My card today is showing off the new Triple Scoop set, Clearly Sentimental about Abundance. You can read all about this great program, HERE! Basically, if you spend enough (and that's not hard to do ;) ) you can get this set for FREE.

I used one of Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketches for this card and some beautiful Authentique papers. I decided to use one of the panels from Layered Lables to stamp my sentiment on. A few buttons finish this off.

Today is the next addition to the Inspired by stamp series and Fred is back!  Yeah! Here are the names of the two new sets: Inspired by Autumn, Fred Bear and the Megaphone.

 

I've got a card for each.  First up is my Autumn card. I actually pieced up the pumpkin. I thought it was a fun way to subtly add dimension to my pumpkin and give the pumpkin  more realistic colors. I stamped it 3 times, each in the different colored inks-pumpkin pie, ripe avacado, and espessro.  I cut out the leaf and stem and pieced them on the orange pumpkin base.  I was in a circle mood and played up the roundness throughout my card. While I didn't add any of the new, to be released die-namics here, I did use the new Woodgrain Fence die-namic and tied it all up with some Mandarin Orange twine.

Next is my Fred card. Again, I added some dimension to the mega phone by stamping it a second time, coloring it and then popping it up with a Jody Booster (just got a new shipment....love them!). 

Check out that cool new border, it's the one peaking out from the top of the striped border . It's a die-namic, of course and it's called Postage Stamp Border. I also used the oval tab die-namic to showcase my sentiment. I love that I can curve my stamps to nestle right in there.

Day one, brings you another look at our WTG for this month:Who's the Girl Chooses Hope .

Hopefully you got picked this up a few weeks ago with the VIP kit.  If not, well, no worries, you can happily add it to your cart on Oct. 4.  It's a beautiful set and releasing just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I love all the sentiments in the set and the fact that there are 2 circle images....that's great, too!

I have a card today full of crisp, clean lines, showcasing the beautiful image, the rolled gardenia, and an uplifting message!

I also did up the inside on this one. I carried over the pink houndstooth panel and accented it with the newest addtions to our tab series and flourish series of die-namics. This one is  oval tab and vintage flourish.

Sept. Creative Chat with MFT

It's time for the MFT Creative Chat. The My Favorite Things Design Team Creative Chat is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative spaces and share valuable organizational methods, tools, and shopping strategies with you. You'll be able to peek into our creative spaces, ask questions, and share your own ideas in the MFT forum.  This month, we were asked the following questions:  

How do you store and organize your card stock?  
How do you store your scrap card stock? 

 

Welcome back this month for another look into my craft space. Last month this featured seemed like a hit, so we are back with how we store our cardstock. When I first thought about this topic, I said to myself, "this might be my best organization" and then when I really looked at how I store all my cardstock, I realized "well, maybe not." LOL!  Like I said last month, this works for me.

 

So one of the biggest splurges I made when I first really got into paper crafting was this cart from Cropper Hopper and the plastic paper holders.  I still love it and it still fits my space well.

On the top you'll see I store all of my 8 1/2 x11 cardstock.  From the beginning I have never mixed brands of cardstock. I need to keep it separate so I can keep it all straight in my head. I like to organize by color family, since that was how my SU brain worked for many years. I keep it that way and I can still find all the colors I need.

On the bottom of the cart, you'll find all my 12x12 cardstock (along with a few other things). As you see, I don't have nearly as much solid 12x12 as I do 8 1/2 x 11, but I've got what I need.

This cart sits inside my closet in the room and it is to the back of me.  I always have to stand up to get what I need.  So I need to keep some cardstock right at my finger tips. Directly to my left, I've got a nice stash of my most used neutrals (fossil, whip cream, black licorice, sno cone ect.). I use the plastic paper holder, again, but it fits inside one of the cubbies of my storage unit.

The only other things I have to share is my scrap box.  It's a little scary, I'm warning you, but I love that it is right at my feet. I store all my scraps in gallon size zip lock baggies and have them all in an old box.  This sits on the floor, right at my feet.

Color has it's own baggie. I used to keep every little scrap. I don't do that now, but I still hold on to the bigger ones.  It's convient for cutting with my die-namics. I try not to cut into a full sheet of cardstock if I can help it.

CARDS challenge...3 borders.

I haven't done a challenge for the CARDS blog in a long time. This week was a good one...use 3 different border punches on a card. I didn't use punches, but I put my beloved MFT die-namics to use.  I got some new paper from Jillibean Soup, sweet and sour, and it was a perfect match to this ittity bitty by Unity (a Jillibean co-brand). Note to Self.

The border die-namics I used here are: solid bracket border, notebook edge, and little open scallop.  I also snuck in a little file tab die-namic. I thought it was a nice touch with the office themed prducts.

WSC-As Happy as Happy Gets!

I'm back with another great sketch from MFT with our Wednesday Stamp Club.

 I gonne love on myself and tell you that I LOVE this card of mine. Not only is this image the cutest (a new PI-Feeling Froggy), but the colors of papers are just so rich and fall-like! I love the texture the polka dots makes me smile and the finishing touch of the Prima Donna Petals (you love it too, I see. Keep checking back, Kim will have it back in stock real soon!) ....NICE! Some times a card just really speaks to you!

Here's what you have to work with this week. I think you'll like it. You'll notice I flipped the sketch and used the shape of the First Class Friend postage die-namic for the middle panel. A bit of dainty dots hides the seam behind the image panel.

I've got two cards for you today. Each one shows off the two amazing main images from this set. Yes, I said TWO and they are round!!! LOVE that. Some pretty pink MME paper and a few die-namics (open scallop doily duo and bracket tab)  help make this one pop! Oh, and I snuck in a bit of solid bracket edge.

My next card takes a simpler approach. I've always loved kraft with pink, so I played up a few tones of the pretty color. I used some of the sentiments from the FREE mini set, Choose Hope, that you'll get if you order the VIP kit!  I used the First Class Friend postage frame die-namic to highlight the beautiful phrase and accented it with the WTG image and my own Ribbon of Hope. A tucked in a few medium simply scallops and tied up the ribbon with a Pink Sorbet TWINE bow.

I also want to point out once again, how much I adore the cardstock in the MFT Boutique.

On today's cards I used:

acrylic paint with PTI

I had this on my mind all week. Here I am the night before a new Make it Monday challenge goes live. Luckily I got some crafty time after the boys went to bed tonight.

So the challenge was to use acrylic paint with your stamps. I found this bottle of purple acrylic paint in my cupboard earlier this week (that's why I've been thinking about this challenge). I knew it would look great on craft cs.

I pulled out the Tin Type background set and stamped the bottom half of the paper, added a strip of ripe avocado cs and finished the top with some handmade polka dots (from the finger dauber that I applied the acrylic paint with. The air plane is from FlyAway. I chose to NOT use the banner and added a button instead.

Simple and sweet.

Look what I Found, Friday!

I rarely post non-crafty things on my blog. BUT this is photography, so I guess it could definitely fall into the hobby/craft category. I found a good thing, and just wanted to share with you.  Actually, I should say it found me. LOL!

For months I've been wanting to look into a canvas print for my walls.  I've wanted one done of the boys since they were babies.  I even had a groupon coupon I was just about to hit the "buy" button on.  Call it was fate, or luck, but how ever you want to look at it, I felt so fortunate to find an email from Easy Canvas Prints asking me to review their product.  Right time, right place...that's for sure.

So I gladly accepted and am here to tell you how pleased I am with my canvas. The process was so quick and easy.  There is a step by step tutorial that walks you through how to pick the canvas that is right for you.  The hardest part (at least for me) was choosing which photo I wanted to turn into a canvas. I loved that I could take time to upload different pictures to see how it would look. I think I switched out 6 or 7 different ones to find the right one for me.

There are different upgrades you can choose for extra money, but I kept mine simple and used the basic features (still there were options, so you can customize to your liking even within the "basic" features). I liked that.  I went with the canvas wrap sides (in an 8x10 size) and I'm glad I did.  It looks great and you don't loose any of your photo that way.  I don't plan on framing my piece so I think it gives my canvas a bit more of an artistic feel.

Shipping was speedy fast...always LOVE that. I recieved my finished piece in 6 days from the time I hit the submit button on the sales page, to the time it arrived on my door step.

So if you are looking for a cool new way to spruce up a room, or to display a favorite picture, I say give Easy Canvas Prints a try.  I think you'll be pleased with the finish product.
