Reverse Confetti {October Blog Hop}

Hello October (cooler weather—yay!) and Hello REVERSE CONFETTI Fans! It’s the 8th of the month –Blog Hop time!

 Are ya’ll ready to savor some sweet inspiration? Take some time to enjoy this month’s creative Blog Hop from Reverse Confetti. Last month’s release was all about fall and spooks and today we are inspiring you with projects and cards using those stamps and any other previously released stamps from Reverse Confetti. Along with the Confetti Crew (our fabulous design team), we’ve also invited some extra friends to join in on the action!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Taheerah Atchia’s blog (she's been a Fetti Fave!). It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all of Reverse Confetti’s amazing stamp sets! 

I was inspired by all the fall sets to do a little catching up with my Project Life album. I pulled these Instagram photos from last year and finally got them documented. I used A LOT of Reverse Confetti stamps. This is a photo heavy post. Grab a cuppa something good and enjoy. 

I am happy to say I only used cardstock, stamps, and ink on this double layout. I let all the fabulous stamps and my photos do the work here today. Ok, so there are a few dies I used (for the notebook edge, speech bubble, and a 1/4 circle punch), but THAT's it! No other embellies!

 Here is a close up shot of the left side of my layout. I'll share  some detailed shots of each of the pockets. Since I used 4x4 square instagram photos, I needed to mount each of my pics onto a 4x6 cardstock  base. That gave me the perfect opportunity to customize each insert. 

Here is a look at the titles I added. Stamps I used are Forever Fall, Lighthearted Alphabet, and some Arrows-n-elements. I like to stick to a core color scheme for my full layout. This helps tie it all together. Here I used orange, purple, kraft, black and white for both my inks and papers. 

 The middle pockets are all 3x4, so I cut my picures down to that size as well as my cardstock. I used these as some journaling spots. The orange one, was all stamped with Whole Lotta Dots in Sweet Tooth ink and then that beautiful quote and woodgrain heart from Forever Fall. 

The kraft pocket insert was created with the Count Your Rainbows stamp set. I made a custom list to journal, making the numbers co-inside with my photos. You can see that on my list, I stamped the round numbers in purple ink and then stamped them again in black ink, and then punched them out attaching them to my photos. I am so happy I kept my teeny little 1/4 inch  circle punch. It was a perfect fit for these numbers. 

I needed a little something for this pocket, so I added some orange and purple arrows (Arrows -n- elements)  along the edge of my photo. Love those polka dots!

Here is a close up of the right side of my layout. 

You'll see a lot of the same elements on this side of my layout. I love using Lighthearted Alphabet to make my own titles. A few arrows and hearts (I Like You) complete the picture of our sweet puppy. He was 15 weeks old, here. 

I snapped this fun picture of two of my boys with their best buds. I used more Lighthearted Alphabet, Whole Lotta Dots and added a few little acorns from Forever fall. I need a little something extra on the left side of this pocket, so I stamped that frame from Arrows-n-Elements.

I love this quote from Count Your Rainbows. The polka dots (from Whole Lotta Dots)  in white ink on the kraft ink make my heart happy. 

I used some of my favorite images from from Forever Fall, along with the Halloween sentiment from Spooky Sentiments to make a stamped topper for my journal insert. I added a few white stamped hearts from Arrows -n- Elements. 

I stamped another fun quote from Spooky Sentiments and added a few custom Jack 'o lanterns with the pumpkins from Spooky Cuties and Forever Fall. 

My boys had fun making a spooky house out of ginger bread and decorated it with lots of candy. The creepy, rickety fence and bats from Spooky Cuties were the perfect accents to show off this photo.

RC-U R Awesome

Great things happening around me this weekend. My longtime BFF just celebrated the birthday of her second son this morning! I'm so happy for her and her family. Love you Sara!

 I also was blessed to spend a long weekend with my parents in town. The boys were sad at bedtime last night, knowing we would have to say good-bye in the morning. It's always bitter sweet. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday Family dinner with my mom's homemade lasagna. ♥♥♥ Many Blessings!

 As you can tell from my blog, there was NO crafting going on. I'm ok with that, but I didn't want you all to wait any longer for something new to pop up on my blog. So I have a clean and simple card using some fun Reverse Confetti stamps. 

I ended up using 4 different stamp sets. I know I've said it before, but I love how you can mix and match so many different elements from all the different sets.  Whole Lotta dots is in the background. I stamped those open dots in some Midnight Muse ink on to Sno Cone card stock. 

Arrows-n-Elements take center stage on the Primitive White cardstock strip. I stamped my favorite polka dotted arrows in the same navy ink and added a pop of color with the words stamped in Calypso Coral ink. I hit the edges of this panel with some Walnut Stain Distress ink.

I added a trio of hearts from I Like You. I stamped them in Berrylicious ink to create a subtle look in the background. Love adding tone on tone stamping. The sweet little Lighthearted Alphabet was the perfect way to add my U and R, cut up on a teeny rectangle to complete my sentiment from Arrows-n- Elements. U R Awesome!!! I added a few enamel dots scattered here and there for a simple embellishment.

TCPTuesday {minimal embellishments}

Hello, I'm back today with the new TCP Tuesday Challenge. It's an embellishment challenge, and here's the catch......use MINIMAL (no more than 2) embellishments on your card. That includes, ribbon, buttons, dots, twine, bling, ect. Try just using paper and ink. Let those stamps do all the WOW for your card. 

Here's my take.

I used the Sheepish stamp set for my card today. I colored this ewe up with my distress markers. Super easy and love the look. His scarf was paper pieced with some yellow paper from the Glitz pack, Finnley.

 I only used two teeny, tiny staples along with my sentiment.  After I added them, I thought I should have just left them off. But, they are there and it still fits the challenge. :)

 I added a sweet Inside Pinking cut up edge and some stitching for added interest. 

Minimal Embellishments

So, here's the scoop. 

1. The First Tuesday of the Month Alma will post a challenge on her blog. The challenge will also be posted on our Splitcoaststampers forum and on our Facebook page
2. If you want to play along you just upload your design on Alma's blog using the InLinkz button. (The challenge button will be posted on the right hand column of this blog so you don't have to search around)
3. The Challenge will be a month-long challenge and you can play as many times as you like during that month.
4. Cards and projects must have at least one Cat's Pajamas Stamp or CutUps die in the project.
5. On the First Monday of the Month a winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and crowned Swanky Stamper. 
6. The Swanky Stamper will not only be acknowledged as the Swankiest Stamper for that month, but will also receive some of the stamps from our next release and get to play along with us at our Pajamas Party and Blog Hop. AND... They'll even get a special spot in the Gallery highlighting the project that won them the gig AND as snazzy badge to display on their blog.
7. The winner will be announced the First Monday of the month on Splitcoaststampers, Facebook page and Alma's Blog

You don't have to rush to get a challenge done each week. And you can play as many times as you wish. One sweet entry can win you the whole shebang.

Oct. SFYTT5 {trick or treat}

Heeeeelllllo, October! It's A new month and a new sketch from Reverse Confetti for you to try. You're going to love it. I do, and had some Halloween fun with my card. I have other ideas floating around in my head, so I'm hoping to give another stab at this layout later this month. 

I inked up the Spooky Cuties and Spooky Sentiment sets to create this, not-so-spooky card. The papers are from SU from last year. I just adore that plaid, so it set the tone for my card. 

There is a grey polka dotted pattern in the pack and as I was reaching for it to cut it up, I stopped myself and said "hey, I can make my own!".  So I pulled out some grey card stock and the small dots from Whole Lotta Dots and created a custom panel. 

I stamped the sentiment from Spooky Sentiments with Versamark ink and then sprinkled on some orange embossing powder. I love the shiny, smooth texture this adds to the card. 

I punched out three kraft circles and used a few of the images from Spooky Cuties to create a subtle background for my main images. I used the Versamark ink again, for that tone on tone look. 

I stamped three of the cuties onto white cardstock and then cut them out. I popped each one up with a foam dimensional.

The SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY details you need to know…

• There will be a new sketch posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 1st of each month.

• The sketch link list will be open from the 1st until noon CST on the 14th. The sketch will be posted in the sidebar and you will be able to click on it to get to that month’s SFYTT post with the link list during this time.

• We originally stated that you must play with Reverse Confetti stamps to win; however, we are allowing “anything goes” until the end of the year. Note, that we will be adding this requirement in January.

• You may enter as many times as you wish.

• There will be a winner each month and that person will receive ALL OF THE STAMP SETS for the next release and be invited to share their creations during our sneak peeks and hop!  The winner of SFYTT will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog on the 15th of each month.
