CAS-wedding style!

I finished the CAS challenge this week on the actual day it was posted. I was fortunate to get some stamping time yesterday (yes, little man took a nap!). It was a wedding challenge. I played along as an equal opportunity stamper and used a little bit from lots of vendors. Here's my card.

I started with some Spring Moss cardstock and stamped the PTI set, Damask Designs with Versamark. I then used the SU sizzlit, Little Leaves in Ripe Avocado. The square was cut from chocolate chip and matted with very vanilla cs. I ran it through the cuttle bug swiss dots embossing folder. The sentiment is also from SU, Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched out with the modern label punch. Finished it all off with some satin vanilla ribbon from PTI, and a few drops of liquid pearl. Nice, clean, simple, and a touch of elegance. enjoy! Hugs, Lisa

A New Stamp Something Design Team!

We have a fresh new team working with the Stamp Something blog and weekly challenges. It is going to be so much fun getting to know everyone. Today is our first challenge together. Yep, it's wedding season and we are sharing some wedding cards this week and asking you to join the fun. I think the Damask Designs stamp set by Papertrey ink is a beautifully, elegant set and it is perfect for a wedding card. I went with the colors from my wedding (Plum purple, black and White) to create this CAS wedding card.

CAS and Some Rock-n-roll!

This week's CAS challenge on SCS is to use the rock-n-roll technique. I inked up the large damask stamp from PTI's Damask Designs with melon berry, rocked with raspberry fizz(love this combo). I think I have mentioned this before, but the PTI Melon Berry color is sooo close to SU's retired Groovy Guava so I was able to use up some textured cs and stitched ribbon (I pulled out the stitching, remember that trick?). Okay, back to the rock-n-roll. I also did the same with the sentiment. This is a birthday card for a dear stamping friend (won't say who, in case she's looking ;) Check out the challenge here. Good Sunday Morning

The sun is shining here but it is still pretty cold. Seeing the sun always makes me feel better. I was trying to place my pre-order from the SU Occasions Mini (You are going to LOVE it!) but the system is experiencing problems so I came here to post instead of getting my frustration level up. I have two Papertrey Ink cards to share today. If you were in my SCS gallery the last few days then you have already seen them. I like to post my cards in both places, just so you don't miss anything ;) Here you go, I am still playing with the Damask designs and I had to use the wonderful Fresh Alphabet. This and the simple alphabet (I used it on the popsicle card) are my first two acrylic alphas and I really like working with them. It makes for easy letter placement (you can see where they are going!). The sketch for this come from Card Positioning Systems and a chance to win some PTI goodness! There are a TON of entries, I'm sure I won't be the lucky winner, but you can't win if you don't try. Right?! This next one is a baby card (ignore the crooked sentiment, I didn't have the patience to re-do yet another element on this card. I had re-done a few other things on this card before I got to the sentiment. That word Welcome made me so mad! It is being sent out as is. Is that bad of me?)

VSN-did you play along?

Yesterday was the Feb. VSN (virtual stamp night) over at SCS. It was my first VSN participation ( I did do the mini-crush event last month, so that may be my first official one) and it was fun. I only wish I had a chance to do all of the challenges. The hosts this month did a fabulous job organizing the event! Kudos to you girls! I almost forgot all about it when Kristin emailed me and asked if I wanted to stamp along with her. We got a chance to chat a little and it sure helped make the time pass on another cold Saturday afternoon without Tim home. Here are two of the cards I did using a new PTI set, Damask Designs. I really wanted this set because it is so beautiful, but also because one of my former GSG members, Dawn McVey designed it!!! I'm so excited for her and all that has happened to her in this past year. She's a stamping super star!

I tried a new technique with this card, melted crayon. I even put my iron to good use (I rarely iron anything, LOL!) It was fun to try, but don't see myself doing this too often.

This is a clear acetate card and I REALLY like how it came together. I used some more new PTI goodness on this, along with the same set. The new color is Melon Berry (I was surprise how, almost dead on this color is to last year's SU IN Color, Groovy Guava. In case you were wondering). I paired it up with PTI's Berry Sorbet and a pop of Raspberry Fizz. I did use their Vintage Cream ink on the acetate and it is not drying, so I will need to re-do this card with some stazon. It looks pretty for the picture, but it is all smeared up now since my DS got a hold of it. Enjoy your Sunday! It is a sad one around here as we say good-bye to a friend and neighbor today. He lost his courageous battle to cancer last Monday. He was young, and leaves behind a beautiful wife and two kids. My heart and prayers go out to the Ballard family!
