H{ippity} Hop and a Happy Birthday!

This may be de'javu to some of you. I totally had some dates mixed up a few weeks ago. I hope I didn't spoil the surprise! Today the {ippity} DT is celebrating our previous Guest Designer, Stephanie's, birthday. She is the current Unity Guest Designer and since Unity and {ippity} are ONE big happy family, we want to say Happy Birthday to her! I sent this sweet, happy, sunshiney card off to her. I combined the adorable sun from Quote à la Happy and a simple sentiment from Just Wanted to Say with a few fun elements-the die cut, embossed clouds, ruffled ribbon grass and divine twine. If you need some {ippity} ??? I've got quite a few sets left in stock and I would love to give them a home! Email me with your order.
Now head over to the {ippity} blog to see what the rest of the DT created for Stephanie, plus many of the {ippity} Chicks in the blog hop are dedicating their cards to the wonderfully, sweet Michelle who is leaving the Unity family. It's bittersweet and we will all miss her! In case you didn't hear, you can read all about that in Angela's announcement last week.
See you all back here tomorrow!

Happier Post

I wasn't going to post all weekend, but then I decided I didn't want my big long sob story up all weekend, either. Sooooo, here's a happier subject-the Lego Train!

My boys loooooove Legos. I seriously think we could open our own store. Don't tell the boys, but I think I secretly suck up a handful, unintentionally, every time I vacuum. They are everywhere. My boys are also pretty enamored with trains. Sooooo 2 Christmas's ago, Santa brought them an electric Lego Train. It is the coolest thing (last year he brought another, bigger and better one too). It's the best of both worlds. I used three MFT die-namics dies-oval chain border, the new star border, and Framed Greetings die. There are also some earth girl buttons and baby braddies. The stamp set was the new Wyatt set, Wyatt the Conductor. Here's a detail shot. It shows the sweet little Wyatt Engineer and all 3 dies. Paper is once, again Making Memories with a little SU dsp thrown in.
The bus situation worked itself out. Thank goodness. J is now sitting with 2 boys his own age and he is MUCH happier. Thanks for all your sweet words yesterday. Enjoy the weekend!

A Little Loveasaurus

Oh, boy.....day 3 of school yesterday ended in drama, tears, and emotional turmoil. Yep, 3 days in and my boys were spent! They are normally, rough and tough and ALL-BOY, but when 3 long days away from home get a hold of you I guess they break down. So did mama! Both boys got off the bus in tears. School went great, they said, it was the assigned seats on the bus that gave my 3rd. grader his first taste of heart ache and disappointment-you know Real Life! Long story short, he was supposed to sit with his buddy, then the buddy's brother called him to the back of the bus, so my guy was left standing there and forced to sit in the front seat with 2 kindergarten GIRLS!!!! To an 8yr. old, this is devastating. He was so strong, until he saw me and then the tears came a flowin'! THEN my 1st. grader, runs home, locks himself in his room and says he doesn't want to talk. YIKES!!! What is going on???? Turns out, he is upset because his big brother is upset. And he was soooo tired, so that makes the tears flow pretty easy when you're 6. I ended up crying and left to think about how to handle my first of many, I'm sure, heart breaking situations. He's my oldest, so this is all new to me. Okay, sooooo you didn't come here to read about my family issues, but thanks for listening. This blog is a little bit of my therapy, dontcha know!

Here's a couple of quick and easy boy cards I made last month. I used more of that great Making Memories dp and I can't say enough of this sweet Little Loveasaurus. I had different plans for today's post, but yesterday changed all that. Here's a closeup of this cutie. Have a great weekend. I know we are all looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Happy weekend!

Hip Hop-Sept. 9

***please scroll down for my MFT Greatest Hits Post***

Happy Hip Hop day! I love that for two years now, this day has always brought a smile to my face. I know no matter what is going on that I can come to the Unity blog and now, the ippity blog, too and find wonderful creations, inspiration, and friendship. I may not get as much chit chat time in as I did before, but I know the time I do have is always going to make me smile. Today's card came together quickly-LOVE that! I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch and my new Cosmo cricket dp-Winter Mittens (yeah...now I NEED the stamp set to go with it!) I love this pack because it is not only for holiday projects.

Today I made a lovey card with the Thoughts from the Past background stamp and the fun sentiment from Love in Return. Scallops were created with my die-namics dies-love those, too.

Soooo, by now you know the drill. Click the button to follow along in the blog hop. Maria is up next. Enjoy!

MFT Greatest Hits.....Jolinne

Does anyone else hear the Dolly Parton song everytime they say this name??? She spells it differently, but I love it the song (yep, I dig me some country music at times). Random question I know, but sometimes my mind is random. lol.

There is nothing random about this sweet, sweet line of stamps by MFT. I think she is just beautiful. Today is our Greatest Hits day and this month we are pulling out the Jolinne stamps. I love this day, because it forces (yeah, you really had to twist my arm-NOT!!!) to revisit some older, but still loved images. This was the first Jolinne stamp I ordered and I got it right before I joined the DT. Then I never got to get it inky......so today was the day. It's Fairy Sweet and I did her up with some pretty Bella Blvd. dp. I also added some soft Sheer Princess ribbon in pink, a striped scallop strip (Jumbo Scallop die-namics) and a great felt flower thanks to the new Perfect Petal flower Trio die-namics. The cool thing about today is you not only get to see some fabulous Joliene images in their glory, BUT you get a coupon code to shop! Kim's got all the details on her blog and the full line up of hoppers today.

Enter code JOLINNE at checkout today only and receive $5 off ANY Jolinne set!

TCP Tuesday on a Wednesday

With my bit O' stampy time yesterday, I managed to play along with The Cat's Pajama's Tuesday challenge. This week, was an inspiration challenge with this photo. Yummmmm-O! Aren't those colored pencils just de-lish, all pointy and new! I played up the points and finally got around to making some cute pin wheels. Easy peesy! I thought they were a great accent to this cute birthday card. Stamp set is, Forget About the Cake. Papers are Making Memories, SU, and My Mind's Eye-perfect boy papers. I know I keep using them, but they are still on my desk and I can't help myself! I still have a scrapbook page to show you with them. Thanks for looking. Tomorrow is a double post Thursday with Hip Hop and MFT Greatest Hits! Stay tuned!

A little stampy time today!

School FINALLY started for us today. We had an extra long summer, thanks to some construction on our high school. The last few weeks have been really relaxing and lazy, but we were ready for a routine to begin.
Of course I couldn't help myself and made the boys pose for a first day of school picture. The reflectors on their backpacks crack me up. I did not color coordinate them, they dressed themselves and just happened to both wear blue today. Bonus for me, come scrapbooking time. I did good, no tears this morning. I sent my middle guy off to first grade, so it was his first FULL day of school. I think first grade is a much harder adjustment than Kindergarten. He did great and was all smiles as he got off the bus.

Soooo, with the start of school, a playdate for my littlest guy, and a nap for hubby (he works tonight) I got some stampy time! Actually, this image, Jolinne-friends forever, I've had colored for a few weeks. She just never made it onto a card during release week. I think she is just the sweetest! Mercy's Tuesday sketch was just what she needed. I also did up the inside and just looooove how the framed greeting die-namics die fits perfectly into the negative piece of my Perfect Bracket die-namics. I'll see you back here tomorrow with another card I made today with some fun The Cat's Pajama's stamps.
