August MFT Creative Challenge

In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique.

This month, we're all making cards featuring Fun Folds!

My starting point was the SCS Resource page.  Holy Cow were there a ton of fun folds to choose from. I decided to finally give the  Diamond Fold a try.  It was easy and fun to work with. You can see the tutorial on how to make this great card HERE.

I used the new Just the Ticket set and die-namic as my inspiration. I prettied the card up with some doilies....the Decorative Doily collection. The largest one and the medium sized one from the Decorative Doily Duo.  To make the design flow, I also added the faux crochet border to each side of the card.

The middle doily is mounted on a diamond shaped square, hence the name, but my circle doily hides that a bit.

 

The card measures approx. 4.5 inches with the border strips added on.  It folds up nice and flat (I added the ribbon, belly band....couldn't resist, it just felt naked without the ribbon) and you pull it open to have the center, decorative piece pop out at you.

 

You can see here, that I added a seperate birthday sentiment (inked up with a marker from the same ticket image) on each side of the 2x4 inch strips. I also left some room to write a personal note and sign my name.  This one is going to my mom, so luckily I don't have to add a lot of words (just I Love You). She's just happy receiving my cards. ☺

 

Thanks for stopping by today. It sure feels great to create again.  We just got back from vacation and I hadn't touched a stamp in over 10 days.....that might just be a record.

Make Today a Beautiful Day....MFTWSC31

It's another edition of Wed. Stamp Club. Check out this sketch. I LOVE it! I used the new Sunflower PI girl and some gorgeous Authentique papers.

 I accented this cutie with the new open scallop doily duo and the solid bracket die-namic. I don't know if can see it, but the center of the sunflower and her barrette is giltterfied with Java Bean Ritz Microfine glitter.  Cardstock is both by MFT....have your ordered some??? It is deee-lish! I used whip cream and pink lemonade.

MFT Hop & Shop...

Welcome back!  It's 10pm EST and that means you can hop and shop to your hearts content.  This was another fantastic release by My Favorite Things.  What's your FAVE from this release??? Yeah, I know.... hard to narrow it down. Tonight is another chance to look at all the beautiful new product in action.  If you are just getting started, hop on back to Kim's blog.....she's kicking the night off with all the details.

I saved a few goodies for this blog hop.  I am IN. LOVE. with the new Tag You're It set and matching die-namic.

 I've been waiting......hoping, praying for a tag die by MFT and boy did Kim deliver! Wow! the stamp set is beautiful and fun, and has so many options for designing custom tags.

First up from me is this tag and card duo to show off my homemade strawberry jam.  My family gobbles this stuff up all year long and I love to share it with close friends and neighbors.  It's just the perfect little something to something to gift anyone.

See how it looks like I stitched around the tag? I didn't have to......there's this perfect dotted outline stamp that fits the tag perfectly. Quick, easy, and a great accent to any tag you create.  You'll also see I did up the sentiment on the Bracket Tab.

I made a matching card, kept it CAS and used many of the same elements that I used on the tag.  Instead of the bracket tab, I used the solid bracket border die-namic to bring in that same shape.....serioulsy LOVE that about the MFT product.

I really had a hard time NOT using this tag on everything I created this month. It is so fun to work on this smaller canvas and it really makes a great accent on any card. Here I used the tag die-namic and a few of the Tag You're It stamp set elements (butterfly and tag border) but I paired it up with a sentiment from the Triple Scoop set, All Smiles (it's an amazing sentiment set.....and you can get it for FREE this month. Read the details HERE). Papers are cosmo cricket and you'll see a bit of the  Simply Scallops on the card, too.

Here's another card I did with the new à la mode Bundle of Baby and the Tag die-namic. See how the tag die looks great as a backdrop for any stamp image. It's such a fun size to work with.

Tonight is the Night....last bit of MFT Teasers

One last day of teaser posts. Tonight is the big release. Are you ready??

Here's what you get to see today.....Sunflower Who's that Girl, and All Smiles (our Triple Scoop set).  Love them both.  If you didn't pick up the Sunflower WTG on VIP night, no worries you can get her tomorrow with all your other MFT goodies.

I used her with the new open scallop doily duo....the two outside ones are the smaller doilies and the middle on is the larger one. I thought they looked great mounted on the whip cream cs.  Loved that WTG is done up in a circle shape again this month.  It fits so nicely with the doilies.  Sentiment was stamped on the Bracket Tab die-namic.....nice, femine touch dontcha think?

I also finished this one off on the inside....a few upsy daisy dies in coordinating colors and a sentiment from the All Smiles set.  Wait until you see alll the beautiful sentiments included in this set.  I know it will quickly become a go-to set of mine.  

I debated sharing this one.  Is it cute? or Creepy?  I can't decide.... but I love the CAS feel of it, the fun polka dots,  and of course the wonderful sentiment from All Smiles.  The smile is from the Rainbow die-namic.

Today's line up is sure to make you ooooo and ahhhh (like you haven't been doing that all weekend, right ;) ). There are two sets being shared today.... Inspired by the Beach, and "Tag, You're It"
Let me first show you what I did with the beach set.  It's another beautiful set from the Inspired By line up. This is me this week....relaxing at the beach.

 Don't those chairs just look so inviting??? I'm showing off two of our new die-namics as well. A new rolled flower, this one's called Retro Flower.  I did it up with some MFT felt, a pearl and added a bit of lace. I also topped this off with the beautiful Fancy Flourish. I've loved the leafy flourish, so I'm sure this one will also become  a staple to my card making. I also couldn't resist adding in some waves.

Okay, so it's another stamp and die-namic combo.....and you guessed it, I'm head over heals for it! "tag you're it" is the MFT Tag die-namic I have been waiting for.  The stamp set to go along with it soooo super cute, with great polka dotted images and beautiful fonts.

I couldn't wait to make the adorable lady bug. It's a two step stamp process, but with the clear stamps it is so quick and easy to put together.  All the 2-step images in the set are so easy to make.

 I used the tag in a non-traditional way, turned it on it's side and added a upsy daisy die-namic flower to the top of the tag, wrapped up with some twine.  I also squeezed in a strip of the solid bracket border...can you tell I love this one?  I've been using it a lot.

Take a closer look at the new die-namics.  As usual, they are FAB!
