Sadly, I had to make a sympathy card for a close friend this week. Her mother passed away and while we attended the funeral, I thought it would be extra thoughtful, to pop a card in the mail for her in the coming week.
I was dying to use the new specialty kraft paper I purchased from SU. The pretty floral background was a great setting for my soft, muted peachy colors. I flipped the sketch and scooted over the button (new MFT Buttons! love 'em!).
I first stamped the cherry blossom branch from IB SPRING in apricot appeal ink, and then did the sentiment from FINISHING FLOURISHES in crumb cake ink. The whole main image panel was cut from the newest DESIGNER LABEL 3 STAX DIE-NAMICS.
A sweet little FISHTAIL FLAGS STAX DIE-NAMICS, button and twine complete the card. I think this will surely put a little smile on my friends face, during this difficult time.
Here is this week's sketch.
And don't forget...today is VIP Day...scrolll down for my MFT VIP post.
This is a beautiful, thoughtful card. I'm sure your friend will appreciate it greatly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!! Love that paper!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely design, Lisa! I love how you stamped the flowers in the coral color and let the image speak for itself. So sweet! Thank you for posting my card on the Unity blog. What an honor! Take care!
