Color Throwdown 528/ Herd It's Your Birthday

Hello there! It's Lynn is our hostess for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #528!  She found this cookie jar image online and loved the colors it was painted with it’s shades of yellows, browns and aqua and I thought they would be fun cheerful colors to create with.

I hope you'll like creating with the colors AquaSaffronBrown and Yellow for this week's challenge and I hope they inspire you to create something special. We are using generic colors, so as long as you use the color values shown, you are all set! As always, please feel free to incorporate any neutrals that you need in your design as well!

If you upload to a public gallery, please use the keyword CTD528, and please use #ctd528 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites. Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of the post, please link to your specific post, not a generic link to your blog. All of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, please check them out if you are in doubt! One last detail to remember, no digital designs - only digital images that are printed off and colored will be allowed. Totally digital designs will be removed from the link up.

I started with one of my all time favorite techniques today. I Love ink smooshing on a die cut background. Lil' Inker Designs has some of the best! Today I used the Quilted Stitched All Hearts. You can see all the cover plates HERE! I used Broken China Distress ink at the top and tea dye ink along the bottom to create the feel of the sky and some ground.

I then colored up some of the farm cuties from Farm Love in the Challenge Colors.  It's is a great all-occasion stamp set. And check out the lamb.....his arms have cut marks so he can hold all the things! I told you yesterday how much that makes me giddy! So get the Farm Love Dies, too.

Check out the beautiful creations from the team this week! They are sure to inspire you, they always inspire me!! Have fun creating, we cannot wait to see what you come up with using these colors!

Reverse Confetti/ Warm Hugs

I just can't get enough of this bear. Big Bear just melts my heart and I love that the coordinating die Big Bear Confetti Cuts, already has the cut marks for his hands. I made this card just because I wanted to have him hold another element from the set.

I also wanted to send you all some warm hugs. It's Freeeezing here in Ohio and only going to get colder. Like REALLY FREEZING.....temps dipping way below zero with wind chill. I know there are many other parts of the country that are even colder.

I went to my go-to card layout. Some pattern paper, a cool tag, and a colored image with a sentiment. I used the From Cupid papers and my favorite Grid Stitch Tag Confetti Cuts

The sentiment was stamped on Flamingo card stock that I cut with the Clear Treat Box Confetti Cuts. I tied the finished tag on with some red twine.

 Stay warm friends!

Picket Fence Studios/ Making My Own Sunshine

The weather. Ugh. It's COLD and sooo, so grey and dreary most days here in the Midwest. Spring feels sooooo far away. So today I focused on the sun and made my own sunshine thanks to the new Sunshine Stencils from Picket Fence Studios.

My first card shows another new set, called Stand In the Sunshine. Those critters are darling and I have actually had them colored up for a few weeks now. I just finally got them onto the card I have had finished in my head since I received my DT package from Nicole. I inked the image in Intense Black ink and then colored the cuties with Copics. I then used the matching die, Stand in the Sunshine Die, to cut out the image.

I then got busy with Distress Oxide inks with the Life Changing Blender Brushes and the Sunburst Stencil. Those brushes make ink blending so so easy.

I used the other sun stencil, Sunbeam, for this birthday card. I love this silhouette male image. It's from the My Man, My Friend stamp set. It's a must have for masculine cards.

I masked off the word "dude" from the sentiment and only stamped the "happy birthday" part of the image in versamark so I could heat emboss with white embossing powder.

  Thanks so stopping by!

January is coming to a close and that means there is just a little more time to get in your cards for the Stock Your Stash Challenge over on the RC Blog. This month's challenge theme is LOVE

I used the current Freshly Made Sketch on my card and put the Heart Pals cuties to work. I started with some ink blending and the Hearts Stencil. I masked off the top and bottom to follow the sketch. I used Copics to color up the Heart Pals duo and then then cut them out with the Heart Pals Confetti Cuts

I used the From Cupid paper and Tall Trio Confetti Cuts to add a strip to ground  my images.

Here are the challenge details.

Color Throwdown #527/ Warm My Heart

Hi, everyone!  Lori is up for her turn as hostess for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.  The colors from this week's inspiration photo are navy blue, gray, and green.  The colors are generic and it's fine if you want to add in other neutrals along with the challenge colors.

Once you’ve finished your card or other paper crafting project using the colors, add a direct link to your creation using the linky tool at the bottom of the post.  And, don’t forget to use the keyword CTD527 if you upload your project to an online gallery. You can use the keywords #ctd527and #colorthrowdown if you upload to any social media sites (yes, we're on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!).  All of the challenge "rules" are in the right sidebar in case you have any questions.  One last detail to remember, no digital designs.  Only digital images that are printed off and colored will be allowed.  Totally digital designs will be removed from the link up.

I pulled out this darling set from Erin Lee Creative. I love her face and the sweet little fox she is hugging. It's freezing here in the Midwest and the sentiment is perfect for this time of year.  I stamped the image, KoKo Girl Sled,  in Intense Black Hybrid ink and then used an assortment of Copics in the challenge colors to color up the image.

The background was created with Chipped Sapphire and  Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks and the life changing blending brushes. I added some splatters of white to mimic snow with Copic Opaque White ink. I finished off the card with a Mist Lacy Scallop Frame.

Before you head off to create, here’s some inspiration from our talented team to get you started.  The CTD team is looking forward to seeing what you create with these fun colors!

Picket Fence Studios/ January Release

It's here, it's here! The January Release from Picket Fence Studios is here. We pushed it back a few days to celebrate the Creativation Weekend! This release is HUGE and fantastic and I just know you will Love it all! You can find all the New Release stamps and dies HERE

I couldn't decide which to start off with, so let's just jump in with this beauty! Oh, my! I am in love with the Wild Heart....Gypsy Soul stamp set. It's is a stunning mix of floral and feathers and the sentiments are beautiful. I love the one I picked to use today.

I was going to leave this an all black and white image, with the strip of silver glitter paper strip along the right side AND then I got some new Distress Oxide ink colors. I had stamped the image with the Intense Black Hybrid ink, so I was able to water color with it, no problem. I used Picked Raspberry, Wild Honey, Festive Berries, and Candied Apple inks and a water color brush to quickly add color to this image. It was quick and pretty and I was happy with it. I stamped the sentiment in the same ink and then added some ink splatters in the same Distress Oxide colors. Here's a close up.

This next card was actually the first card I created for this Creativation Release. I LOVED the background pattern with all these bottles and I love how easy it is to repeat the pattern if you need to. I stamped Good Times in Intense Black ink and then colored up all the bottles in greens, golds, and dark Merlot colors.

I added a sentiment from the Ways to say Let's Drink stamp set in Intense Black ink and accented with a strip of gold glitter paper. Simple and sparkly, just the way I like it. I love this sentiment set and with the multiple images and dies available in this release, I can see lots of fun and even snarky cards being made.

My final card for today with the new release products is the gorgeous Boho Zebra stamp set. I just had to rainbow this image up! lol.

Black and White is just a great way to show off any ROYGBIV coloring with Copic markers. I love that there is a Boho Zebra die for easy and precise cutting.   I did some ink smooshing in the background and masked off part of the sentiment to complete the card front. I love how the stitched circle frames up the diva Zebra

There is a lot more releasing today. Like, A LOT, LOT more!!! So be sure to check out what the rest of the team has created.  You'll find all the details on the Picket Fence Studios Blog.

Happy Shopping. I can't wait to see what you all order.

Color Throwdown 526/ One of a Kind

Hello Color Throwdown Friends. It's Lisa Henke here today as your color hostess.  We are on Color Throwdown #526! I hope you love the wintry colors I picked for this week's challenge-Blue, Aqua, and White! It's been freezing for me in the midwest, so I figured we could embrace the cold with some pretty snowflakes.

If you upload your creation to a public gallery, please use the key words CTD526, and please use #ctd526 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites.  Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of the post, please use a direct link to your specific post, not a generic link to your blog.  All of the rules are in the right sidebar, so check them out if you're unsure.  And no digital designs will be allowed - only digital images that are printed off and colored.

I kept my card super simple this week. I used only Premium Polar White card stock and two ink colors. I am still loving the Snowflake Magic stamp set, and I used the smallest flakes from the set to create the focal point.

I mounted the completed snowflake onto a Kindness Card Confetti Cut that was first cut with the Diagonal Stitched Stripes Confetti cut.  This new cover plate was just released and it's sooooo cool! I just can't get over the detail. I added a strip of white glitter paper and a scattering of sequins to complete the card.

Now here is some great inspiration from the talented design team.  We can't wait to see what you create!
