Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

 Sooooo excited about this blog hop. Amy Tsuruta has to be on e of the most dedicated bloggers and commenters out there. That girls rocks! She has organized another FUN blogging event, it's the Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

I pulled out one of my favorite coffee set, Be a Barista from Reverse Confetti (they are one of the amazing and generous sponors for this hop! I'll tell you a bit more about that in a bit). 

I used the largest Circle 'n Scallops die to cut out my circle and then stamped some Whole Lotta Dots behind it. I used the new gorgeous colors from MFT. Blueberry, Wild Wisteria, and Island teal....yum! I stamped my sentiment onto a Tag Me banner pieces,tucked in some thread and added some enamel dots and clear rhinestones (another inspiration from Jodi Collins).  I colored the mug up with my copics and cut it out. It was the prefect accent for my coffee loving card!

MFTWSC205-Beary Birthday

It has been mooooonths since I have played along with the MFTWSC challenge. I think it's been that long since I even touched any of my MFT stamps or dies. That changed yesterday. I ordered the new colors......OMG!!! they are gorgeous and so fun and the perfect way to freshen up any stamps! I did sneak in a new set, too. I couldn't help myself, I happen to love polar bears. I used Cold Day on today's card. 

You'll also see I used Blueprints 1, Blueprints 2, and Blueprints 3 to add lots of pretty layers and accents. I colored the bear up with my copics. 

The color combo I used today are the new Blueberry Prestige, Tropical teal, and Wild Wisteria. The Blueberry is my amazing, my favorite of all the new colors. I also purchased the Premium dye inks in all 6 new colors. Check out all the new colors HERE.

Reverse Confetti Dec. Blog Hop! {pretty packages}

Hello and happy holidays!! We are one week into December and I can feel the crunch of the holidays fast approaching. It's December 8......and 8 is GREAT!!! It's time for an Reverse Confetti blog Hop!Today the Confetti Crew is here to give you some great ideas to put your RC goodies to use so you can have lots of pretty wrappings for all your holiday gift giving.

I love giving gift cards. I think they are the perfect gift for anyone.  It's always fun to find a festive way to give them. Today I hope  you'll be inspired to make these easy little felt gift card pockets. I used a trio of RC Confetti Cut dies to make them and lots of felt. I love the homemade touch the felt gives to these. 

This first one uses the Love Notes scalloped rectangle, layered with the Class Act rounded rectangle. I added stitching to the red felt pieces BEFORE I adhered it to the scalloped Love Note piece.  

How about a quick How-to! This can totally be a NO SEW project, but I think the stitching adds the perfect handmade touch. 

1. Die cut all your pieces. Here I cut 2 of the Love Note scalloped piece from sno cone felt and      1 Class Act rounded rectangel from Wild Cherry felt. 

2. Layer the red rectangle on top of 1 of the scalloped die cut pieces and run a zig zag stitche around the red felt piece. 

I like to use Fabric Fusion to hold my layers together. I use it sparingly so I don't get any leaking through the felt. Small dots is all you need. 

3.  Add small dots to the backside of each of the scallops along the bottom and up the sides of the Love Note  cut piece. Leave the top open so you can slide your gift card in. Place the second piece of felt on top, lining up the scallops. Set aside to dry. 

4.  Embellish as you see fit. I used the sweet little holly leaves from North Pole Wishes to dress up the corner of my pocket. I tied on some red twine and gave it a little gingham ribbon tab. 

Adding a few little accents can really dress this up. I cut the "for you" from Tag Me, Too. The little holly leaves are from the North Pole Wishes die set. I tucked in a little gingham ribbon tab and tied on some red twine. A trio of sequins add a touch of sparkle.

I didn't stop there. Since I had out the Tag Me, too die out, I thought THAT would make a fun pocket, too. ***IMPORTANT TIP*** always check to make sure your gift card will FIT in the sized die you pick. You can check this by simply placing the card on top of the die. If it doesn't hang over the edge, you are good to go. Always make sure you have a little extra room around the edges so you can adhere the pieces together. 

I used non-traditional holiday colors on this one. I looooove the soft pretty feel of the purple with the cream snowflakes. The Let it Snow confetti cut was a perfect addition to dress up this tag pocket. I used archival black ink to the stamp the Seasonal Sentiments greeting right on the felt. Again, I added stitching BEFORE I attached the layers together. 

I tied on the ribbon and silver twine to finish this one off. Be sure to ONLY tie the ribbon accents onto the front Tag Me, Too piece so you can still slide in your gift card. 

While I had all my RC dies out, I started thinking about 1 more pocket to take. The largest scalloped circle from Circles 'n Scallops jumped out at me. I tested the size of my gift card and it fit! So I went with it. I was a chicken to stitch around the circle, so this one IS a NO SEW pocket. I cut two of the Circle 'n Scallops from kraft felt and adhered them together, being careful to only add the Fabric Fusion adhesive to the bottom 3/4 of the circle. 

I love the Brach Out Tree. It's sooooo sweet all layered up in the felt. Yep, more sequins! I love how the y look like colored lights on the tree. I used a sentiment from Tinsel 'n Trim stamped on the felt with archinval ink. I added some bits of twine to "ground" the words. Since I hadn't sewed on this one, it felt like it needed something.

Lil' Inker Designs December Release

Today I used the super cool Awesome Word die. It is just what it says....awesome! I paired it with the Anywhere Tags2 die set. Yay for stacking, stitched tags!!

The stamped sentiment is from the coordinating stamps called Hello, Awesome! Yeah, it's awesome, too!  I tucked in a Stitched Star and sequins to glam it up. 

On my next card today, I was inspired  by a card my friend Jodi Collins made. love the colors and the little accents she used. I created a fun background from my tag with the Long & Skinny Rectangles. Such a cool die set.....you want it, trust me! 

I cut the cute yellow ampersand from All about Ampersand die and stamped the words from the coordinating All about Ampersand stamp set and cut them out. It's all mounted up on an Anywhere Tag 2 die.
