Yeti! it's cold! {seize the sketch 12}

The weather....that's all everyone seems to be talking about lately. These FREEZING temps just make me want to hibernate. Brrrrrr! I'll be happy to  hibernate and stamp.

I love that I have a stamp for just about any occasion. This Yeti, Set Go (links all listed below) stamp by Lawn Fawn was perfect for this COLD day (too cold, in fact. The boys were home from school, AGAIN!!!!)....sure warms the heart. Doesn't it??

I decided to put this easy CAS sketch to work from the Seize The Sketch Challenge blog. I'm linking this one up. You should make a card and play along, too. You have a few more days to get in on the fun.

Have a warm day!

The Deconstructed Sketch {have yourself a....}

I wanted to make sure to get this posted on time this week. I still need to blog last week's sketch card,but figured I'd start with the current one. It's DS135 and you can find it HERE.

Guy birthday cards are always in NEED in my house. This one (and three others, you'll see those soon enough) is being added to my stash. I love the Grout Grey, Gumdrop Green and Steel Blue combo.

 The designer papers are new from Studio Calico. I picked them up at I {heart}Papers.  It's called Printshop. Lots of fun patterns and colors. I really love the lighter, aqua color with the stars. It was a great fit for my  Tag Me die and the sentiment combination I created with the two RC stamp sets, Lots to Say and Bring on the Merry (yep, I pulled out a Holiday set....it's NOT just for Christmas, I tell ya!).

I had fun with a the arrows from the Crushin' set and used them to create a  pattern to my background. It also allowed me to use the fabulous Arrow Confetti Cut to tie it all together! The banner pieces tucked behind the sentiment tag are from the Tag Me die set.

Check out the sketch. I really like working with that wonky panel, too. Adds an extra element of fun ! I'm linking my card up. Why don't you join me?!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great Monday!

Sweet Sunday Sketch 204 {love}

I can't tell if that week went fast or sloooow. I think with all the FREEZING weather around here, the weeks are slow! Not to mention the computer problems I am having. Ha! Trying to stay calm over here, but it sure puts a damper on a crafty bloggers life!

I had this card all edited and looking pretty for my blog and then our laptop DIED! I should have blogged it right away. For now, I am resorting to pictures with my phone, so please bear with me. :)

It's time for another fabulous sketch with the Sweet Sunday Sketch team! I flipped this week's sketch to fit some lovey Unity stamps I have.

I used the Unity SMAK kit from last month, YOu are Loved. The love themed kit is fantastic for all your Valentine's Day projects.

I am using the same color scheme that I used last week. The soft  pretty colors, insulation pink and Smokey slate pair so nicely with the navy. I used all three to create my focal point on that Notepad Die-namics. Washi Tape Die-namics  are what I used behind the sentiment panel.

I finished it off with some of my favorite hemp twine, a die cut heart from Love Notes Confetti cuts and a button.

Here's the sketch for this week.

Stop by Karen's Blog for all three challenge details.
 Don't forget to see what the Sweet Sunday Sketch team has done this week.

Thanks so much for visiting today.

TCPTues {celebrate 3-2-1}

I'm back with a TCP Tuesday Challenge. The Cat's Pajamas DT is bringing you a new challenge to play along with each week. Kimberly is our hostess this week and she has challenged us with a 3-2-1 challenge. Use 3 different patterned papers, 2 different types of embellishments (die cuts, buttons, brads, gems, pearls, etc) and 1 type of twine, seam binding or ribbon. I hope you'll play along with us. I'll have the rest of the challenge details listed at the bottom of my post. You can also pop on over to the TCP BLog for more inspiration.

I used this adorable bun from the One Cupcake set. Stamped him on x-press blending cs and then colored him up with my Copic markers. I added in my 3rd piece of pattern paper by piecing in the sweet little cupcake liner.

I added touched of Stickles Glitter to the confetti detail already on the cupcake.  I counted that as my first embellie and then added a trio of sequins for my second embellishment.
The brown twine was my 1 bit of twine.

I did not count my dies as my embellies, since I used them as some of my layers. Yes, I changed the rules a bit for my card. That's Ok....use the challenge as a guide and as inspiration. We just want you to ink up those TCP stamps and create something.

I used the Dots Cutups die to create a fun tone on tone polka dotted background to set the festive tone of my card. The sentiment and image were mounted on the rectangle from Framed Up  . The sketch is from last week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

Here are the Details on how you can join in on the fun:
  1. Each Tuesday a new challenge will be posted here on this blog as well as on ourSplitcoaststampers forum and our Facebook page.
  2. If you want to play along you just upload your design using the InLinkz button below*. If you want to display your pretties on Splitcoaststampers use keyword TCPTUES253. Only the entries uploaded to the Inlinkz button will be considered for Swanky Stamper at the end of the month.
  3. You must have your project posted by Monday, 12 midnight EST to be eligible to win the week’s Cat Cash.
  4. Cards and projects must have at least one Cat’s Pajamas Stamp or CutUps die in the project.
  5. On the following TCP Tuesday, the week’s winner will be chosen from the previous challenge and will receive a Cat Cash Voucher for $10.00.
  6. At the end of the month, The Swanky Stamper will be selected from all the weekly entries. The Swanky Stamper will receive some of the stamps from our next release and get to play along with us at our Pajamas Party and Blog Hop. AND… They’ll even get a special spot in the Gallery highlighting the project that won them the gig and a snazzy badge to display on their blog.
  7. The Swanky Stamper will be announced the First Monday of the month on Splitcoaststampers, Facebook page and this Blog.
Have a great Tuesday! My kids are home AGAIN!!! THis is the worse winter weather we have seen in years.....we got ANOTHER 3-5 inches. It's crazy, I tell ya!

Sweet Sunday Sketch 203 {Peas & Carrots}

It's cold and snowy. It's a long weekend here in the States as the boys have Monday off from school for MLK Day. It's also a busy one here in our house with LOTS Of basketball games and two of them playing in a Soccer tournament. And I finally decided to get started on the transformation of Joshua's green dinosaur room, to a tween boy room. This mama got a little emotional with the first few paint strokes yesterday.
I have a card to share today for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch. I am so excited to be blogging with these sketches on a weekly basis. I hope you are enjoying them, too. I used my Reverse Confetti products on this one.

 I love the soft pinks and greys on this card. I knew they would look great with the Navy. The papers are from the Collecting Memories paper pack. I made a custom sentiment with the fun RC set, Go Together. It's part of the Key Words collection and there are so many fabulous combos you can create.

I used the Double Scallop Edge die to make the sweet tiny scallops along the left side. I just tucked it under an Insulation Pink strip and then hid the seam with a Twine Bow.

In place of the fishtail flag along the bottom, I played up the love theme and added a row of layered die cut hearts from the Love Notes Die. I topped it with some pretty sequins.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Be sure to stop by Karen's Blog for all the Challenge details AND the link up. I can't wait to see what you all do with this week's sketch.
