eeeeee! Yes, that's me squealing with delight. I was soooo very happy to recieve my cute little Scor-Buddy. I did not own one until now and I do have to say I am in looove! It's so fun to score and so easy to use. AND it comes with this cute little pouch to hold it in. Thanks Unity and Score-Pal.
I also feel blessed to get to join in on this blog hop!
So fun to create something (two somethings) with 2 great products.
I've got a quick photo tutorial, I hope you'll hang with me for a bit.
I decided to make some rosettes. I love my dies, you all know that, but with the Score-Pal, these sweet little rosettes are just as easy to create.
Here's my card. I inked up the gorgeous Samantha Walker co-brand by Unity Stamp Co., Orchard Harvest.
Here's all you need to make quick and easy rosettes:
- Scor-Pal
- designer paper (2 strips 1 in. x 6 in.)
- favorite Unity stamps
Cut 2 strips of designer paper (here I used Mischievous by MME)
Decide how big you want to make your pleats. Here I scored every quarter inch.
Accordian fold both strips.
Using the 1/4 inch scor-tape
(a perfect fit! and quick to use because it tears easily.
No sciccors are needed),
add a strip to the last two folds of both ends of 1 of the strips.
Remove the backing and attach both ends of the the two strips together, matching up the pleats,
to create a large accordian ring.
Use your fingers to bring the center together.
Hold in place and add a red-line cirlce Jody Booster.
I put one on both the front and back to assure this will hold.
Attach it to your project for a great 3-D embelilshment.
Here's a close up of how I used this easy Rosette.
I added a 1 3/8 circle to the top along with a few stamped leaves and a button.
I also have to note how great the directions are that come with the Scor-Pal.
It is coded for easy scoring for a lot of different card sizes and types.
I did use this to get the perfect fold of my card base.
Once I had this card done. I wasn't done scoring. I wanted to do more.
I expanded on the accordian fold and decided to make a votive candle cover
(saw this in my Martha Stewart magazine over the summer).
So here's how I did this.
I love that you can make these for ANY occasion or holiday.
All you need is vellum, stamps and your Scor-Pal.
First measure your candle height. You'll want to cut your vellum just shy of the full height
(so the flame can't reach your paper).
I went with 3 inches.
dontcha love my ruler....snagged it from the boys tool box.
Next, stamp your vellum.
Again, I used the Samantha Walker co-brand, Orchard Harvest.
This time, I scored every 1/2 inch, since my paper was wider.
Fold it, again, accordian style and add Scor-tape just like the smaller rosettes.
This time instead of pinching together the ends and adding a sticky dot,
just slide it over top of your votive candle.
Pretty cute and easy, huh?!!
I love it.
Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget to leave comments along the way.
The more comments, the better your chances of winning!
Off you go.....
