Mojo and Make it Monday

Hello, Tuesday. I have a combined challenge card today. Heather Jensen and I were talking last week and decided to play along together with the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenge. Yep, you read that right......Papertrey Ink.

If you  have been around my blog long enough, then you know that I was a HUGE fan of all things PTI. I used to follow every release. Well when I joined the MFT design team over three years ago all my "extra" stampy time was dedicated to MFT. My love for paper, stamps and dies shifted and I was ok with that.

Well since June, I have really enjoyed discovering new stamps and re-discovering the companies I once loved. I have not bought anything new from PTI in years, so I had opened my drawer and took a gander at what I had to work with. Love "shopping" from my own stash.

This week's challenge was to Stamp Random Background patterns. Seemed easy enough. I am just mad at myself for not taking a photo of my background panel before I put my card together.

Not sure you'll be able to tell from my photo, but I used a totally unexpected stamp set for my background. I used the Wise Owl set. It had a great mix of little images (mostly the different eye ball images) that I could stamp here and there. I used Aqua mist, Summer Sunrise inks from PTI and a red and black from MFT.

I was following the Mojo Monday sketch for this card too, so I used a few other PTI products to complete my card. This tag might just be my all time FAVORITE tag shape. It's the Tag Sale #5 die and I cut some of the Fancy Pants Good Life papers.

That flower is from Hello, Friend stamp set. I used the matching die to cut it out. It's the Friendly Flower die. Isn't it fun to have a die to match, that makes perfect cuts??

I can't wait to see what Heather comes up with for this challenge. I know it will be gorgeous. Be sure to hop over to her blog to see her take on the Make It Monday challenge.

Thanks so  much.

Make it Monday.....and It's Friday!

I snuck in a little time to do some creating just for fun. I loved the Make it Monday challenge by Papertrey ink this week and it was  a great way to till time before my new PTI goodies arrive. This week's challenge was to layered mats and frames
Sadly, I don't own any of the Mat Stack dies....hard to believe, I know, so I layered up some tags with my frame. I used the Tag Sale 4 as my base and make a sweet, sugared (microfine glitter) frame for my Holiday greeting.

I used the limitless layers 1 3/4 circles to create the frame and added some leaves (turning a new leaf)  that were impressed with Polka dot impression plate. A few pindots were added to the background with Polka Dot Basics 1, thought it looked like snow.  Holiday sentiment is from Holiday Tags 2008.
Here's another look....the tag in action on a kraft bag.

acrylic paint with PTI

I had this on my mind all week. Here I am the night before a new Make it Monday challenge goes live. Luckily I got some crafty time after the boys went to bed tonight.
So the challenge was to use acrylic paint with your stamps. I found this bottle of purple acrylic paint in my cupboard earlier this week (that's why I've been thinking about this challenge). I knew it would look great on craft cs.
I pulled out the Tin Type background set and stamped the bottom half of the paper, added a strip of ripe avocado cs and finished the top with some handmade polka dots (from the finger dauber that I applied the acrylic paint with. The air plane is from FlyAway. I chose to NOT use the banner and added a button instead.
Simple and sweet.

PTI-Make it Monday.....Glitter Die Borders

I got brave earlier today and pulled out some glitter and a glue pen (I remembered why I don't like them. LOL!) and gave this week's Make it Monday Challenge a go.  I think I need to try a newer, better version of a glue pen. I was not diggin' how it was following the border of my die. A challenge is a challenge, right?!!

The challenge from Papertrey was to add a glitter border around a die.  I made a sweet girly birthday card with the Tag It's #1 stamp set and the Limitless Layers dies. I also added in a bit of rickrac, some sweet blush twill and a tag for the sentiment. I used the white Glitter Ritz Microfine glitter from MFT.

The papers are my new My Mind's Eye papers. This is from the 6x6 line and it's called Flair. It's soft and pretty and I like it!

PTI and a Make it Monday Challenge

Nothing like some new goodies to motivate me to use some of my Papertrey Ink products. I was on a roll today and ended up making 3 quick PTI cards. You'll see the other two on Blog Hop night.  I think it's been MONTHS and months since I have remembered to play along.

I also took full advantage of my new dies, turning a new leaf,  and used them for the Make It Monday technique-Reverse Masking.

I used the mask of the larger leaf  stem, to add some vintage cream polka dots and then sponged in around the edges to create the full leaf. I love the look of cream on kraft! I set that all up on an Enchanted Evening card base and accented with the Blueberry ribbon and ric rac. I threw in some lace, and a few buttons for good measure. Sentiment is from Signature Greetings and I did it up in Ripe Avocado.
