MFT and Patchwork Quilt

Well, I was tickled to finish last week's MFT Wed. Stamp Club challenge on time. I loved the patchwork quilt theme and went to work on a piece for this cute little card. Plus I had a Pure Innocence girl uninked-it's a shame, I know! Never fear, I showed her some love and colored her up for this card. I even added a fun handmade flower embellie! Limelight Project Parade-April

Fabric is all the rage these days. I love it, how could I not. I'm developing a love for it like designer paper. The patterns and colors are amazing. And now many popular designer paper companies are coming out with their own lines of fabric-ahhhh it's a crafter's dream. I was thrilled when Mandy sent us our April Project assignment-use Fabric. While I had many great ideas float through my head, there were many I couldn't tackle because I DON'T sew. Well, on fabric, anyway. Paper, yeah, I can do that. Last month I had so much fun making my own coordinating flower embellishments, I thought, a batch of cute butterflies and vintage fabric flowers (thanks to Julie Campbell's easy tutorial!) would be even better! Here's what I accomplished.

Crystal and I went on an Archiver's Shopping spree and we both scored some super cute fabric. Today I used some of the Rileyblakedesigns fabric that Archiver's sells. And, Ummmmm, now I know why I loved this-on their site it says it's from My Mind's Eye, Bloom and Grow line. I used my SU Beautiful Butterfly die and tied on some Basic Grey buttons with brown burlap string. The little flowers were finished off with a coordinating Kaiser rhinestone! And, now here's a card I made to show these fun butterflies in action. I sewed on some PinkPaisled dp (LOVE this print!!!) and it looked so good with my fabric. I also added a fabric Ric Rac boarder (thanks, Becky!) to the Could I Be Any Cuter? flower panel! Sentiment comes from the same set, I just inked up part of the Hello sentiment with a marker.


Lots of way to use fabric, just think of it like paper! I can't wait to see what the rest of the DT did with fabric. Come follow me to see!

TSG Monday Challenge

I did get back to sleep, but of course it was only for about 40 minutes, then the alarm went off and it was time to get the boys off to school. They have 35 days left of school this year-wow! Hoping to finish this post up and head out for a walk, our weather has been gorgeous! Love the Midwest this time of year-EVERYTHING is in Bloom!!! So I'm in a Spring time mood and made this sweet birthday card for my niece! Happy Birthday Kylie! This weeks challenge with There She Goes is a color challenge-lemon yellow, grass green, and aqua blue! How about this wonderful, birthday set, Make a Wish! There are so many images and sentiments, I've been having fun playing with it. Colored the cupcake with Copics and finished it off with a glittered candle and a fun punched flower/button embellishment!

H{ippity} Hop Just for Fun!

I rarely have trouble sleeping, but when I do, it SUCKS! I woke up in the middle of the night, all on my own, no kids waking me which was a blessing, BUT I couldn't go back to sleep. I tried reading, counting, our sound machine-nothing worked. So....here I am typing up my H{ippity} Hop post-might as well put my non-sleep time to good use, right???!!! So yesterday I got in some stamping time and I created a few things just for the fun of it. Boy, does that feel good. I have been working on 80 wedding invites for my sister and finally finished them last week, so to create for ME was very refreshing. I made this card using a version of last week's Mojo Monday sketch.

I used two {ippity} sets-What Matter's Most and Just Wanted to Say! You can purchase them HERE (or just email me, I'll send you an invoice).

I colored the butterflies with copics and added some stickles. Papers are Farm Fresh by Oct. Afternoon. Isn't it funny how our cards often start out totally different from where they end up? I meant for this to be a 4 1/4 square card, then cut it down and mounted it on a Spring Moss A2 card base. How often does that happen for you?

Toothless!

Two weeks ago I got a little girl time and scrapbook time out at our lake house. It was a fabulous 24 hrs, too quick, but sooo much fun! I was quite productive and love the pages I finished. I'll be posting them here and there between DT obligations.
This page was one of my absolutle FAVES I did. Papers are Jillibean Soup with a little bit of Jenni Bowlin, and layout is from one of my Scraps, ect. magazines.
LOVE that Limelight Papercrafts carries most of my FAVES! You can pick up some Jillibean Soup dp and Alphabean letters in the store! I think new Jillibean is coming soon! YEAH!

{ippity} and Unity and a GREAT BIG HIP HOP!!!!

YES!!! it's true, Angela has brought back the hip hop!!! We are all so excited, but I'm especially giddy because she has invited the {ippity} DT to join in on the fun!!!! The cool thing is, this is every week! You'll be seeing {ippity} and Unity together and there will also still be the Thursday {ippity} tutorial, too!
ARE YOU READY For Some FUN???? Today is going to be full of excitement. I decided to focus on a card for the {ippity} challenge this week-an Easter/Spring card. This adorable little bunny from Sweet Thoughts of Spring has finally made it's way into my heart.
I have to be honest, he kind of freaked me out when I first saw him. The slowly over the last few months as I viewed his cute little face being used over and over out in blog land, I decided he wasn't freaky, just ADORABLE! (kind of like those cabbage patch kids used to be...many people didn't care for them at first, but they fell in love with them any way. I never understood that, LOVED those dolls with a passion when I was little, but I get it now!) Okay, enough chit chat! You've got a lot of hopping to do.
Here's my sweet little bunny card with a bit of Kioshi dp (ahhhhh, is that stuff purty!).

Post no.1: Limelight, a Sketch, and Rhinestones!!!

We have another great Limelight sketch for you this week. I think there will be 3 this month, how cool is that. This week our sketch is focusing on ovals with Easter right around the corner and the product focus is rhinestones. Who doesn't love a little bling??!!! Here's what the sketch looks like.

and here is what I did with it. I've been loving my Green at Heart dp and accessories (the bloomers are so cute and EASY to use-peel and stick!), so I had to use the here today. I also used some of this gorgeous ribbon, the color is perfect with this paper pack.
