp my words (in Fuse Green ink) and add my crane (popped up with dimensionals).

Following the sketch, I also added in a row of scallops in the background. The Double Edge Scallop border made the job easy. I also tied on my favorite twine.

At the last minute, I added a trio of enamel dots and stamped a row of arrows in Grout Grey ink.

Here is the sketch to work with this month.

AND.....Here are the challenge details. We sure hope you'll play along.

  • The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 14th. The sketch will be posted in the sidebar and you will be able to click on it to get to that month’s SFYTT post with the link list during this time.
  • You may enter as many times as you wish.
  • There will be a winner each month and that person will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store and claim the title of 'Fetti Fave. The winner of SFYTT will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 15th of each month.

I have another post going up later today! Reverse Confetti is sponsoring this week's Retro Sketch Challenge. I played along. Come back to check it out!
