Retro Sketch {be Breave}

**scroll down to see my UNITY CHA HOP cards**

A quick post  for tonight.
I got some stampy time today and
was very productive with 1 pack of paper.
LOVE the Lily Bee-Buttercup paper pack.
I got some milage out of it today and
really had some mojo in full gear.

I used this week's Retro Sketch
to make this little scrappy card.
I used
LOTS
of
MFT PRODUCT

and
I just love how it turned out.
It has been awhile since I pulled out
the set
I adore that FOUR POINT FRAME and how
you can stamp it up with the tiny text.
I also stamped  a few pretty flourishes from the stamp set.

I pieced up a few little HEXAGONS
just like the sketch called for.

Up long the side,
I decided on a strip of NOTEBOOK EDGE
I stitched it on, and I think it looks great.

A teeny little UPSY DAISY DIE-NAMCIS
with a buttony twiney center was just the perfect embellie.
A few black rhinestones finished this one off.

I was lucky enough to get a shout out
from the crew at Retro Sketches, last week.
If you haven't checked out their sketches,
YOU NEED TO!
They are always great.

Check out the Die-namics I used on today's card, too!

I love that those flowers can be stamped together,

That sentiment was perfect up on these layered circles.

MFTWSC81-{thinking of you}

Hello again.  I am back with this week's WSC sketch by My Favorite Things.  I sure hope you'll play along. It's always fun and always a great reason to use your MFT stamps and Die-namics. Using what I buy, always helps justify my purchases. lol!

Sadly, I had to make a sympathy card for a close friend this week.  Her mother passed away and while we attended the funeral, I thought it would be extra thoughtful, to pop a card in the mail  for her in the coming week.

I was dying to use the new specialty kraft paper I purchased from SU.  The pretty floral background was a great setting for my soft, muted peachy colors. I flipped the sketch and scooted over the button (new MFT Buttons! love 'em!).

I first stamped the cherry blossom branch from IB SPRING in apricot appeal ink, and then did the sentiment from FINISHING FLOURISHES in crumb cake ink.  The whole main image panel was cut from the newest DESIGNER LABEL 3 STAX DIE-NAMICS.

A sweet little FISHTAIL FLAGS STAX DIE-NAMICS, button and twine complete the card.  I think this will surely put a little smile on my friends face, during this difficult time.

Here is this week's sketch.

Come play along for a chance to win an MFT Gift Voucher.

MFT VIP....Simple Pleasures

Welcome to this month's My Favorite Things VIP release. I love this mid-month release....another excuse to shop, shop, SHOP!!!

This VIP COLLECTION is a LIMITED QUANTITY product that gives you the opportunity to purchase upcoming stamp sets and Die-namics dies THREE WEEKS early.

Here is what you get with this month's kit:

  • Pure Innocence Picture Perfect stamp set
  • Pure Innocence Piggy Bank stamp set
  • Simple Pleasures Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set - will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE)
  • Lead the Way Die-namics

Another great set of cuties. Gosh....I am just tickled pink over this cute piggy set, called PI-Piggy Bank. I can see so many great uses for it and with all the cute, punny sentiments included with the VIP kit you'll have a fun set of words for any occasion.

I really just loooved the "hogs and kisses", so I used it on this card. Along with the fantastic set of arrows, Lead the Way Die-namics....seriously SWOON!!! I love all the options you get. I used three of the 7, yes I said 7 arrows!!!

Here you can see some of the arrows up close as well as the PINKING EDGES DIE-NAMICS I used, the cappuccino twine and the gorgeous new MFT Buttons in Orange Fizz. I used my beloved KRAFT CS and then some WHIP CREAM CS for my base.

I used the same color of card stock for the next card  as well.  Yes, it's my go-to card base combo. Here I also cute some SNO CONE card stock from the TRADITIONAL TAGS STAX DIE-NAMICS.   The designer papers are some older Echo Park.

This one I also used a bit of the PINKING EDGE and tucked in a CHEVRON STRIPES behind the main image. And dontcha just love that pretty orange fizz bow???

I added the word "smile" to the cute circle arrow from the new LEAD THE WAY DIE-NAMICS (included with this month's collection). Check it out!

Here is another look at the pieced up PI-Picture Perfect. She was a bit tricky to do, but I love how she turned out.

I also prettied up the inside, and I couldn't resist adding the oh-so-big-and-cool BEHIND THE CAMERA DIE-NAMICS. I cut it from Kraft card stock, and added a skinny CHEVRON STRIPE, and a flower center from the BOTANICAL BEAUTY flower. Since I had an antique brass jumbo eyelet on the outside of my card, I added a little brad in the same finish to my flower center.

Thanks for stopping by tonight. There is still so much to see.

Here's a look at this month's VIP collection.
Get it while it lasts!

Be sure to hop on over to the MFT Blog for all the VIP details. Kim's got the line up.

Cupcakes and MFT

Welcome! MFT has been busy cooking up some summer fun.  MFT is sponsoring this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.  Have you seen the challenge? It's a fun challenge blog and we are so happy to be playing along this week.
Here is the gorgeous inspiration photo we get to use.

It's deelish and pretty and so inspiring. I was really drawn in with the colors and all the round layers from the cupcake stand. So I created a round card and added LOTS of pretty to it.

The round card base was easy to create with the help of my CIRCLE STAX 1 &2 DIE-NAMICS.  Then I pulled out the lovely HIGH TEA DOILY DIE-NAMICS. I used a thin cardstock (SU Very Vanilla) to cut it out and then used the awesome Pop-Out Tool to quickly punch out all those sweet little holes.

I stamped the beautiful, scripty sentiment from LET'S TOAST.   I love when I re-discover a set I had tucked away. I also tucked in a MINI SCALLOPED EDGE. Ahhh! love that Die-namics.

Then the large IB BUTTERFLY DIE-NAMICS  called my name. I cut the largest one from Hot Fudge cardstock and made it into a corrugated piece of "cardboard" with a quick turn of my CRIMPER!!! I know you have one....pull it out and use it. It's fun and adds great texture to your Die-cut pieces.

I layered my butterfly with another die cut Butterfly in pink, a button, burlap twine and gave him sweet little antenna with two pearl topped hat pins!

The whole card was finished off with a few touches of green, just like the inspiration piece. I added in a few LEAFY FLOURISHES in Spring Moss cs. I can't wait to pop this one in the mail to my bestie! She does deserve the best!

Check out the Cupcake INspiration Challenge HERE! and don't forget to stop by the MFT Blog for a full list of participants today.

Bowl-full of Comfort {Unity}

I wanted to show off this week's Unity SOTW.
I just love the sentiment.
I colored up this sweet stack of bowls with my Copics.

I used this week's Retro Sketch and some
MME papers.
I love how you can add so much dimension to a card
just by cutting out an image and
popping it up with some foam dots.
I did that here to my bowls
and then added a nice shadow underneath
with my W-1 Copic marker.

There is still time to sign up for
SOTW
AND
get this image.
Check out all the details

Thanks for stopping by today.
