Mojo Monday on Friday {You're Swell}

I did it! Finally. I have been making cards for 11+ years and this is my very first shaker card. Crazy, isn't it?? This has always been on my crafty to-do list, but I always put it off. I have even had these easy to use foam circles in my stash for over a year now. I bought them last year during SAB with Stampin' Up! These pretty sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were my final PUSH to just do it!

I went shopping in my stash and decided on my very first Reverse Confetti stamp set, Happy Harbor. Love that the nautical theme is still trending. I guess it is a classic style, so I really don't see it ever going away.

I used an ocean like color palette on my card today-sno cone and Nightshift from MFT along with Ocean Tide from PTI. Grout Gray is there as my neutral. I love this color. It wasn't the gray I was hoping for when MFT released it, but man is it awesome. I have been using it a lot!

Here is a close up of my shaker element. I used the Stitched Mats-circle dies from Lil' Inkers and added a few fun stamps from Happy Harbor in my "port hole".

The So Stripey set was the perfect companion to this nautical card and for that long skinny panel. I stamped the diagonals in Steel Grey on to a sno cone panel. One more accent was the anchor stamped in Silver Encore ink and then cut out. I added some twine and attached it to my port hole with some glue dots.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for my card. It's long and skinny and I love it. My card measures 3.75 x 5.5, so it still fits in an A2 envelope.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great Friday!

Think Green {hello}

I am really hopeful Spring will arrive soon. Right now, I'll even take a few consistent warmer days in a row. Brrrr! It's still so COLD. I was thinking green and Spring yesterday as I was creating (and getting dressed....I happened to pull out my green beaded bracelets.....see it was a mood I was in for sure). I used green accents on this card and lots of MFT goodies.
I am playing along with the latest Card Concept #4 challenge. It's a Floral theme and I used the Freestyle Collage style.

I was also inspired by my friends over at MFT. They showed off LOTS of stencil techniques with this month's creative challenge. Fun stuff.

I started with Grout Gray cs and the Delicate Doily stencil. I used a sponge dauber and Grout Gray ink to create the soft and pretty background.

I also tried the layered die cut technique for my sentiment. I cut the "hi" 3 times from Gumdrop Green cardstock and then glued them all together. It's such a cool way to add more dimension.

I had the yellow rolled rose already on my desk from a previous project. I stamped some polka dots in Lemon Drop ink on the rose before I rolled it up. I cut two more Mini Rolled Roses in Grout Gray and stamped the Typewriter Text background stamp over top before rolling those. I tucked in a few of my favorite Layered Leaves and then scattered some yummy sequins from Pretty Pink Posh around the flowers. OMG....those clear ones are sooooo pretty.This is fair warning....I'm on a sequin kick....I've been using them on all my projects lately.

Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge.

I'm also linking this up to the latest Cardabilities #93 challenge. I loved the sketch, so I used it for my card design.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by today. Sending you warm wishes!

TCP Tuesday Challenge {go for the Gold}

I am really in love with using soft, pale pinks with gold. I did it again on this card for the TCP Tuesday Challenge-Go for Gold.

I made this girly birthday card to show off my gold hearts on the vellum circle and a row of Gold sequin trim to fit the challenge.
I started by stamping this sweet bear,  At Your Service, on x-press it blending cardstock. I then colored her up with my Copic markers.

I added the gifty to her plate to create the customized birthday card. The oval behind her is from Framed Up

Here is a close up of the pretty vellum with my sentiment stamped over top. I used black Archival ink.. Always be sure to set your stamped vellum piece aside to dry before you handle it to avoid smearing.

I finished off the card with a gorgeous seam binding ribbon. This is Rose color.  It was the perfect girly detail to complete this birthday card.

Check out the challenge over on the TCP blog or in the TCP Forum on SCS.

Here are the Details on how you can join in on the fun:
