MFT Teasers Begin {Howdy!}

Can I get a big YEEEHAW!!!! The MFT October release is right around the corner. Thanks so much for stopping by! We are kicking things off with a little western theme. So kick up your heels and have some fun with me today (and the rest of the DT). 

 Here are the details about the upcoming release:

Two amazing new sets by Lisa Johnson are debuting today: Howdy; Western Backgrounds.  Let's dig in. 

I've used a little bit of both sets on both of my cards for today. I love how they work so well together.

 I created a custom wood grain pattern on my background here (Whip Cream cs with Crumb Cake ink)  with the new WESTERN BACKGROUNDS stamp set. You get 3 amazing patterns in this stamp set. Nice, long strips of the designs, making for quick and easy coverage. 


Check out that gorgeous new deep, dark blue cardstock....it's the new color that's being released this month. It's called Nightsthift Blue and you'll be able to coordinate all your Replenishements in this color. Here's what you can pop into your cart of release night:

Now here's a closer look at some of the details on my card. I used a Deconstructed Sketch from the other week. Love those! and added lots of distressing to all of my edges. 

I just love this sign Die-namics from the HOWDY FRAMES DIE-NAMICS. I stamped my sentiment in SU!'s new Midnight Muse ink (it's a nice match to this new MFT color) on to kraft cs.  I added few pretty flourishes from the HOWDY STAMP SET and tied it on with some Hemp Twine. 


Here's a look at the newest border-WESTERN STARS BORDER DUO Die-namics. I love it when you get a two for one! These borders can be used separately, or together like I did here. I also love that you get teeny little stars that pop out when you cut the star border. No need to let those go to waste.  I tucked them into the corners of my green flower panel. 

You also can get a better look at the wood grain background in this photo, too. 

I have to admit it...I LOOOVE this next card. It turned out better than I envisioned when I put it together. It's a fun cowgirly, clean and simple card. I layered on lots of stamps and tucked in a few  Die-namics as well, on Kraft and Whip Cream cs. 


 How cute is that cow print background??? It is one of the three stamps included with the new WESTERN BACKGROUNDS. I added some of the sentiments to bits and pieces of the coordinating HOWDY FRAMES DIE-NAMICS.  

I added an Nightshift Blue button and hemp twine to the custom tab I created. 


And here you can see I added a bit of glitter to the stars (again, cut out from the WESTERN STARS BORDER DUO). Since it is a girly card, I couldn't help but glam it up a bit! 

These stamps and coordinating Die-namcis give you endless possibilities for the Western lover in all of us!

Team Awesome! {mojo monday}

I look forward to my Monday stampy time. With hubby's new job, back in June, he stopped working weekends which has been wonderful, but that means I rarely get to create on the weekends. I look forward to shipping the boys off to school and having a few hours to myself. 

 One of the first things I've found myself doing is the Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. I used this week's sketch to make my hubby's birthday card. Check out the Sketch HERE. 

 I followed the sketch exactly, replacing the flower element for stars.  I used both Stacking Stars Die-namics and the Star STAX Die-namics to find just the right size. 
Papers are Clippings by Basic Grey. I added some distressing to the edges as well as some distress ink. Card stock is all from MFT-Sweet tooth, Kraft, and Black Licorice. 

 The large circles were cut with the CIRCLE STAX 1 & 2 Die-namics. I was going to replace the circle element with the Jeresey Die-namics, but opted to keep the circles and just used the sentiment from the set. 

 My all time favorite FISHTAIL FLAGS STAX  were used for all the banner pieces. Some twine and a Black Licorice button finished the outside. 

I decided I needed to finish off the inside to match.  All of the same Die-namics were repeated on the inside, and the Happy Birthday is from the BIG GREETINGS stamp set. 

We'll be celebrating on Thursday with some presents and some cookie cake! We love our cookie cakes around here :)

C84FN-World Card Making day!

It would be a shame if I had not posted something today. Sadly, I won't be crafting today. It's the weekend and I am a dedicated soccer mom. With three boys playing, two of them for select soccer clubs, my weekends are spent on the sidelines cheering my little guys on! Although, I am sneaking in a little coloring between games today, so I can be ahead of the game come Monday....shhhhh, don't tell anyone. 
There is sooo much going on today for this special day dedicated to us card makers. If you have time to stamp, you won't need to look far for inspiration. 

All of us here at My Favorite Things wish you a Happy World Card Making Day! Maybe your personal style includes coloring with markers, or possibly you enjoy some fresh and clean stamping. Maybe you simply like creating custom elements with our Die-namics dies. Whatever it is that you like to do, we only hope that you get a chance to create something special today!

I pulled out a few Die-namics and stamps that I hadn't used in a while and paired them up with this week's C84FN color challenge-light blue, yellow, and green. 


I know, I know....I should be making fall cards, but with these colors I couldn't resist a sweet, Spring setting!


I created some rolling hills and added some stitching to them. I cut a pretty tree with the TEAR DROP TREE DIE-NAMICS. Check out the embossing detail on the tree trunk....LOVE that! ♥



 The edges were touched with some antique linen distress ink. I added a PINKING EDGE topper, to my panel and accented the sentiment, from The Great Outdoors Stamp set,  with a sweet, soft Banana Split felt heart (Notched Tag Die-namics) and GumDrop Green button. 

I used all MFT card stock on this beauty-Kraft, Sno Cone, Gumdrop Green, Banana Split, and Sweet Tooth. You should try them if you haven't. You can see the links below. Designer paper is Oct. Afternoon-Woodland Park.
