Sweet Sunday Sketch no. 248 {shine like a diamond}

It's still Lil' Inker Designs Release time and this is my second post for today. Be sure to scroll down to see my other card using MORE LID new release goodies.

It's Sunday so this card is showing off the new sketch from Karen and the Sweet Sunday Sketch for the week. It was a great layout to show off the new Long & Skinny Rectangles dies LID just released.

I used a soft and pretty neutral color combo (grout grey and insulation pink) to really make my glittery Girls Best Friend Diamond die to POP! I stamped the sentiment onto a Stitched Mats-square....all the stitching makes me smile.

Here is the sketch.

 You'll notice I stamped 2 of the diamonds and used the die to make the middle square stand out. The stamps are new, too. It's a beautiful set called Girl's Best Friend

I hope you will join in on all the fun this week.  Please hop on over to see what the Sweet Sunday Stampers have created this weekend:

 I used the beautiful Seasonal Stars cut from silver glimmer paper to help create the festive feeling. I scattered some sequins to pump up the glam factor!

I love that the stamp set has all occasions covered.  Of course I used the Merry and Bright, it was perfect for my card.

Lil' Inker Design Decemeber Release

Super excited to be here today with the first day of the Lil' Inker Design December Release. We have 3 fun filled days planned for you, showing off all the fabulous new products you can order NOW!!! It's a gorgeous assortment of stamps and dies.....totally swoon worthy!
I hope you came from  Lea Lawson's blog. If not, you'll want to pop on over to the LID Blog to start the hop and leave comments along the way. You'll have a chance to win one of 3 LID gift certificates! yay!

So if you saw Laura's video sneak peek last week then you already have an idea of how awesome this new product is. It's a set of Long & Skinny Rectangles. So easy and so well designed and it makes creating stripes so much fun! I used the current Color Throwdown challenge for the inspiration on my card.

I paired those stripes up with the gorgeous new Girl's Best Friend stamp set and the awesome coordinating Girl's Best Friend Diamond die. I cut it from silver cardstock. I decided to spell out the word "gem" with another new alphabet die, Alphabet Gems. I just love how these products work together.

I made another card with the uber cool cover up die called Faceted! It's soooo cool! There is a hidden heart in all those die cuts.

I highlighted it with some insulation pink and wild cherry cardstock. I added a sentiment stamped on vellum cut with the Long & Skinny Rectangles

Here is a closer look at the new products I used on today's cards.
You can shop for all of these NOW!

I'll send you on your way now......Please continue to hop with Mary Dawn
Thanks so much for visiting. I'll see you back here tomorrow with more LID release goodies!

A Fond Farewell to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine

What a beautiful tribute to a fabulous magazine. I know you have read it over and over today and ever since the announcement was made last month, but I, too was shocked to hear that Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine will be closing it's doors. I feel like it was THE go-to crafting magazine.  I know I felt like a ROCKSTAR to have made it into print a few times. I seriously felt like I made it BIG Time! So thank-you PC & S for those feelings and for making a dream come true for this girl.

This is a HUGE hop, so I'll keep this short and sweet. I hope you arrived from the Altenew Blog

My card today is to say thank-you for all the years of hard work by the staff. I used lots of Reverse Confetti products today. The sketch is the current Sweet Sunday Sketch. I flipped it on my sample card on Sunday, so today I wanted to try it the way it was written.

I layered up some pretty panels-diagonal stripes and the solid Class Act rounded rectangle and topped it with the largest Circle 'n Scallops solid circle. The sentiment is from Forever Fall.  The heart is from Love note

The fishtail flag piece is from Tag Me Confetti cut. I snipped off the left edge and also cut the strip in half, hiding the seam behind the front panels and allowing me to give it the allusion that it is a longer piece. It's an easy tip, for extending any die cut piece.

Thanks for stopping by! I wish all the folks at Paper Crafts & Scrapbook Magazine all the best.  Off you go to Alice Golden's Blog. Happy hopping!

Curtain Call Clearly Christmas {peace & joy}

Super excited about this next challenge with The Curtain Call. We are so fortunate to get to work with an amazing stamp company and the inspiration photo is gorgeous! I can't wait to see what you all do with it.

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

photo source: bhg.com

We have a new sponsor, Winnie&Walter, for the Curtain Call Inspiration: Clearly Christmas!  A randomly selected participant in the Clearly Christmas challenge will receive a $30 Winnie&Walter shopping code, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

I have been drooling over these Winnie & Walter stamps for a year now. I am so happy I was able to order the Big, the Bold & the Merry stamp set. It's soooo gorgeous!

I accented the card with a pretty Reverse Confetti Let it Snow snowflake and my  newest favorite Lil'  Inker Designs Stitched Mats-rounded rectangles. Some silver twine and sequins finish off the look I was going for.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Sweet Sunday Sketch 247 {comfort and joy}

Welcome to another great sketch by Karen for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I pulled out my Reverse Confetti stamps and dies to make this week's sample.

The sentiment is from Seasonal Sentiments and I used a two tone inking technique (starting with the lighter ink and then rocking the bottom half of the stamp with the darker blue second). I cut the Let It Snow snowflake from vellum and gave it a good coating of rock candy distress glitter.

Here this week's sketch. I flipped it and think it looks great!

Please stop by and see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Stampers have created for you this week:

Head on over to Karen's Blog for all the challenge details.
