Thanks a Loot!

Totally loving this new à la mode by My Favorite Things.  Did you pick her up at the mid-month VIP release?  The set is called I Treasure Our Friendship and I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch to whip up this card. This only took me 10 minutes. Okay, so I admit.... I did already have this cutie colored up and waiting for her card placement.  I love doing that....getting better at doing this....having some images colored up and ready to go in my stash. Makes for quick card making sessions.

Other MFT product used here today:

MFT Large Simply Scallops die-namics border
(was part of the VIP kit last week and will be released on June 7)
Perfect Petals Trio flower die-namic
MFT Twine
More Essential Sentiments (sentiment from the inside of the card)
Thanks a loot for stopping by today!

Cute is What I Do

Finally! Yes, Finally I got a chance to ink up this sweet PI cutie.  I know you all love her, too.  I see her used A LOT and every time I do, I tell myself that I need to put her on a card. Finally this week I did. I used the Wed. Stamp Club 21 sketch.

I won't lie...... It was a bit of a doozie for me, but in the end I made it work.
Come play along and see what you can do with it....there's a MFT gift voucher up for grabs. There will be a random draw each week from all the participants who have uploaded their card to SCS using the proper keyword. The winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winner used MFT stamps, they will receive $5 in bonus bucks, for a total of $20. Soooo cool and so worth playing along.

Papers are from the great summer pack by Pink Paislee called Hometown Summer.  Totally diggin' the pink gingham and that watermelon print! This paper was the inspiration for my card and I knew this PI was a great pick this week.

MFT products used today are:
Pure Innocence-Being Cute is What I do
Four Point frame die-namic
Jumbo Ric Rac border
Open Scallop doily die-namic
Sweet Stack  lables die-namic (circle image)
MFT Twine in Honey Dew

There are some baby braddies on here, too! Do you have any left??? I do, and it was sure fun to use them here today.  And see my curved sentiment.....love that about clear stamps.....just a gentle bend onto my acrylic block and I made it fit the curve of the circle.

I also finished the inside.  I love using bits and pieces that are left on my desk to make the inside of my card just as cute as the outside. It's a nice surprise to the recipient when they open it.

There you. Good luck with the sketch this week. Head over to the MFT Forum and Kim's blog for more inspiration with the sketch. Enjoy the day.

The Sky's the Limit

I loved the sketch for this week's CAS challenge over on SCS.  I've said it many times....the clean and simple challenge on Monday's is a great way to kick start your mojo!

I used the new Up, Up & Away stamp set by MFT along with the fabby papers from the Lime Twist line by My Mind's Eye.  These clouds and balloon dp are from the Outta the Blue pack. I hand-dyed some more seam binding ribbon with some glimmer mist, rounded some corners and added a touch of brown twine.

The balloon was pieced with some coordinating papers and popped up with dimensionals.
I even did up the inside since I had some strips of paper sitting in front of me.  It was either save them for later, or use them now....why not now??
A few stamped hot air balloons on the inside and this was finished. Check out the CAS challenge every Monday.

WSC20-Happy Birthday Dude!

Back so soon??? LOL! Glad you are. It's officially Wednesday, so that means the fun continues with the MFT WSC20! Wow! 20 weeks into the year, sounds a little weird saying it that way. Anywhoo.......it's Another great sketch and you get another look at some MFT inspiration.

Kim's Blog has the line up of the DT samples. I love checking these out each week, I'm always blown away by the talent.

Come play along....there's a MFT gift voucher up for grabs. There will be a random draw each week from all the participants who have uploaded their card to SCS using the proper keyword. The winner will receive a $15 gift voucher. If the winner used MFT stamps, they will receive $5 in bonus bucks, for a total of $20. Soooo cool and so worth playing along.

I kept my card very simple. I needed to add a little boy card to my stash and the new Skater Boy was begging to see ink. I also was dying to cut into this pack, Outta the Blue,  from the Lime Twist line by My Mind's Eye. Instead of scallops I used the open zig zag die-namic. Of course the stacking stars die-namic was the go-to embellie to add along with some cappucino twine.
I then played up the stars on the inside and used the birthday sentiment included in the set. It's hard to see in this picture, but it's there. Easy, Peasy!

Here's what you will get with the May 17th: VIP and à la modes release:

Who's that Girl - Enjoy the Ride VIP Collection $32.90
Who's that Girl - Enjoy the Ride stamp set
Enjoy the Ride Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set - will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE)

Lily Bee Design Happily Lost 6 X 6 patterned paper pad

also available tonight......
the new à la modes (remember these are clear stamps this month!):
I Need Some Face Time
I Treasure Our Friendship

Here's the card I have for you tonight.
How fun is this image???? It is sooo darn cute. The papers are from the Happily Lost pack by Lily Bee Designs (yes, the one included in tonight's VIP kit) AND those giant scallops (Simply Scallops Large die-namic) on the left of the main image are the die-namic you'll get tonight, too. I also couldn't resist adding some of the beautiful upsy daisy die-namic flowers and you know I had to tie it all up with some Peapod Twine.
It's a fabulous VIP package tonight.....you KNOW you want it! Off you go to Arlene's blog to finish off the hop.
Thanks for stopping by!

I Treasure our Friendship!

Tonight is our mid-month release with MFT.  You'll be able to order the VIP kit (come back for our blog hop tonight to see what a cutie it is) AND the two brand new à la modes. This morning I've got aother teaser for you.

In the past, we've released our à la modes images in cling rubber, however, this month, we're releasing both of our à la modes in clear photopolymer, just like the rest of our stamps. This means that we can bring them to you a slightly lower price point than usual - $9.00 each! How fabulous is that?! Since our clear stamps are made in the USA, they are of the highest quality, so you'll have the same great image quality that you're accustomed to with any of our other clear stamps! Sweet deal right?

Today is a looksie at the new set called, I Treasure our Friendship. While I admit, I am not a huge pirate fan, I have to say this IS one pirate I DO like! She's soooo cute and love her giant chest of treasure!  I used one of my favorite flower die-namics, Upsy Daisy.  Seriously....it is a great accent for LOTS of cards. Check out those giant scallops.....it's an early peek at to something to expect for tonight. *wink*wink*  The papers are another pack from Lily Bee Designs, called Happily Lost.  Ahhhhh! the colors and prints are fabulous.

And again, because I used a dark card base (hot fudge cs by MFT) I did up the inside. The Hello comes from Well Worn Greetings and I used another daisy.

Check out Kim's Blog for today's line up of more samples with this à la mode.
See you back here tonight at 10 pm for the VIP Blog Hop!

a little à la mode

What a fantastic weekend we had. Thanks to a soccer tournament, we got a little mini vacation in Lexington, Ky. It was rainy and soooo muddy and day two of the tournament was actually cancelled, BUT we made the most of it and had a great time with the boys and our soccer friends.
I am happy to be starting the week off right with a great night's sleep in my own bed and the MFT mid-month release teasers.  That means it's time to show off the newest à la modes.  There's something special about these cuties this month.......Let Kim know what you think. Same cute stamps, BUT this month MFT is releasing them in clear photopolymer.

First up is the set called, I Need Some Facetime. Here's what I did with it. Still lovin' those Lime Twist papers.....the speech bubbles just make me happy and so do the colors. I used Jen's May ASFYTT which made this one easy to pull together.

 Other MFT product you'll see:
She's stamped on x-press blending cs and colored with copics. A giant wood vaneer flower button and some razzleberry grosgrain also help accent the front.

I decided to pretty up the inside, as well.  I feel like I had to since the card base was so dark. I stamped the sweet à la mode again, and added a row of pin dots from the Notched Tag set and added part of a sentiment from the set.
I hope you enjoy today's teasers.  Kim has the full list of participants on her blog. Check it out and be sure to stop back tomorrow for the second à la mode you can purchase on Tuesday night along with this month's VIP kit.

Congrats...You Made it!

I decided to whip up a quick card for one of my friend's daughter's. She has been a part of a fabulous, esteem building program for girls at our school (Girl's on the Run) and this weekend they had their end-of-the-program run.  This was a BIG deal and I am so proud of her.  I thought a card was the perfect way to tell her, so.
Okay.....so I used a soccer girl.....I couldn't find the stamp I wanted to use (YES, it's a hazard of having too many stamps, lol! AND too little time....I had to use what I could find...I only had 20 minutes to make this). This cutie was sitting on my desk, so I made it work. She's a Pure Innocence stamp, I get a Kick out of YouMore of those Lime Twist Papers by My Mind's Eye, a border of stars die-namic, a sentiment from the Grad Girl à la mode, a stacking star die-namic with some twine.  I did it all up on a tag, such a fun way to show off any stamp.

I colored it up with copics.  Can't live without these markers AND there's a little giveaway I'm taking part in. Crossing my fingers I might be one of the lucky ones to win 7 new markers!!!  Have you heard of scrapbookpal.com? I've been ordering from them for years AND LOVE their super speedy shipping(you can't beat the FREE shipping on orders over $25).  I've bought many things from them over the years: embossing folders, glimmer mist, ADHESIVE, Tim Holtz Distress ink...to name a few.  They also now sell Copic markers.
Anyway...check them out!  Aside from the little contest they are holding (btw, you can try to win them too. Check that out over on FB), I do truly love the store. I wouldn't tell you so, if I really didn't think so.

Tomorrow is Unity FWF! I've got a masculine card. Come back to see it.

I used the sweet Pure Innocence I get a Kick out of You (couldn't find  the stamp I really wanted to use....à la mode All Star. Yes, it's a hazzard of having too many stamps. LOL!). The sentiment comes from à la mode grad girl. Some cute My Mind's Eye dp, Lime Twist along with a star border die-namic, a stacking star die-namic and some yummy twine, all from MFT was all I needed to make this card. I mounted her up on a tag.  Love using tags....it's a great shape to accent a stamped image.

MFT WSC....I get scrappy!

Another week, another Wednesday.....love this day.  I have my weekly bible study, it's the middle of the week (only 2 days till the weekend!) and there is  always a great sketch to work with. This week I used the sketch to make a scrapbook page.  I think it was the banner, that lead me this way....well, that and the fact that I had these pics from my little guy's 2nd. birthday (he's 4, now) staring me down.
I ♥ the Fishtail Banner die-namics.....I just used the straight edged flags for his banner, figured the scallops made it a little too, girly. Of course the open zig zag was a perfect match.  It's one of my go-to-boy dies, love that, too!
I did up the title on the Four Point frame, since the sketch called for that. I added a Hearts A Plenty heart, along with a Jillibean corrugated number and his name.  Letters were all stamped with the Typewriter alphabet. Some Jillibean dp and this page came together rather quickly. A few wood vaneer buttons and yummy twine, finished this one off. Here's a closer looksie at the banner. Oh, and the hearts were cut with the teeny heart from the Notched Tag die-namic.

Check out the rest of the DT samples with this week's sketch over at Kim's Blog.
Then join us in the MFT forum for all the fun!
Enjoy the day!

MFT May Creative Challenge

Oh, boy and what a challenge it was. LOL!  Happy Tuesday and welcome to the My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Challenge for May. In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. The Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we explore our creativity using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, Eva and Arlene have challenged us to give monochromatic coloring a try! Visit Kim's Blog for a full list of designers that have taken up the challenge!
EEEEEK! I was scared.  I think we all were.  Many of us had never tried this technique, but a challenge is a challenge AND I thought it felt good step out of my comfort zone a bit. I stuck to a gray scale and colored up the new skater girl, Roll With It! I did this all with 4 Copic markers....C1, C4, C7 and my colorless blender.  Oh, and I did add a touch of blush to her cheeks with an R02.  I have to say......I really love this.  I think because I'm so proud of myself for trying something new!
I played up the grays throughout the card (strips of the scallop ribbon die-namic), but also didn't want the whole card to be blah. So I used some fun Lime Twist papers in a gorgeous color combo. Of course, the speech bubble from Say What? was a no-brainer, thanks to the sweet design on the paper.  I added some stitched ribbon, a button with some twine in lilac to pretty it all up!

I decided I'm giving this one to my neice for her birthday, so I finished off the inside, too.
Another Say What die-namic speech bubble, strip of scallop ribbon and the sentiment from Just My Type!

Check out Kim's blog to see what other fabulous monochromatic creations you'll see today!
They really are beautiful!
Give it a try.

It's a Tag Kind of Day!

I haven't shared this tag yet.  I made it month's ago for a magazine pub call.....it didn't get picked.  I decided it was time to show it off and that I wasn't going to re-submit it for anything.  Plus, I didn't have anything new I could share today.
BUT.....I DO adore that little banner.

MFT product and Cosmo Cricket, Crica 1934 paper.

Tomorrow I'm showing something I am very proud of, so come back!

There She Goes.....Mother of All Blog Hops

Welcome to the 2nd annual Mother of All Blog Hops sponsored by There She Goes Clears Stamps! If you’ve arrived here from Emma Hubert, then you are in the right spot! If not, you will want to start back on the There She Goes team blog in order to find out what you need to do to be eligible for the prizes we are offering! YES! I said prizes.

Last year during the first MOABH I had the honor of being one the Trendsetters.  I loved being part of the TSG design team, so it was a NO BRAINER when this fun event rolled around again this year.

I'm happy to share a card I made using the fabulous and oh-so-cute set Bee Happy designed by Torico. This Bee just make me smile. I paired them up with some yummy Lime Twist papers by My Mind's Eye and I have to say, this card was quick! Easy to do when you've got great product. The card is skinny (3.75 x 5.5 inches), and that's why the circle hangs off the edge.  It will still fit inside an A2 envie. Just another way to add some extra interest to the card.

Now it’s time to hop over to Holly's blog.  While you're there, make sure you send her a little extra love, because this WHOLE hop was organized by her! Thank you for stopping by!  Hope you had fun!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!
