In 2011, MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a new monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're all putting down the markers, pencils and paints and sharing projects with No Coloring!
I fully embraced this challenge and LOVED it. I know you will be seeing much more of this sytle in my posts to come. I think know you will be amazed at what my team mates came up with. I was drooling over some of the sneak peeks I saw.
I decided to make use of some of my new Fancy Pants Halloween paper and make a non-Halloween card with it. I loooove the purples and teals in this paper pack, and if you get creative with some of the prints, you can mask the Halloween-ness of it.
I used the sweet Sunflower Girl PI from last month's release. Along with some yummy black seam binding ribbon (thanks, Bar!), the DecorativeDoily die-namic, the small upsy daisy flower, and the solid bracket border.
Since my image isn't colored in, I decided to stamp the sentiment onto colored paper and cut it apart. It was an easy way to bring in another pop of color, plus it's an easy way to squeeze on a sentiment into a smaller space.
I decided I wasn't done with these papers and I had the scraps right in front of me.....so, no brainer.....make a tag! I also wanted to show another way you can go about the "no coloring" challenge-stamp the image in colored ink. You see this one done a lot on the inside of cards, by why not on the front or even a tag, like I did here.
So here I used some of the new release products, PI Little Witch (guess you all loved her, too....looks like she is out of stock. check back soon!) and the dog tag die-namic. I used the same papers and tied it up with a button and a little MFT Twine! Oh, and duh! It's all done up on the Tag You're It die-namic.
Come get creative with us and try this clean, no coloring technique on your next project. It's fun, I promise!
