The Challenge#6 { Funky birthday }

I needed a birthday card on the fly. Dies are perfect for a quick and cute card every time! I used some funky papers and lots of MFT Die-namics to pull this card together.

I love the birthday Die-namics from MFT. I cut the words from some green paper from this great Fancy Pants paper that I used on the whole card. FUn and funky designs. I was inspired by the triangles in the pink paper, so I used the triangle cover plate in my background. I love it.

This flower from Blueprints 14 is one of my favorites. Following the sketch. I used it as one of the circle elements and then tucked some black twine behind it for the other element.

I'm linking up to Lesley Croghan's The Challenge #6 sketch challenge.

The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is Die Crazy ....use die cuts. I've got lots of them here. Check my link list below for all the products I used.

Sugar Pea Sketch Challenge {tweet friend}

I needed some color therapy. I have been busy with my watercolor class and it's a big brain drain some days.   I have to really think and work at it. It was nice to sit and work with an old familiar friend, my Copic markers. It really is therapeutic to sit and color. I've always loved coloring, it's no different as an adult. It's just more expensive! haha.

I used this sweet image from Sugar Pea Stamps. it's the Tweet Friend stamp set, but I only inked up part of the image. Thanks to Jenny Peterson for reminding me the other day, that this is okay to do. I LOVED this card of hers.

I am playing along with the current Sugar Pea Sketch Challenge over there. It was a great way to use a stitched frame I created with my Lil' Inker Designs dies. I just cut and re-cut with two, nesting stitched rectangles.

here are the markers I used.

I added in a die cut fishtail flag and a pretty buttony-flower handmade embellie to follow the sketch.

Check out the challenge. You could win a Gift Certificate to their amazing store.

Reverse Confetti May Color Challenge

It's the 16th of the month and that means it's time for a new Color Challenge with Reverse Confetti.  This month is a stunning color combo and inspiration photo. You'll for sure want to come play along.

SO I have almost made a different card for this month's challenge 3 times. I don't know why I am so nervous to share this card with you all. I do love it and am so proud of myself for trying something new. If you have been by my blog for the past few weeks then you know I've been busy with the Watercoloring for Card Makers class.

I tried my hand at some faux hand painting by using stamps. I created a pretty floral arrangement  by coloring my Petals 'n Posies stamps with my Distress Markers, stamping each image, and then going in with a detail paint brush and water, I soften the lines and add more color and depth.

 It was a slow process and I find I don't always have the patience it takes to water color. Waiting for each color layer to dry is HARD for me. I like to speed things up with my heat gun.

Here is a closer look at some of the details. I used the newly released You Make Me Smile stamp set for my sentiment. I used Walnut Stain distress ink and then spritzed it with some water to give it a watercolored look.

I added touches of pretty with a tiny scalloped layer from the Double Edge Scallop border Confetti Cut.  I added some color splatters with my paint brush and tiny sequins for the finishing touches.

Here is the challenge graphic.
