TCPTues 270- {Dream Big}

Busy, busy Tuesday here on the blog. I hope you stick around to see it all. It's time for another TCP Tuesday challenge. We have a sketch for you this time AND there is still the Summer Blog Hop for you to join in on. If you haven't play along yet, grab this sketch and some TCP stamps and create something. I made this soft and pretty card using the newly released, Simple Blooms Stamp set along with a few TCP Cutups.

There are cut files available for this sketch. isn't that cool?!! I decided to use some of my TCP cutups dies. Across the top, I used the Toppers Die. I stamped some tone on tone Simple Blooms and the sentiment in Grout Gray ink. I also added a teeny tiny Sno Cone butterfly from the new Butterflies Cutup

Framed Up 2 for the circle and the banner pieces. I topped each with a button and twine bows. I also stamped more Simple Blooms in the tone on tone colors. Soft and sweet with a beachy, summery feel.

Here is the sketch.

Now it’s your turn, play along with us on the TCP Tuesday Challenge and load up your card below. THEN, add it to the Summer Blog Hop on the right. (Just make sure you use at least one Summer product.  You could win big!

A Summer Friendly Challenge

I always love getting to stamp along with friends, even if it's virtually. My stampy friends Becky, Jackie, and I decided to play along in our own challenge just for fun!

We like to keep it simple, without a lot of restrictions. So that's what we did. Here's what we came up with.
  • Something New
  • Something Old (use something that you haven't used in over a year)
  • Add some texture

and...........Here's my card.

My Something new is the sweet Doodle Garden stamp just released from MFT. I can't get enough of these cuties. This one is called Take The Plunge. I used the "keep cool" sentiment, since it is soooo stinkin' HOT here in the midwest. I'm not complaining, though....I'd rather it be hot than cold any day.

My something old is the cute tag element. It's a PTI die, called Tag Sale#5,  and it's been collection dust long enough. I love the shape of this and thought it was a fun way to show off some of the pretty Atlantic paper. I stamped the sentiment right on top with the Crisp Cantaloupe ink from SU.

My texture is the burlap. I cut a rectangle and attached it to some Pink Lemonade cs and then gave it a little more stability with a quick wonky stitch around the edges.

I also pulled out my favorite Blueprints 3 and used a few of the pierced elements from that Die-namics set.

I can't wait to see what the other girls did. Come follow me to their blogs so we can check out their take on the Friendly Challenge.

Becky

Jackie { ETA: Jackie is still working on something, she may have her's up later today. }

Thanks for stopping by today. Come see me tomorrow, I've got more stamping creations ready to go.

{day5} MFT June Teasers

Hello, hello! Happy Release week. It is day 5 of the My Favorite Things Teasers. We are getting closer to release night. On June 11 at 10pm you'll be able to load up your cart and get all the new June Release products.

Today I have a sweet new Doodle Garden Girl for you and I paired her with a new Die-namics. She is called Aloha. I just adore these Doodle Garden stamps. They are so fun to color up.

I stamped her onto x-press blending card stock and colored her with my Copics. After I was done, I added a touch of sparkle with some stickles to her flowers.

I gave her a sandy beach to set the scene for my beautiful Palm Tree. The sand was created with the Sno Drifts Die-namics. Simply cut them from Kraft cs and sponge on some Kraft ink.

The trunk of the Palm Tree Die-namics was cut with Hot Fudge cs and then I used two different colors of MFT  green cs, sour apple and gumdrop green to cut the leaves. MFT thinks of everything when creating their Die-namics. This tree has a solid leafy tree top, and two separate Palm designs so you can easily add depth and color. I used the Coconuts (also included) to pull the full design together.

With the larger acccent on this card, I kept my other embellies simple. I tied on some hemp twine and added the sentiment to one of the sandy hills in Hot Fudge Ink.

Come back tomorrow for more Teaser Time fun. For now, head on over to the MFT Blog for today's reveal AND for a chance at one of the HUGE PRIZES!!

**Please Note-any new product links will not be active until release night
June 11 at 10pm**

Hello....Summer!

It's official. For us, at least. Summer is here. My kiddos finished school yesterday and I will be done with my first year as a Preschool aid, as of 12:30pm TODAY!!! Summer has a whole new meaning to me :)

I am looking forward to NOT packing lunches, waking up to an alarm clock, and soaking up some sun (with sunscreen and sun hat, of course!)

I made this sweet summery card with this week's Retro Sketch 65. I loved it. This is my second card using it. It was super easy to make that split panel. I simply die cut my Insert it 3x4 Die-namics, gave it a quick trim and added some Peaceful Wildflowers to the top layer.

In the open space I added a hello from Happy Hellos Die-namics. Isn't Orange Fizz such a happy color.

I was feeling summer, so I also used MFT Card stock in Gumdrop Green, Kraft, and Sno cone for a pretty combo. I added some Gumdrop Green Buttons to follow the sketch, and tied on some Hemp Twine. I ♥ my Twine.
Of course it's easy to coordinate your whole card, ink and all, with the Premium Dye inks MFT now sells. I inked up those Wildflowers with Berrylicious, Gumdrop Green, and Steel Blue inks.
