Stamp Something

Today is a busy day with posts! Thankfully I worked ahead on my projects and completed everything I'm sharing with you today on Wednesday. The snow day we had was just what I needed. Yes, I said snow day. Tuesday afternoon into the evening we got dumped on with another 8 inches of snow! This week at Stamp Something we are also showing our love with a Valentine's card. You can get more Valentiney (see another craft-made-up-word!LOL!) that pinks and reds. Since I was busy working on other projects this week, I sadly haven't had much time to use my NEW SU stuff.Yes, my catty order came on Wednesday. BUT I did manage to put something new on this card. Actually lots of new somethings ended up on this card. The dsp is from the Pink Flamingo paper pack (this stuff is sooooo pretty!), the button is from the Button Latte collection, and the two stamps are from SAB sets (Polka dot punches, and Yummy!). Oh, yeah, the hearts are punched out with the new Full Heart punch (I love the size of it!!!). So there you have it! Limelight Six Chicks Project Parade

Today is the sixth of Feb. and us chicks have been busy preparing our monthly project for you. This month we decided to share a little love with you and show you some Valentine gift ideas for a friend, with a coordinating card. I knew right away which stamp I want to work with, Love & Meaning. It's been on my desk since I received it last week and I can't stop using it. The sentiment from this stamp is just perfect and it really speaks to me. You know from my post yesterday that I have been trying hard to use what I have. I have quite a few of these clear polka dot frames I bought over a year ago that I have never used. I also have a friend, my BFF from college, who is finally getting married. She rekindled her college romance after 10 years and they will be married over Labor Day weekend next September. I wanted to send her a little something to show how happy I am for her. I created this pretty little magnet for her fridge by simply adding a magnetic strip to the back of the polka dot frame. I used the October Afternoon dp and the Love & Meaning stamps set to put it all together. It still needed a little something so I added a prima, stamped the word Love from the sentiment and punched it out with a 1 inch circle punch to create the center of the flower and topped it off with a Clear Droplet. Here is the card that coordinates with the magnetic frame. I pulled out my Scallop circle Bigz die to create the base for this card and cut another circle to fit inside the scallop with my colluzzle. I stamped the flower images three times-once on my white circle card base, and two more times on pattern paper, my new favorite, October Afternoon. This pattern is called Dirt Roads from the Detours line. I then pieced together different patterns for the hearts and circles. Ther rest was colored with my copics. I highlighted a few of the words. I finished the card off with some crystal effects to give it some dimension. Almost all of the products used you can find at Limelight papercrafts. For the Love of Papertrey!

I have a second post today that just couldn't wait. Papertrey Ink is holding their 2 yr. Anniversary celebration and boy are there some great prizes. Now until Feb.15 there are daily give aways. Today is a chance to win a $100 gift certificate plus the cutest little exclusive PTI bag. To enter you have to make some kind of little bag or purse. I decided to make another little bag-in-a-box. We made these at my stamp camp on Sunday and everyone just adored them. This time, I used some Pink Patterns dp from PTI along with the Beautiful Blooms and Paper Tray stamp sets. For an extra layer to my flower, I layered a Maya Road transparent flower behind my stamped image.

It's Six Chicks Sketch Challenge Time

Come on over to the Limelight Paper crafts to play along. This week our sketch is brought to you by the oh-so-talented Lee Murphy and the product focus is on bling baby! Not just any bling, but, pink bling! Pretty In Pink… The Pink Panther... Other than being movies, what else do they have in common? How about the color pink!?! This week at Limelight Papercrafts we are focusing on all things pink… with one exception… it must sparkle, shimmer or shine! We want to see your pink bling!!! Stickles, Shimmerz, Kaisercraft Rhinestones, sparkle fibers… You name it, Limelight carries it and we want you to use it! Don’t have any that we carry? Use the bling you have, just make sure it’s pink! We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Here's what I did. I'll add another picture below so you see my pink bling. When I sat down to work on this card I found out I had no pink bing! Limelight does, so be sure to check it out. I had to get creative. I used shimmerz on all the pink polka dot paper (that dp is by October Afternoon. I'm in love, let me tell ya!) and on the hearts of Nigel's (he's the cute little owl stamp by Odd Bird Planet)belly. I also used my Basic Grey Bittersweet brads and glitzed (I love how we crafters come up with some of the coolest words, lol!) them up with my irridescent ice embossing powder. See, I was being good and used what I had. I pulled out my Janome sew mini and threaded up my white bobbin and got some stitching done on my card. The sentiment is from the beautiful stamp, Love & Meaning by unity (stop by on the 6th to see my project made with that one!). I just inked up the script Love with a marker and stamped it on my oval (actually I always stamp first then punch! it's much easier this way). Wanna play along for a chance to win a prize? My Space!

I took these pictures of my craft space the other week after my parents left. I am fortunate to have a craft room, but it also acts as our spare bedroom so I have to clean the room up when we have guests come to visit. I used to have a corner in our dining room, but three years ago when we had our basement finished, I had to have a room. I am not good about cleaning up after myself when I'm done with a project so I needed a door to close so I don't have to look at the mess. LOL! So here is the overview of my room. I work at the desk on the right and I have another desk on the left that holds an old computer (no internet access to this one), my Big Shot, and my Sewing Machine. Everything else is in the closet.
Here is a straight on view of my desk. All my large SU punches are mounted on the wall. I love having them right in front of me. I am going to add some shelves above those one of these days so I can clear off my desk even more. In my attempt to re-organize and add more storage space, I bought a few of those white scrapbook cubes after Christmas . I want three more and then I think my little unit will be complete. The drawers hold all my tools and unmounted non-SU stamps. You can see to the left of that is my ink storage unit. It is all cardboard, it has held up well over the past 6 years. It holds 64 ink pads. It sits on top of a Sterillite drawer unit (can you believe at one time I fit all my stamping and scrapbook supplies in those three drawers, hehehehe!) More punches, re-inkers, wheels, and alterable items are stored in there now. Next is my Cropper Hopper paper trolley. This was one of my first splurges when I became a demo and I really love how all my SU paper is there all together. The top is all 8 1/2 x 11 and the bottom holds all my 12x12 solid and designer paper. As you can see, I'm going to have to come up with more paper storage since these paper holders are filled to the max!Finally, a shot (a not so good one) of all my SU stamps. They fill the wire racks we had put into this closet. The rest of the room is crammed with stuff too, I'm not kidding. I really am busting at the seams. I am slowly weeding out lots of paper and business supplies that are outdated, but I hate to organize so I keep putting it off. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look into my little creative space! Unity Kit of the Month

Want a great deal on stamps? Then you must check out the Kit of the Month by Unity stamps. I have never been a big fan of monthly kit clubs, but once I kept seeing the beautiful images people were using from Unity I was intrigued. When I found out I could only get them by signing up for the monthly kit, I was bummed. It took me a few months of looking and almost hitting the join button before I was sucked in completely. I joined in October and each month gets better and better. You get a ton of stamps for $24.99. The images are a great size and all are unmounted red rubber stamps to use with your acrylic blocks (or the handles Unity sells). I just saw the Feb. KOTM and OMG! I think it might be my favorite so far. Angela has it up on her blog. I made these two cards for last week's hip hop challenges and they both use images from the Jan. KOTM called Love, ect.

Yes, I know, this one is a little bright an funky. Isn't that peacock just adorable? The challenge called for Bold and Bright. The next card is a little more tame. We were to use something gritty on our card. I added glitter to a piece of sticky strip. I love the contrast of the bright pink with the natural tones of the chocolate and kraft. Guess What Time It Is?

Yeah!!! It's SAB time!!! I love Sale-a-Bration time with Stampin' Up! New to this promotion by SU!? I love this next card because it shows how you can get more milage out of your snowflakes (well at least from the set, Snowburst). I CASED this one from the catty (pg. 40).

This last card is the kid card we did. I just love these little people. All in the Family is such a great set! I also CASED this one from the catty (pg.48). I set out my Pun Fun set and gave the girls the option to change up the image if they wanted to. They actually embraced this idea and made each of their 3 cards of this design a little different. And finally our last project uses the beautiful designer paper and ribbon available as a SAB choices. It matches the Polka Dot Punches stamp set. You get 4 sheets of each of the 4 designs. That's A LOT of paper!!!
