Mixed Media Backgrounds

My fellow {ippity} DT sister, Angie is the Queen of mixed media.  She does wonders with paint, ink, and name it she'll work with it. Lesley Langdon also does wonders with different materials and then there's Arlene....beautiful creation after creation.  My list could go on, but I think you get my point.

I was inspired and decided to give it a go.  I pulled out some white acrylic paint, dyed it with some re-inks and painted a pretty background to work with. I did two, same technique, similar colors, but two different cards.

First one is an MFT creation.  It's so clean and simple and I LOVE how it turned out. Must be the beautiful new set, Inspired by Spring.  Did you order it?
I'm a self-proclaimed font junkie.....I'm a sucker for a pretty, scripty sentiment  AND this one is at the top of my list (for now, lol!).
Then I pulled out some {ippity} and meant to create another CAS card (I was working from THIS sketch from the  clean & simple blog) but as you can strayed FAR from CAS.   Lots of layers and texture added to this.
There's a How-To tutorial over on the ippity blog for this one. Check it out!
Enjoy the day!

  1. Stunning cards my dear! I love your paint colors and technique. You inspire me. :)

  2. Lisa, the new MFT stamps should be called "Inspired by Lisa" because your card totally inspired me! I needed just one more easy idea for an upcoming class, and that card sealed it for me! Thanks for sharing! (And the Unity card is fab, too! Love the scrappy-ness of it!)

  3. LOVE the paint-what gorgeous cards!! can't wait to check out you tutorial!!

  5. looks like you had fun with these and they are both gorgeous!

  6. How pretty Lisa I love it all my friend!

  7. Ok, if I tried to do this, it would look like my 3 year old niece did it but yours, OMG, perfect!! That idea rocks!

  8. WOW! These are amazing! Love them, wtg with the mixed media-ness!

  9. OH GOOOONDESS me!! I thought that second card was gorgeous on the Ippity blog--but that top card is super gorgeous too! I LOOOOOOOOOVE the stamping over the paint! FAB JOB!
