Cardabilities#98 {rainbows}

I had some fun with this card. I love when I get a chance to stamp for the love of it. I actually had a lot of inspiration going into the card. First off, I was inspired by Stacey to use my Gelatos.  You can see her card here. Gosh, the background is gorgeous.

Now,  I only have 4 colors of Gelatos, and I think I need to change that soon.  I used 3 of them here. I started with a piece of kraft cs and gave it a quick wash of white gesso. After that dried, I colored on my three colors of Gelatos, and then misted with water. I used my fingers to blend them.  I used the Stitched Mats-rectangle die from Lil' Inker Designs to cut my base to build the rest of the elements on this card.

I was also inspired by the current Cardabilities #98 challenge. I loved all the little bits and pieces the sketch called for. I used a small detailed circle die from Delicate Doliy Die-namics and all the rest of my die cut pieces are from Reverse Confetti (all links listed below). I stamped the sentiment from Dream in Color  in Sweet Tooth Pigment ink and then covered it with white embossing powder. I love how the white just pops against the fun, summery colors.

Here is the sketch I used. I'm linking up on the Cardabilities Blog

I'm also playing along with this week's Simon Says Stamp Wed. Challenge-Anything Goes. Easy Peasy! Thanks for stopping by.

Curtain Call-Pretty in Pink Challenge

**please scroll down for my RC SFYTT card**

Welcome friends, and hellllllo May! I think my boys are in count down mode. Only a month left of school and a calendar chuck full of activities. This month will fly. BUT before it does, let's slow things down around here and enjoy the next round of Curtain Call Challenge

I know you'll be happy with this one. I was over the moon excited to see this sponsor in the line up.

We have a fabulous new sponsor, Pretty Pink Posh, for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Pink & Pretty!  The LEAD of this challenge will receive a gift certificate to the Pretty Pink Posh Shop!

I mixed and matched some of my favorite products from a few different companies. Those Pretty Pink Posh sequins look great with everything! I'll have links listed below. I accented my die cuts with the lovely sequins from the PPP shoppe

There are so many beautiful colors to choose from. Here I used Fresh mint on the leaves, Sand (a MUST have. They look great with gold and lots of neutrals.) and then I scattered a few Pink Peonies across the card front.

There is also a fabulous selection of beautiful ribbons in the store. I used some Champaigne Twill ribbon and a bit of twine to tie it all up. Here is another look at my full card. I love those stitched dies from Lil' Inker Designs. The sentiment and polka dots are from Reverse Confetti, and the flower and leaves are from MFT. ( all links listed below).

Please join us in welcoming Leigh Penner from To the Full as our Guest Designer for the Pink & Pretty challenge.

Reverser Confetti May SFYTT {Have a Sweet Day} & Catered Crop

Hello and welcome back. It's a busy week here on the Blog and I love that. I hope you do, too. It's a two post Wednesday, so be sure to check back a little later to see my Curtain Call Challenge card.
Yesterday I showed you a great masculine card in a nautical theme for dad using Reverse Confetti products. Well, Mother's Day is right around the corner so I only thought it was fair to make a card for mom, too. I used this month's Reverse Confetti SFYTT for the layout. Pretty papers, and fabulous dies and stamps made this one come together quick.

I used the Class Act Confetti Cut rectangle for my sentiment panel. Phew....this  one took 6, maybe 8 tries to get it right. I ended up using the Sweet Thing stamp set for my sentiment and added a darling small scalloped edges thanks to the Double Scallop Border Confetti cut.

Never under estimate a great alphabet set. Lighthearted Letters was perfect to make this customized flag (Tag Me), adding great personalization the card. I added one more touch of pretty with a flower die cut from the Petals 'n Posies Confetti Cut set.

The perfect flower center....why a button and twine combo, of course. Need more button inspiration??? Check out the current Catered Crop Challenge.....Buttoned Up. I went simple with mine, but there are some other stunners out there. Oh, and if you don't have time to make a card, why don't you show us your button stash and how you store them.

It's a fun twist on this week's challenge.
Hopefully you like playing with buttons as much as I do, because that’s what we’re doing with this challenge – our annual button challenge. Just add a button or more to your project and come join the party. Or, alternatively, show us how you store and organize your buttons – that’s always fun, too.
  • Include a link to us at Catered Crop or add our button, which you can grab on our sidebar or at our {button gallery}.
  • Link up and link often, but be sure you link up by 8:00 PM EST on Saturday, May 10.
  • Keep the party hopping by visiting the other players and leaving comments.
  • Check back with us on May 11 to see if you’ve won an opportunity to be a guest designer.

Here is the sketch for you to try:
