Sweet Sunday Sketch 227 {smile}

Happy Sunday. It's time for another fun sketch with the Sweet Sunday Sketch team. I pulled out my Lil' Inker Designs products for today's card. I love how it turned out so soft and pretty! (links are listed below).

I used the Modern Mendi LID stamp set and matching dies for my corner accent on the main panel. Distress Markers were used to watercolor some watercolor distress cardstock. I scribbled the colors I wanted on my craft mat, then  spirtzed it with some water and carefully laid my cardstock on top. I let it dry and then stamped the  flower in Archival black ink.

For the leaves, I clear embossed them and then used my aqua painter to color them in. I tried this with the flower and it just didn't look right, so I opted for the other watercolor technique for that. I added some black thread behind it to help make it pop!

I used the fabulous Smile Word Die form LID. Gosh I love the font of these brushstroke words. In the background you'll see some stitched stripes. I manipulated the Stitches & Stripes Cover plate to get those three strips and then adhered them to my card base. The piece of vellum was cut with the Stitched Mats-rectangle die from LID.

Here is the sketch for this week.

Come Play along: simply make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of Karen's post to enter your card. The links will close on Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time). Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC227 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

 Don't forget to see what the Sweet Sunday Sketch team has done this week.
