CAS Remake!

Sniff, Sniff, sniff! I'm sad that this is the end of my CAS DT term. I've had a blast and I hope I've helped inspire you along the way. Of course you'll still see my CAS cards, but they will most likely end up here on my blog on Tuesdays (since I won't have the heads up on the challenge ahead of time). Thank-you all for your sweet comments left in my SCS gallery (and here) and all the encouragement along the way. It was an honor to hold the spot on the DT for the summer term and it was a joy working with Harriet, Ann and Jen along the way!
Okay, so the challenge this week is REMAKE! Yep, go back and re-do one of your own cards-it can be a CAS card you've already done or why not make a non-CAS card into a CAS card? I decided to re-do this card of mine. It just never sat right with me and then we went away for a few days so I never got to make another paper pieced CAS20 card. I changed up the layout a bit and the stamp, kept the paper and ribbon the same and here's the revised card. I am soooo happy with the re-make! Now I can let it rest!

I'll be back tomorrow with a fabulous new SUO card full of new mini goodies! Tomorrow is Sept. 1 and the new Holiday Mini goes live!!! You're gonna love it if you don't already. Hugs, Lisa

And then there's this one! It's my favorite!

I've got another holiday card, surprise, surprise!!!! I used some good ol' kraft on this one with classic black and cream. Isn't it pretty? I kept it clean and simple, but yet it has a bit of elegance to it Okay, so maybe not Moxie Fab's definition of elegace, so maybe it's more shabby chic, which totally cracks me up because I thought the vintage/shabby chic challenge was the hardest. Oh, well, call it what you will, it's still my fave! The chip board candy cane is Cosmo cricket! I used the Unity Poinsetta again this time in vintage cream along with a PTI sentiment from Holiday Treats in real red. Thanks for checking in with me, hope you're feeling inspired to start some Christmas cards. I'm working on the design for my family card-I swear they're going to get finished before Dec. 1 this year!!! How's that for a goal? Hugs, Lisa

More Holiday-this one was hard!

Yep, I did it and I am quite proud of myself. Cath's challenge on Tuesday last week was vintage/shabby chic. Well, I love the look of vintage and there are many great crafters out there that can create amazing shabby chic cards like there's no tomorrow. I am not one of those people. I wasn't going to take on this challenge, but I had done all the others so I pushed myself and came up with a vintagey card I am quite proud of. I used some new SU flocked paper (ooooohhhh, is this stuff gorgeous! it's coming in the new mini on Sept. 1) and a cool music note dp from the cosmo cricket Jolly By Golly pack. I stitched around the edge and I sponged some soft suede ink to give it that antiqued look and stuck to pretty vanilla satin ribbon and some pearls. The poinsetta stamp is the gorgeous one by Unity that you can find in the Hodge Podge of Happiness kit. Here's a close up of the details. Like I said, it may not be Moxie Fab vintage, but I love how it turned out! Hugs, Lisa

Moxie Fab-Fun & Cute

I think a lot of my cards are this style. I'm just drawn to cute and whimsical images. It helps when you have just the right paper, like this darling Jillibean Soup dp. It's from their new Christmas line, Grandma's Christmas Soup. I've been using my PTI holiday sets for most of the sentiments I've been stamping. Add a bow, a button and a gingham scalloped edge and this screams cute to me!

Check out the Moxie Fab challenges. There was a new one posted each day last week! Hugs, Lisa

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas....

well in the crafting world it is. I can't say I have started this early before, but Cath over at Moxie Fab put up the challenge and I jumped at it! Plus it helped that I got lots of new goodies from Limelight. I know, I keep saying that but it's true and I just LOVE it all. So for my next few posts, and probably more than one each day I'll be sharing with you what I've been working on. Last Monday the call was for Clean and Graphic HOliday cards. So thanks to the new Cosmo Cricket line, Jolly By Golly, I whipped up this fun card.

So what do you think? Is it Moxie Fab enough for you? Hugs, Lisa

HHH-texture and doodles!

Hip Hop Hangover

No chit chat today....I'm way behind, but did have a productive morning (non-stamping related)! I played along with both hip hop challenges yesterday and I started some holiday cards. I even squeezed in a scrapbook page thanks to the texture challenge and the yummy new corrugated alpha by Jillibean Soup. There is an unofficial theme to this week's hip hop hangover blog hop-trees! I got lucky and had my doodle card with the elegant tree stamp already completed when I read the idea about at themed HHH. So here you go!
Ric Rac, stamp, rhinestone and paper can all be found at Limelight Papercrafts! In case you didn't know.....Mandy is going to be carrying the new In-Store Only stamp kit starting Sept. I've gotten a little sneak peak and OMG!!! You are going to love it, wait, who am I kidding, of course you'll love-we're all a bunch of Unity addicts!!! lol! Okay, so here's my page. I used the Unity scrapbooking kit, Confessions and Frame This alpha.
Off to feed the kiddos lunch! Hugs, Lisa

Animal Somethings

Haaaaaapy Friday!!!! This week with the Stamp Something challenge we are stamping with animal images.
Photobucket
Our sponsor, Looby Loo digi designs, generously gave us some newly released images to work with. I was feeling punny when I made this card. I just couldn't stop thinking of a welcome home greeting (I really wanted to do a welcome to the neighborhood card, but figured it would not be appropriate to give away to anyone new. LOL!). So I'll hold onto it and give it to DH sometime after he has been away. Image was stamped with momento tuxedo black ink and colored with copics. I added some brads and the felt pieces are new from Jillibean soup. Come play along, as always there's a fun prize involved! Link your animal creations to the Mr. Linky on the SS blog to be entered. I'll be back later with some fun Unity Hip Hop Hangover projects! Hugs, Lisa

More Buttons for Raspberry Suite Color Challenge!!!

Today's the last day to add your creations to Dawn's blog for her 15th Raspberry Suite Color challenge. I made this card for it, using Everyday Button Bits. I finished it on Monday and finally am getting around to posting it. Nothing like waiting till the end, but hey, it's done.

Okay, so I don't know what else to say today, so I guess that means I should just post this. No chit chat, today, it's going to be a busy one. Hugs, Lisa

MFT and Limlight Goodies!!!

Over the weekend, I worked on the MFT challenges. I already shared the flopsey card, so I have this one for the sketch challenge. I decided to focus on the sentiment, it's a nice big one and I just adore it. The stamps are from Rainy Day Friends. I added the fun paper pieced umbrella for an extra embellishment. Papers and button are June Bug by Basic Grey-they just make me happy. Get yours at Limelight Papercraft. Mandy and Drew(the behind the scenes guy) have been rockin' the store lately, filling it with all kinds of new yumminess!!! I've got NEW Jillibean stuff coming today (another order with more new goodness in on it's way to the store soon!) and Cosmo Cricket, too. We just found out last night she's getting......wait for it.....the new Unity Store Only monthly kits!!!!! I sooooo {{{heart}}} this store!

PTI Blog Hop-Autumn Inspired!!!

Thanks to Crystal I'm here today joining the PTI blog hop. That means today is Aug. 25!!! Is September really next week????? The mornings have been crisp here and HOT throughout the afternoons, just how I like it. I'm not ready for winter, but bring on FALL!!! I love this time of year for the cool mornings, beautiful colors, football games, playing in the leaves, wearing jeans!!! The focus this month is fall-colors, leaves, pumpkins, texture. I actually have two cards I made this morning. I think I came up with two fun, new fall color combos I really like. They are similar, but still both fresh and new to me! I am sooo excited for the new pumpkin/orange color PTI will debut on Sept. 15-buttons and ribbon in this color are going to make me giddy!
I used Dark Chocolate, Melon Berry, Kraft, Scarlet Jewel and SU's Pumpkin' Pie! I added lots of layers, some twill ribbon, vintage twine, and die cut leaves. I even pulled out my crimmper and added some texture with that. Sentiment is from Limitless Labels. So this first one was my fave, but I also did this card in a similar color scheme.
I left off the Pumpkin color here and used the pine branch from Take A Bough. Sentiment is from the Limitless Labels set. I used some Damask Designs (love that leafy, elegant look of the giant damask). Finished this one off with Scarlet Jewel stitched ribbon and buttons. Off to see the rest of the Autumn inspiration. See you in the PTI forum! Hugs, Lisa

CAS29-Anthropologie Inspired

ummmm, have you seen this store? I've always adored it. I love the funky, fresh and chic styles they carry. I've always just window shopped since I don't think I could pull off that style and because the prices are quite expensive for me. I would loooooove to own these boots! A girl could buy a lot of stamps, paper and ribbon with the cost of those. So, why do I bring this up, you ask? It's the source of our inspiration this week in the CAS Challenge forum. Click on bags and shoes to pick your inspiration piece. This clutch, kept calling my name. Kinda drab, I know, but those pleats-yummmy!So, I came up with this card and I have to say it is one of those that is just blah to me. I do love how my pleats came out, so I guess that says something. I used Saraha Sand and Very Vanilla textured cs for this. Come play along, see what you can come up with. Check out the CAS challenges every Monday! Hugs, Lisa

Books and Friendship!

I didn't do much stamping this weekend, but I did manage this one! The MFT challenge this week is to ink up a set you haven't stamped with yet or one that is looong neglected. I ordered this adorable flopsey one almost two months ago, so I was happy to color him up! The sketch is from Beate's weekend sketch, I just flipped it around to make my sentiment fit. I {{{heart}}} this blue stitched ribbon! I created a little pleating with it by simply pulling the string on one end and gathering up the fabric. It's a great no-sew technique! See you tomorrow with my CAS sample for this week. Later in the week, I should have some scrapbook pages to share. I determined to get through last summer's pictures. Hugs, Lisa

CAS DT Call!!!

My time on the SCS CAS design team is almost up. Sad for me, but good news for you. We are looking for another group of talented CAS stampers to fill the spot for the fall term. Jen has set it up a little differently this time, instead of just posting your favorite cards, she has created 3 challenges for you to do. You can do 1 or all of them, and you can make as many cards as you want to enter. Check out all the details here, in the CAS Challenge thread.
Here are the 3 challenges with their keywords to upload, followed by a sample I made for each.
Sketch Challenge: Keyword CASDT09FALL01
The sketch is based on a card made by girlydecou!

Color Challenge: Monochromatic with a Twist: Keyword CASDT09FALL02
Monochromatic using shades of brown with just a tad bit of red. This may be an embellishment, a small part of a colored image, a small piece of cardstock, etc. Keep the red to a minimum.

Theme Challenge: Keyword CASDT09FALL03
Your choices:Autumn,Autumn holiday, or You may make a Christmas card since most people are making them right now.

(this last card, I must add is SUO, using new paper and stamp from the new Mini coming out on Sept.1. the sketch is from the Diva Coffee Break Designs blog).
Good Luck and have fun. I'll be looking for your creations in the CAS DT search gallery! Hugs, Lisa

HHH-getting inky with Unity

Hip Hop Hangover

It's your Friday addition of Hip Hop Hangover, aaaaaand I actually got some stamping time in yesterday. I also put my Unity August Kit of the Month to work along with the fun summer kit, Beach Days & Sun Rays! I recently stumbled across this scrapbooking challenge blog, Mix it Up! ,and am really liking it. I used their sketch for this page.

I'm still working on last summer's pictures. This page shows all the stuff Nicholas learned to do at the lake last year. There is a ton of exploring when you are only 1.

Next up is one I did for one of the Hip Hop challenges. This was a color challenge-any shade of blue, green and red. I wanted to use this image, but I also didn't want it to be girly. The October Afternoon dp, Road Maps, was perfect for the job. I added a little detail to the the wings with a white gel pen. The sketch comes from Taylor Expressions sketch challenge. Enjoy your Friday, thanks for stopping by. I'm off to see the other Unity HHH inspiration! Hugs, Lisa

Birthday Somethings!!!

This week with Stamp Something is a birthday challenge. Our sponsor is SNR's Card Universe. We all made some super cute birthday cards, go check out the DT.Come play along for a chance to win a fun prize. Just link your card to Mr. Linky on the Stamp Something blog. I {{{heart}}} this color combo-bermuda bay, razzleberry, chocolate chip, and old olive. It's another SUO card (I created this for one of my swap groups) showcasing the new Lattice die and the Birthday Bliss stamp set. I can't stop using that lattice die. Here I decided to cut in in half and create a fun border. What do you think? Keeping this one short and sweet. Check back later for a HHH post with lots of unity goodness! Hugs, Lisa

Limelight sketch and Product focus-Stickers!

hello, hello! It's Thursday already, what?!!! This week is flying by, but I am happy that today I get to share a fun page with you. Here's the sketch from the Limelight Six Chicks. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to make it work with a scrapbook page. Our product focus this week is stickers. I'm not usually a sticker fan, BUT now that chipboard and epoxy stickers are on the market and they are self-adhesive, I'm quickly changing my mind. I {{{{heart}}}} these chipboard alpha stickers by Basic Grey. I kept them bare naked to help balance out the brightness of the colors from the photos and the papers. I also decided to add some of these fun clear droplets by kaiser to act like little drops of water. This was a fun new lake toy we bought last summer and we love it! The boys jump off it, I lounge on it, and it is perfect for Nicholas to wade in the middle (it has this plastic, mesh net) and be a part of the fun. The jounaling reads, " Nicolas calls it the boat, the boys call it our raft. Whatever you call it, it's our island of fun!" The papers I used are various patterns by October Afternoon.
Sooooo wanna win a prize???? Wanna win something new and fabulous????? Of course you do, use this sketch and add some stickers to your creation and link your project to Mandy's blog for a chance to win some sweet new stuff by Cosmo Cricket.

Here are the deets:

***Use the sketch provided and think stickers!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC028.
**Post a comment with a link to your card on Mandy's post by Sunday, Aug.23, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
**PRIZE ~One lucky winner will receive a package of Cosmo Cricket Earth Love Icon Rub-ons!!!

You have to check out the store and all the new Cosmo stuff Mandy got in. eeeeee! But before you do that, stop by my fellow DT member blogs and leave them some love. Mandy, Amy, Lorie, Lee, JenMarie, Ryann, and our August Guest designer, Tiffany Johnson.

Hugs, Lisa

Contest Entries, Not a Winner

I know who did win and it wasn't me, so I feel safe in sharing these with you! I did these for the Stampin' Up! CAS contest. Each month as a challenge to demo's we can submit cards in categories they choose. Last month there was a clean and simple category and I just couldn't resist sending in a few.
If these look a bit familiar, it's because I CASED myself. hehehe! I created cards like these earlier this summer with non-SU products. I just changed them a bit to make them SUO!!! I'm off to sneak in a little stamping while the boys are downstairs playing. It's a rainy day here and perfect stamping weather. Hugs, Lisa

CAS Masculine!!!

This week the CAS challenge is to make a masculine card. YIKES!!! I always struggle with a manly, masculine card. You would think I would have it down by now, with all the men in my life, lol!!! I can do boy cards, though and that's the route I took with this one. The layout is from Kristina Werner, and the more I look at this card I the more I think of Becky Carafa. I think it's the colors, they are Becky colors and I love them-soft sueds, ripe avocado, ocean tides with a touch of pumpkin! I got my latest order from Limelight and couldn't resist Sporty Billy any longer! I combined some words from a few of the sentiments included in the set to create this sentiment. I say this all the time for some reason, so I had to put it on this card. We are just starting up fall soccer, so I know this card will come in handy for the first day of games next week. The orange star is actually from the die cut shapes from October Afternoon, Road Maps.
Here are the Limelight specials this week!
-Basic Grey and October Afternoon stamp sets 20% off
-All Stickers (including Chipboard Stickers) 20% off
-Basic Grey June Bug line 20% off (entire line)
Keep checking back, Mandy has LOTS of new stuff coming in very soon! Hugs, Lisa

Here's what we are doing today!

I didn't want to leave you all hanging for another day. We were at the lake the last few days, squeezing in one more long weekend before the boys go back to school. Today is my Stamp Camp and I am excited to see my girls and get some quality stamping time in! Here are the projects we'll be making today. They are all SUO and most are cased from Stampin' Success magazine (it's a SU demo only magazine full of tips and ideas! another perk of being a demo!). This first card is cased from Kristin Moore, though. I loved this card of hers and I changed it up to showcase the new In Colors!
I've got to let them play with the Big Shot. I think people get scared of the cost, BUT I think it is a must have stamping supply! So we are making pillow boxes. I changed up the colors at the last minute and my girls will be making razzleberry boxes with the same ribbon and the tag will be in pumpkin!
We will also be doing a page corner book mark with razzleberry lemonade dsp. It is just adorable, but I forgot to take a picture. Here are the last two cards we'll be doing. I finally ordered the medallion stamp and am soooo happy! It is beautiful!

Here's one with circle circus and birthday bliss! love the pop of olive! Have a great Sunday! Hugs, Lisa

HHH with Bling!

Hip Hop Hangover

So this is the last of my CAS challenge cards from Monday's challenge. I saved it for today since it is Hip Hop Hangover and it is a Unity card of course. This pocket is so fun to work with and thanks to Jackie (she's one talented chica!) I came up with this card. I just love how she did her pocket on this card, so I CASED that. Image stamped in Vintage Cream ink on Night of Navy cs then crumple it up to give it a real demin look. The Bling (kaiser rhinestones) and designer paper (Basic Grey June Bug) can be found at Limelight Papercrafts. I also used some of this yummy ribbon and Kaiser rhinestones, that you can get from the Limelight store, too. I was able to stamp one quick one yesterday for the Unity Hip Hop Challenge-Wing It. You had to use a Unity image with wings, I used this birdie and sentiment from Hodge Podge of Happiness. Love it! Speaking of Limelight.....Did you see their SALE this week? Well, go check it out! Hugs, Lisa

Stamp Something Summery!

It's a summer challenge this week with Stamp Something. While we still have plenty of HOT days ahead of us, our summer is sure winding down around here. Our kids go back to school on Wednesday!!!! I created this fun card with a mix of summery colors-all PTI (summer sunrise, lemon tart, melon berry and aqua mist!!!) Come play along and be sure to see what the rest of the DT came up. When you make your summery card, add a direct link to your creation to Mr. Linky on the SS blog. You'll then be entered to win some goodies from our prize vault! Have a fun and fabulous Friday!!! Hugs, Lisa

SUO, CAS and Bling!

Don't you just love the acronyms or stamper lingo as I like to call it. Over time I think you just learn and know them, but just in case you ever get lost and want to check out what something means, there is a thread on SCS (yes, they think of everything over there) to help you out. And if you need something more relevant to everyday acronyms or texting codes, a friend sent this to me a while back. I have it book marked for the day I need to reference it. My boys are too young to have cell phones and to be texting, but one day (sooner than I think, I'm sure) I'll be wondering what something means that they have texted in code. Anyway, here's the link. You can type in the text code (I'm sure there is a way cooler name for that, but I'm not cool enough to know it, lol!) and it will spit back the real meaning, in English. Okay, back to my card. It is clean and simple, Stampin' Up! only, and full of bling! The big shot, big bold cupcake die, and punches helped make this card come together extra fast. Colors are soft suede, apricot appeal, regal rose and the new melon mambo. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Lisa

More Bling!

I love how this card turned out. I mean how can you go wrong with this set? I think it is my FAVE right now, it is just too fun. I love being able to change the colors up with different buttons. On this one I used the blush and melon berry buttons. Did you see the new colors (of buttons) coming on the 15th? Now I need to go buy more button jars. This one of my CAS cards with bling I did for Monday's challenge. Probably a few extra layers than most CAS cards, but they are simple layered squares with rounded corners. The card was super quick to make. All Papertrey Ink products on this one. Oh, and just so you know, I'm stretching out my CAS cards (remember I told you I made 3) I've been busy cutting cs for my card class on Sunday. I'll have a sneak peek of those when I get a chance. Hugs. Lisa

MFT in Black and White

The MFT challenge this week (you can still play along, you have until Wed. to upload) is to create a black and white card. The image can have color, but everything else has to be black and white. I pulled out the adorable little Cuddle Up Carter set to do this one. The stamped stars come from another MFT set, An Owl for All Seasons. Papers are October Afternoon and PTI. I also used Taylor's sketch to pull this together. I saw the sketch floating around blogland last week and it spoke to me, so I used it. LOL! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Lisa

CAS with Bling!

The CAS challenge this week is a Ways to Use it challenge-add some Bling on your card. I made three cards this week (I'll share those later this week, maybe Wednesday?) but I also worked on a scrapbook page. It has some bling on it (those flourishes are all glitterfied), so I thought you might light to see another CAS page and know that your pages don't have to be full of layers and embellishment. Sometimes I think that intimidates a lot of people and that is why they don't scrapbook. Focus on the pictures and the story, keep it clean and simple. My layout was cased from a Scrapbooks, Ect. magazine.
Journaling reads, "The boys ride the tube almost the howle time with thier thumbs up. It is our sign to tell the driver to go faster. It makes me and Tim laugh, even when the boat is at maximum tubin' speed, they still want to go faster."
Check out the CAS27 challenge! Hugs, Lisa

Grateful for SUO!

I like to call myself an equal opportunity stamper, I use all products and things I like. I also like to stick to my roots, so to speak, and so I always fall back into Stampin'Up! products and when I do I like to keep them strictly, SUO! This card I made for my neighbor who collected our mail, garbage cans and cared for our fish while we were away last week. I have the BEST neighbors!!! Love the stamp set, Falling Leaves, but tried to save money and only ordered the matching Jumbo Wheel, Bright Blessings. Used up some New In Colors on this one-crushed curry, soft suede, and dusty durango. Hugs, Lisa

Hip Hop Hangover!!!

Hip Hop Hangover

I have not had any good quality stamping time in over 10 days. Our house guests are gone and we have nothing to do today, so I snuck downstairs while the boys were busy playing the Wii and created these two cards for the HHH today. I used Mercy's sketch from this week and the Bevy of Butterfly (this set is now for sale!) set in Soft Suede(SU), Raspberry Fizz (PTI) and Jillibean Soup dp.

This one uses a retired SU scrappin' kit, 2 Sweet. I love the purples and grey with Kiwi. The stamp is from Hodge Podge of Happiness! This set makes me smile. I highlighted the hearts with a white gel pen. Oh, and this sketch comes from Amber, it is in the Unity forum, just for fun!
Thanks for stopping by. I think I am the last on the list for HHH. Nope, looks like Ms. Sherry is last on the list. See the full list of HHH posts in the SCS forum. TGIF!!!! Hugs, Lisa
