MFTScrap6- {Cute}

Welcome to our monthly edition of the MFT Scrap Sketch Challenge.  I sure had fun with this one. But, then how can I not, working with such a cute picture.  I used a TON of MFT Die-namics. I just couldn't stop. hehehe!

I am a suck for circles and fishtail flags, so this sketch has become a FAVE of mine. I used an Instagram picture of our cutie-pie puppy, Bosco. I think he was about 13 weeks old. He learned very quickly that the dishwasher full of dirty dishes was an instant snack. He'd climb right up and lick away. He still does this, but now he is big enough to stand on the floor, thankgoodness! He can be sound asleep in the other room and as soon as he hears the dishes clank, he's right there are my side.

The first things I cut were my circles and Fishtail Flag banners using my most used Die-namics-Cirlce Stax 1 & 2 and Fishtail Flags Stax and Fishtail Flags Layers stax Die-namics. The designer paper is from the Studio Calico pack-Here + There.

I used MFT Black Licorice cs for my middle layer. Yep, I used the 81/2 x 11 sheet of cs, and cut it down to 3x11. This is a 12x12 layout, so you are probably wondering how I got my black strip to stretch all the way across. Simply give it a slice down the middle (or where ever you know, you have an element that can cover up the gap. I did it towards the middle, knowing my photo was large enough to hide the gap. I love little tricks like this with scrapbooking.

Let me point out all the cuteness I added to this layout. First up is the title. I used the Typewriter Alphabet stamp set to spell out the words, "good thing he's" with Kraft ink on Whip cream cs.  Then I added the graph paper grid over top of it with some Sno Cone ink. The graph is included in the Journal it-Graph Paper Notes stamp set. I then sponged all the edges with kraft ink (loooove distressing my edges with this fabulous ink).

I then cut out the word, Cute, from Sour Apple cs with the Highrise Uppercase Alphabet Die-namics. A sweet little paw print was added to fill some space on that fishtail flag. Love those little Pet Charm Die-namics.

Off to the left of my title is another fun double circle element. I first cut out a  Heart Doily Die-namics and then decided I only wanted to use the inner circle with those punched out circles. So I found a Circle Stax Die that fit it just right and cut off the outer hearts and scallops. Fun, huh?

 Then I decided I wanted to add a Pie Chart....it was a circle, so it fit right in with the sketch. Plus it allowed me to add in a bit more pattern paper pieces. I topped that with a Kraft Heart Stax (crimped up with my paper crimper) and I stamped the word, "cute" in Tangerine Tango Ink. I stamped the 100% in Sour Apple Ink and used the Accent it-Labels and Tabs Die-namics to cut the circle out.  That pup is 100% cute.  A sweet dog bone charm tied up with some twine finished it off.

Moving up to  the other large circle element of the sketch, I decided to cut a skinny, Steel Grey circle border and then added a pattern paper circle cut with a smaller circle Die-namics.
 I used the sweet sentiment from Puppy Girl to add to this Fishtail Flag.  The trio of hearts were punched out from the Heart Doily Die-namics I used below.

After I had the main elements of the sketch covered, I decided to add a few more bells and whistles. I was inspired by the puppy print of the paper I used to add in a few Speech Bubbles. I love that MFT has a few different sizes, so I tucked in a Chat Bubble (made a bit smaller with my Die shortening trick. You can see how I do this from my tutorial in my side bar. Check it out) and a few Say What Die-namics. I also used the coordinating Say What Stamp Sentiments set to add a few quotes that I heard from people when I posted this picture on Facebook a few months ago.

And just because I arrows are so trending right now and I love this set, I added a few stamps and sentiment from the Right This Way stamp set

Here is one more look at all the elements together.
