Happier Post

I wasn't going to post all weekend, but then I decided I didn't want my big long sob story up all weekend, either. Sooooo, here's a happier subject-the Lego Train!

My boys loooooove Legos. I seriously think we could open our own store. Don't tell the boys, but I think I secretly suck up a handful, unintentionally, every time I vacuum. They are everywhere. My boys are also pretty enamored with trains. Sooooo 2 Christmas's ago, Santa brought them an electric Lego Train. It is the coolest thing (last year he brought another, bigger and better one too). It's the best of both worlds. I used three MFT die-namics dies-oval chain border, the new star border, and Framed Greetings die. There are also some earth girl buttons and baby braddies. The stamp set was the new Wyatt set, Wyatt the Conductor. Here's a detail shot. It shows the sweet little Wyatt Engineer and all 3 dies. Paper is once, again Making Memories with a little SU dsp thrown in.
The bus situation worked itself out. Thank goodness. J is now sitting with 2 boys his own age and he is MUCH happier. Thanks for all your sweet words yesterday. Enjoy the weekend!

A little stampy time today!

School FINALLY started for us today. We had an extra long summer, thanks to some construction on our high school. The last few weeks have been really relaxing and lazy, but we were ready for a routine to begin.
Of course I couldn't help myself and made the boys pose for a first day of school picture. The reflectors on their backpacks crack me up. I did not color coordinate them, they dressed themselves and just happened to both wear blue today. Bonus for me, come scrapbooking time. I did good, no tears this morning. I sent my middle guy off to first grade, so it was his first FULL day of school. I think first grade is a much harder adjustment than Kindergarten. He did great and was all smiles as he got off the bus.

Soooo, with the start of school, a playdate for my littlest guy, and a nap for hubby (he works tonight) I got some stampy time! Actually, this image, Jolinne-friends forever, I've had colored for a few weeks. She just never made it onto a card during release week. I think she is just the sweetest! Mercy's Tuesday sketch was just what she needed. I also did up the inside and just looooove how the framed greeting die-namics die fits perfectly into the negative piece of my Perfect Bracket die-namics. I'll see you back here tomorrow with another card I made today with some fun The Cat's Pajama's stamps.

MFT Shop & Hop

It's time for our My Favorite Things Shop & Hop DT blog hop. It's always a great way to cap off the Release Party fun. Hopefully you just came from Melody's blog, if not you'll want to start at the beginning with Kim's blog, she's got all the details on tonight's release. There is Secret Blog candy (a $15 MFT gift certificate) hidden amongst one of the DT's blogs. Leave comments along the way for your chance to win!
I get to share a fun little project I created for my boys. I'm so proud of myself for thinking ahead, and now I'll be one step ahead of the game come Halloween time. I created these sweet little treat pouches for my kiddos.
Thanks to the super cute new Stephanie Fizer set, TinyTown Halloween, these came together easily. I wanted to say quickly, but in all honesty, I spent some time with these. I guess I got a little carried away with all the piecing, stitching, and die cutting! It was soooo much fun! It's also a bonus of creating before the actual holiday arrives- you can take your time putting your projects together. I made up 3 little treat pouches for my boys. I used lots of images from the set, there are just so many cuties and fun sentiments to help make any Halloween project SCREAM! I had to add one of the new die-namics dies, just because, so I thought the star border worked well with the Halloween theme. If you can't tell, I {heart} my die-namics dies. If you can, get them ALL! you won't be disappointed. While I only cut paper here on my project, I loooove that you can die cut lots and lots of materials-felt, cork, fabric, aluminum, just to name a few. I also finished off these sweet treats with some Earth Girl Buttons and my other fave embellie, MFT twill! Here's a close up of each of them individually, so you can see all the pretty details.
Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet, kind words all week.
I'm sending you on your way.....lots to see and share. Up next is the wonderfully, talented, Cindy!

Day 5-almost release time!

Today is the last of the Teaser Time posts. Tonight the Party begins! Don't miss out on the fun, chit chat, PRIZES and then the Shop & Hop blog hop where you get to see all the new release goodies one more time! It's always a great time.

Are you getting excited???? I know I am. Before you start really thinking about tonight, we've got a few more teasers for you. How about Well Read WTG and a new Flopsy??? I've got samples of both for you today. Let's start with Flopsy....it's been awhile since we've seen him and this month he's been busy flying a kite. I used Jen Del Muro's ASFYTT from last week to help pull this card together. And of course I couldn't resist some fun OA dp from their Fly a Kite line up. It really was a perfect match. Two dies were used here....I am soooooo loving how the new Perfect Bracket and Framed Greetings dies

work together. It's a marriage made in heaven! I added some fun high style green ruffled ribbon to help pretty up my card, plus it kind of looks like grass with it sticking up like that. Dontcha think????

Up next is some fun book marks and a card I made for my boys. We still have another week till school starts and I'm going to give these to them the night before. Love these little pocket cards, they are great for tucking in little tags, gift cards, and like I did, book marks. I used a quote from the new Clearly Sentiment about Books set. It's one by Dr. Seuss. I thought the Cosmo Cricket, JOy Ride dp was kind of Seuss-like in it's design. The left edge of the pocket card, also gives you another looksie at the awesome new Notebook Edge die-namics die. Loooove it! One the J book mark you can see the negative of the same die, it's pretty cool in itself-kind of like a two-fer for you!

Aren't you loving all the great new MFT goodies??? Do you have your wish list started? Make sure you get your entry in for the Guest Designer Contest. You have until this evening to get it uploaded. It's a great chance to win the entire Oct. MFT release. Good luck.
Today we have another full lineup of great MFT stamps. More of those super fabby Flapper Doodles and a darling Joliene . I decided to try my hand at a vintage Flapper Doodle-All Dolled Up! It was easy to do with some great Webster Pages dp and embellies and the pretty MFT Crocheted ribbon (currently out of stock, but will be back in soon). I stamped her on some dp, cut her out and mounted her on the Framed Greetings die. I was so excited to show you the Perfect Bracket edge again,

but my picture doesn't give the greatest view. It's there and it's a perfect fit! You can see it here on the inside of my card, though. I finished off the inside with a bit of MFT Crocheted ribbon.

Teaser Time-Day 3-Pure Innocence

I know, I say it each month, but that's because each month more great Pure Innocence stamps are added to the MFT Boutique. They are just the sweetest stamps around! I just HAD to use the Honey Bee image and she felt like she needed to be watercolored. I also added a fun border peaking out in black with the Perfect Bracket die-namics die. I love that it can be cut down to fit just about any size you need. Finished her off with some Perfect Plaid yellow ribbon and a couple MFT buttons. I can't really say which set they are from, cuz I store all my MFT buttons together in one big jar o' buttons. It is button heaven and I DO keep my MFT buttons seperate from any other brand of buttons. I tell, ya, just get them all. It's nice to have a variety!

Teaser Time with MFT!!

I get so excited when this time of the month rolls around. I know you do too! It's time for more great NEW My Favorite Things goodies to be peeked! Hold on to your hats! There's sooo much goodness coming you're way. I've got 3 projects to share today! And some exciting news at the end of the post, so make sure you read all the way through!

First up is a super sweet treat by Stephanie Fizer. Yep, she's done it again and created the cutest Halloween set, called Tiny Town Halloween. I kept my card on the Clean & Simple side, and I quite like how it turned out. I couldn't resist using the awesome ShelteringTree & leaf die-namics die on this. Did you get it last release? Be sure to pick it up this month, there are soooo many MFT sets that you can use it with. I cut it out in black and I love how the embossed woodgrain really stands out. Helps give that spooky feel of the card. Oh, and do you spy a new die? I know you did. It's a border of stars and it's DEVINE!!!! It even puches out the teeny tiny stars from the centers and if you are one of those stampers that uses every little scrap, you'll be in star heaven!
I feel like I went all out, today for you. I have two more great samples to share. I used two more new dies on this Scrapbook page along with the awesome new Wendy Alphabet set. Some of you may already have this, it's been a special extra with a few promotions over the last month. Yeah to you! The cool thing is, Kim is adding it to the boutique so if you haven't gotten your hands on it, NOW you can (well, on the 1st)! It is one of the must haves! I wasn't sure about using it on a boy page, but sure 'nough, I think it looks fabulous. I spelled out birthday with it, on that cool new Rounded Banner die! How sweet is that?!!! It's a three piece die, all connected (so you won't loose any of the pieces) and it's waaaay cool. I even used the pieces individually to look like circle clusters along the edges of my page. See the polka dotted bracket? THAT'S a new die-namics die, too. I really like it and you'll see plenty more of it with the rest of my teaser posts this week. It's called Perfect Bracket Edge. You must get it, it really is perfect! I also used the Banner Day alpha and some baby braddies on this layout.

One more for you today. It shows the new Star border die and the very cool, Clearly Sentimental about Harvesting stamp set. I thought this quote made a great back to school card, especially paired with some great stars! AND, surprise, surprise, the final die-namics die for this release. It's the notebook edge at the top of this. It's so fun and I know, I'll be using this over and over again!
I just had to show one last picture, this is from the inside of my card. I just adore how it turned out! Just shows how great ALL MFT stamps work together: bling bet, PI MVP, and Banner Day alpha, AND Framed Greetings die.

No images, just words on this card. You know what??? Wanna hang with the MFT DT next month? Make sure you create something for the Guest Designer Contest. YOu can read about the details in the MFT forum, HERE! This month, Let's Get Sentimental, and make words or sentiments the main focus on your card or project.

Okay, one more thing, the extra surprise I told you would be at the end of this post. Remember last month???? There were FREE stamps being given away just for leaving a comment??? Yep, Kim is doing it again this month. As you make your way through the Teaser Time posts, simply leave a comment on each blog, for your chance to win one of the Brand Spankin' New stamp sets being released on Sept. 1st. A winner will be chosen from the comments on the pre-selected blog before tomorrow's teaser list goes live, and will be posted on Kim's blog. Be sure to check tomorrow to see if YOU are the winner. You can play along each day for your chance to win. We will be giving away NINE new stamp sets this week! As always, you can find the master list of participating designers HERE Kim's blog. If you loved today's samples, you have a chance to win one of these two stamp sets! Clearly Sentimental about Harvesting. Just remember to leave a comment along the way-there's a prize hidded among the DT blogs. It's a secret, so no one knows who has the prize!
Phew! it was long, I know, but I sure hope you felt it was worth it! Off you go, to see what the rest of the DT did with their Teaser Posts. Check out Kim's blog after 11 am (EST).
