Lil' Inker Designs Monthly Meet Up-Stars

The LID crew is back with the November Monthly Meetup Challenge. This month Laura has picked stars as our focus. I just love all the star choices from Lil' Inker Designs. It's also great that Laura has put the star dies on SALE!!! Snatch 'em up quick!

I used the beautiful Seasonal Stars on my card and the perfect holiday stamp set, All the Christmas You'll Ever Need. I just love the sentiment I used and it seemed perfectly paired with theses stars.

I used a few other of my favorite LID dies. The Stitched Mats-Circles and the Dual Stitched Rectangles. You might be thinking that is not a circle die you used, but it is! I used a trick I learned from Laura Bassen, when I went to die cut my circle, I slid the paper and die down over the edge of my cutting plate before I ran it through my Vagabond. This will ensure that the bottom edge of the circle will NOT be cut out. Then I simply used my paper trimmer and snipped off the cut circle piece. SO fun and a great way to get a cool look from your circle dies.

Before I stamped my sentiment, I went ahead and did some ink blending with Mustard Seed And Spiced Marmalade. Then I stamped the sentiment over top. Doesn't it look like there is a glow behind the words? Love that!

So be sure to hop on over to the LID Blog to see MORE star inspiration from the Lil' Inker Designs DT. You'll also find the challenge details and linky. We hope you'll play along. There is a pretty sweet PRIZE up for grabs.

Thanks for coming by today! I am always appreciative of your kind words.

Reverse Confetti Surprise Mini Release

It's a surprise MINI release by Reverse Confetti and we are all super excited!!! Usually Reverse Confetti has a new release every OTHER month, on the 8th. Remember 8 is GREAT!!! Jen came up with some fabulous products and didn't want to wait to share it with you all!
The team has sneak peeks today and MORE samples of the products with the actual RELEASE tomorrow....Oct. 8!
Okay.....so I'm excited to show you the awesome new Hanging Out Confetti Cut! It might look small, but it is one MIGHTY die. It makes door hangers and so much more!

You also get a sneak peek from me with the new Round About additions stamps! I {HEART} circles! These stamps are so versatile....they were made to be used with the Envie Wrap and fit the Circles 'n Scallops dies perfectly, sooooo they can be used on ANY project. Today I made birthday Balloons!!!
I started by cutting a 4.25 x6 inch piece of cardstock. I then used the Hanging Out Confetti cut to create the door hanging opening. I then got busy decorating. I stamped some tone on tone stars using So Many Stars. I added diagonal strips of coordinating designer paper and stitched it along the seams.

I cut the circles with Circles 'n Scallops and then stamped the Round About Additions birthday circles in navy and gray ink. I added two of the teeny triangles from Pretty Panels-Triangle to the back of each circle Balloon to create a "knot" and a place to tie on my twine for the strings.
A few sequins and Oh, My Stars confetti cuts in silver accent the festive Birthday Door Hanger. Hubby's birthday is next weekend. I will be using this for sure.

Here is a closer look at the products I used to create this fun party favor.

Now head on over to the Reverse Confetti Blog   to see more inspiration and the list of bloggers today.
You'll also want to leave comments at each of the blogs today AND on our Facebook page....there are a few RC gift certificates up for grabs!
See you back here tomorrow for Release Day!

Stamping with Friends {diagonals}

Stamping is more fun with friends. Since most, if not all, of my stampy friends live far away from me getting together to stamp rarely happens. BUT thanks to the amazing thing called the internet and social media, I am always connected to them. I love that!

Every once in a great while I get to do a Friendly Challenge with my friends Jackie and Becky. We like to keep it simple and it's just for fun. Becky challenged us to include some kind of diagonal element to a card. I used a bold color combo-Bermuda Bay, Soft Navy, and Lemon Drop card stocks.

I am playing along with the new Challenge blog, called The Cutting Edge. ummmmm, it's a challenge blog dedicated to DIE CUTS!!! I think I use dies on almost all of my cards. I was inspired by Amy's card, the bottom left one.  I'd love to be a guest designer, so I'm throwing my hat into the ring. So fun!

I used the Reverse Confetti set, Winning and the Oh, My Stars Confetti cuts on my card today. I just love that star border. One of my star panels was created with a Star Stencil from Simon Says Stamp. I sponged on some distress ink in different shades of yellow.

I needed a little WOW! factor, so I accented the sentiment with more star dies from Oh, My Stars in silver glitter paper.  Wondering where that sweet little outline star image came from? I used the cut and re-cut method. I first used the negative star from the border die (cut from silver glitter paper) and then lined up the small star die on top of it. I then ran it through my Vagabond again to cut it out. love it! A few enamel dots completed the look.

Be sure to stop by Becky's Blog and then Jackie's Blog to see how they used the diagonal on their cards.

RAK's and Wednesday Sketches

I have been stamping up a storm this past week and reconnected with some challenges out there in Blog land. You'll be seeing those later this week.

Today I have a duo of WSC cards. I love using similar product to create totally different cards. It helps stream line the process. Throw in a couple of great sketches and these two cards were done within an hour.
I am also making a point to send out some RAK's!!! It is always fun to brighten someone's day with a handmade card.

First up is my card for the WSC129 sketch. With Independence Day coming up this week, I knew I wanted to ink up the sweet PI-Lady Liberty. I pieced up her gown, and added some shading with a copic marker.

The rest of her was colored up with my copics.

I used these colors to color up Lady Liberty.

I then cut out some stars with the original Stacking Stars Die-namics and some Nightshift Blue cs. I love that these stars are all connected and I can cut a bunch of stars in a variety of shapes with one pass of my Vagabond.  I tucked in a few sequins for some sparkle.

Since I had all these papers still out, I also decided to play along with WSC130.  I followed the sketch almost exactly, I just left off the flower element and decided to scatter the rest of the stars I had cut out from my first card over the Heirloom Label Die-namics

The sentiment is from the Bold Statements stamp set. It is out of stock right now, It was this month's FREEBIE with the Cherry on Top promotion. Good news is, you can purchase it with the next release when it goes into the general stamping circulation.  It's a fun one.

I picked up this cool sparkly twine, Metallic Vintage Hemp Twine,  with my order from {iheartpapers} last week. It's so cool.

Hope your week is starting out GREAT!!! I know for many of you this is a short week with a long holiday weekend in store.
